At 1:30 in the afternoon, the delegation led by Yu Xiangqian, accompanied by Vice Director Gao of the Binjiang City Police Departnt, hurried to the Linghai Police Bureau Developnt Zone Branch, where Linghai Police Director Zhang Yidong was to host the visit.
However, the explanation was not provided by him but by the most knowledgeable Vice Director, Shi Shengyong.
According to the City Bureau's requirents, the main topics included the Linghai Police Bureau's strict prohibition of business activities, the consolidation of police stations during the process of township upgrading, the long-term cooperation between the Linghai Police Bureau and the Binjiang Water Police Branch and the Changhang Binjiang Police Station in combating water-related cris, as well as the Linghai Police Bureau's work in military support.
Business activities of judicial organs have been a sore point for the Yungang Police Departnt.
If not for engaging in business, the forr Director, Vice Director, and Criminal Police Team Captain wouldn't have ended up in trouble. Ordinarily, when people co to visit, you shouldn't bring up uncomfortable topics, as it might make them awkward.
But today, not only are these issues being raised, they are even the first item to be introduced, reportedly on Director Yu's directive.
"Leaders, at the beginning of the reform and opening up, our Linghai Police Bureau also engaged in business, having established the Jindun Hotel, a labor service company, a security company, and a driving school. In 1991, considering the public's strong opinions against police organs engaging in business, the bureau's party committee decided to shut down the labor service company and driving school."
The companions indeed felt awkward.
