The White Blooded offspring were being grood thoroughly, day by day. But today was special. Tonight, they would undergo the Dragonrite—the sacred ritual where they would drink the blood of Tiamat.

Inside the grand bath chambers, the four of them were being cleaned by their assigned servants. One servant scrubbed their backs. Another poured warm water. Another prepared fresh towels and fragrant oils.

Raspy and Sloppy were being scrubbed so vigorously by four servants each that their skin had turned a furious shade of pink.

"OW! Watch the ears!"

"I’m becoming a Dragonborn tonight, not a polished floor!"

Knots sat in a separate, smaller tub, the water perfectly tempered. He made no complaints. Instead, he simply closed his eyes as a servant ticulously washed each strand of his long braided hair, which draped over the edge of the marble basin.

Amid the splashing and shouting, he remained perfectly still, a statue of quiet composure.

In the adjoining chamber for the girls, Big Arms was receiving her own treatnt. Several servants struggled to massage the tension out of her mountain like shoulders, their hands straining against the sheer mass of muscle.

"Co on, scrub harder! I want to make myself shiny when Tiamat lays his eyes on !"

The servants worked faster, nervously scrubbing her massive fra.

After the long hours of washing and grooming the White Blooded offspring, the head servant finally clapped her hands and shouted:

"Clothing!"

In an instant, the children were lifted from the baths and dressed in pristine ceremonial garnts so fine they felt almost weightless. The fabric shimred softly, embroidered with the royal crest—Tiamat’s Eleven Heads.

Raspy and Sloppy imdiately began fidgeting, tugging at their high collars.

"Oh! We got new clothes!"

"You’re so easy to impress. They just added red lining and the Eleven Heads of Tiamat."

Nearby, several servants quietly admired Knots as he was dressed.

Their eyes sparkled as they watched him, their hearts nearly lting.

"Oh... he truly looks like a prince."

"He’s so handso."

anwhile, Big Arms flexed experintally, her biceps nearly bursting through the delicate fabric of her ceremonial tunic.

One servant whispered nervously,

"...Please don’t flex."

Big Arms looked offended.

"I’m not!"

Afterward, the four of them were led into the grand dining hall—an enormous chamber with a table so long it seed to stretch across the entire room. Towering pillars lined the hall, and massive chandeliers bathed everything in warm, golden light.

The White-Blooded offspring took their seats as servants began placing dish after dish before them—the finest delicacies the Kingdom had to offer.

Knots ate with perfect composure. Every movent was calm and deliberate; his posture remained straight, his manners flawless, like a young noble raised within the highest court.

Across the table, however, Raspy and Sloppy displayed far less dignity. They devoured their food with wild enthusiasm, grabbing whatever was closest and shoveling it down as fast as possible.

In front of them, Big Arms tore into a roasted leg of lamb with equal ferocity, though she at least had the decency to chew before speaking. Watching the reckless duo eat like starving beasts, she snorted.

"Slow down. You’ll want a full stomach before the Rite. They say the transformation burns every calorie in your body in ten seconds."

Raspy punched his own chest to force the food down and muttered between breaths,

"Then I’ll just eat more. Tonight’s nu is on another level! This is what a two hours before becomin a Dragonbornal should look like!"

Sloppy grabbed a goblet and took a long drink.

"Why don’t they just pour Tiamat’s blood here already? Then we could beco Dragonborn right now!"

Big Arms burst into laughter. She flexed proudly, her muscles tightening beneath the ceremonial fabric. Then she stood, raising her glass high toward the hall.

"HEY! All you white blooded scums!"

Her booming voice echoed across the dining chamber.

"Tonight we drink the Blood of Tiamat! The strength of the Primordial Dragon will flow through us!"

She lifted her goblet higher.

"Raise your glasses and roar!"

Her grin widened with savage excitent.

"Roar for the end of our humanity! Roar for our father!"

All across the vast dining hall, the other White-Blooded who were scheduled for the Dragonrite tonight leapt to their feet. Goblets rose into the air as dozens of voices roared together, deep and wild, echoing like a chorus of young dragons awakening.

"ROOOAAAR!"

The hall trembled with their excitent.

But Knots did not join them... He remained seated, silent.

His eyes rested on the dark liquid inside his goblet. He slowly turned the glass in his fingers, watching the wine swirl along the rim as if imagining it were already the blood of Tiamat.

His expression remained calm and unreadable.

Soon after, the great feast ca to an end. Now they stood outside. The mountain wind whistled sharply in their ears as they began climbing the long stone staircase that led toward the sacred site of the Dragonrite.

Their thin ceremonial garnts fluttered violently in the freezing air, offering little protection from the biting cold of the mountain peak.

Raspy shivered as he climbed.

"Hah... hah... okay... now I understand why they made us eat so much... Big Arms... you are right."

He wheezed, his breath coming out in thick plus of white vapor. He was hunched over, his hand gripping the freezing stone railing.

"My stomach... it feels empty already. How many steps is this? Five thousand? Ten?"

Sloppy huffed beside him, already breathing harder.

"Yeah... this climb is brutal. Hey, Big Arms... could you just lift up instead? And wake if we get there..."

Ahead, the endless staircase wound upward through the dark mountain, a jagged path that seed to reach into the heavens themselves.

Big Arms cracked her neck and pressed onward without slowing, leading the small group with unwavering determination. Her broad shoulders hunched against the gale, frost clinging to her hair and tunic, but she refused to shiver.

"Stop complaining and move! The calories I said you needed weren’t just for the transformation—they’re for this climb! Collapse here, and the servants won’t pick you up. They’ll kick you off the edge to make room for the next batch!"

Raspy straightened, chest puffed out, fire flashing in his eyes.

"Then I’ll... I’ll just have to climb... faster! This is nothing to a Dragonborn!"

Beside him, Sloppy mimicked him, unwilling to be outdone. Behind them, Knots climbed in steady silence, his pace calm and asured despite the fierce wind and freezing cold.
