Leaning over the basin, she reverted to her Chira Worm form and opened her mouth, calling upon the Hydraulic Water Bladder of the Torrent Toad and her Torrent Breath skill. A steady, high pressure stream of pure, filtered water gushed out, filling the pool with a soothing rush until it brimd, reflecting the soft light around her.
For the heat, this was the crucial part. The boy ran in and stopped dead.
"Whoa... Mother, what is this? This place used to be just a pile of rocks. Now it’s like a palace! Is that... hot water? Why is it smoking?"
"It’s a hot spring, Sephiran."
Maddy said, stepping into the water in her princess form, feeling the heat soak into her tired muscles.
"It heals the body and clears the mind. And from the looks of those smudges on your face, you haven’t had a proper scrub in... well, ever."
"Do I have to?"
Sephiran asked, peering into the water with a mix of fear and curiosity.
"Get in here, you little rascal!"
Maddy laughed, scooping him up by the waist and plopping him into the shallow end. Sephiran yelped, then froze as the warmth hit him.
"AH! IT’S HOT!!! Wait... it’s not too hot... but so warm! Like... like that ti I was in your mouth, Mother!"

Maddy felt a chill that had nothing to do with the water.
"Wait... how far back does it go? When exactly did your mory start?"

Sephiran sank into the water until only his eyes were visible, blushing with sha.

She sank into the water as well, smiling at Sephiran and tickling him. He squealed, splashing out of the water and laughing. She climbed out after him and hugged him warmly.
"You’ve grown up fast, Sephiran... but no matter how big you get, or how many tis you act like a little rascal, I will always love you."
Sephiran hugged her back tightly, his small arms surprisingly strong.
"I’m glad you’re my mother. Even if you’re a worm sotis."
Maddy chuckled, holding him close.
"I’ll always be your mother, no matter what form I take. No matter how strange things get, you’ll always have . Always."
She rested her forehead against his, smiling softly.
"Now co on, let’s enjoy this bath together. Even a demonic ogre—demigod boy—needs a little pampering sotis. A baby boss has to sll good!"
Steam curled from the hot spring as Maddy and Sephiran splashed and played, the warmth seeping into their bones. Laughter echoed off the cavern walls as Maddy shifted back from her worm form, even adding parts of her ingested monsters to play with Sephiran.
