Taesan’s POV

I open the door of my waiting car and slide in.

My clothes are still the sa but more rumpled, my hair ssier and my chest heaving.

The rage was short lived but satisfying, the way he cried for rcy when I locked the door, the way he pounded on the door, the way his cries grew weak and finally shut up when I said: "if Sooin asks why you’re crying from my room, you will never have the breathe cry with again"

"You did not apologize" Junho says as he starts the engine, eting my eyes through the glass.

"What I do with my thief is my fucking business" I say, dismissing the beta and reminding him of his place, he needs to remind him once in a while that I am his lord and one-hour ago’s promise was conditional.

"You violated him" Junho says, voice chanical and hands on the wheel, he remains composed, knowing that I still have the power to end him even though I need him.

"It’s my black card he has in his wallet not yours, Jun" I say, my voice has dropped dangerously low as my alpha crouches territorially, teeth already bared and eyes already getting red.

"If I want to pin him to the floor and fuck him full of my seed, I have the power to" I add and Junho drops his eyes from the mirror, I see his jaw tick as he takes a controlled breath.

"You’re still in rut" he says in a softer tone.

It pisses off. I want him to fear , not analyze, decode and understand .

"Drive, beta" I say and he obeys quietly, twenty years of walking by my side has taught him when to act a fool and when to keep pressing, and now that I am in a state of post-rut and pre-grandfather visit, this is the ti to act a fool.

He stops at my grandfather’s little clothing store, where foolish people thrift, while other foolish people are being murdered right underground.

The other car that carries Yuki and her hitn also stops behind us and we step in together. in front, Junho by my right and Yuki with her n at the back.

My grandfather is sitting behind the counter with his dark shades on, hiding one blind eye and another good one, those eyes that have seen evil in every form, the eyes that taught to look carefully.

I sit in front of him and place the flash drive on the table.

"This is it" I say and his cracked lips lift in a smile, friendly, fake...a trap.

"How is Sooin?" he asks and I slap the table as I push myself up, "I fucking delivered what you want, keep her na out of your mouth" I shout and he throws his head back laughing as if this is a cody.

"Foolish bastard" he says and places his hands on the table.

"I heard there is a weak link in the team" he says and I pull out my gun, aiming at the head of the mber of my clan who brought the fake flash drive, the man moves too slowly and I pull the trigger.

"Not anymore" I hiss as he falls to the floor with a wet thud.

"Are you sure?" he asks and I force myself to take a deep breath, every stage of my life has a different stage of his torture, "yes grandfather" I say.

"You will end up as useless as your father, boy" he says and takes the drive from the table, he looks at it carefully before putting it down again, "your father-"

"Grandfather" I growl lowly.

He looks at the clock on the wall and nods, "you can go, school ti is over, Sooin must miss her father" he says and I turn around to leave the shop after giving a deep bow.

"Hurry and fix your weak link, Taesan, if enemies find it out...if I find out, Mountain Atelier will be without a fashion loving leader and Sooin might-"

I don’t wait for him to finish his sentence before storming out of the shop with my followers.

I pause by my car to address Yuki, I look at her tense figure and her folded fist, she already knows what I am about to ask for.

"Kill everyone that witnessed this exchange" I say to her and she nods once, eyes getting moist at having to kill her new batch of ’workers’, but it’s for the best.

To be cruel is to save and to be kind is to kill.

I return to my car, and I am driven to Sooin’s school; truly school ti has ended and she stands in front of the school with her teacher, watching other parents pick their children.

Guilt kills for bringing her into a world where no one dares to know about her, but this is what I am working to end, one step at a ti...wait a little princess, I will make everything right for you.

Junho gets out of the car to go pick her and I see the smile on her face as she spots her ’uncle Junnie’

The beta carries her in his arms and when she opens the door and sees , she squeals before jumping on , "Dad! You ca!" she says.

"Yes, yes princess, I ca for you" I whisper and kiss her head.

She sits next to and starts to chatter about her day, I don’t hear any of the things she says but I keep my arms around her, slling her comforting baby milk scent and nodding along like I understand.

"Sooinie, do you want ice-cream?" Junho asks and Sooin squeals again, "I like it!" she says as she claps her hands.

I et his eyes and see that he is trying to help us, always in the shadow to keep and my daughter’s relationship alive...knowing that I don’t know much about parenting.

"Dad, is daddy going to co too?" Sooin asks and I force a smile, "daddy is at ho waiting for us" I say.

"Yay! Like Keeho’s mom, Keeho’s mom always waits for him at ho, let’s buy ice cream for daddy too and! And! Let’s cuddle, you and daddy" she says with happiness and I chuckle.

"Yes Princess, we will do just that, we will do everything" I say and smooth her bangs.

Junho drives us to a shop, and I stay in the background, watching them play and eat sweets together, they look like father and daughter while I have to be on guard.

Being seen with her is putting a target on her innocent back.

Luckily Junho keeps her distracted and she doesn’t co to all through, she smiles, eats and never shuts up about ’daddy’, reminding to keep the thief alive.

I might not want him, but my pup does for so reason.

By the ti we return ho, Sooin has fallen asleep and I carry her to my own room; she asked for a cuddle with and the thief, and I will as promised.

I open the door of my room to find the little oga in a defensive sleep state on my cold floor; his body is folded with his arms around his knees.

After helping Sooin settle in for the night, I co to stand over his sleeping form, he looks so fucking pretty and not like a thief like this.

I’ll let his cri slide today, no, I’ll add it to his debt and make him pay.

I scoop him up in my arms and take him to my bed to lay him down, once his body touches the soft matress, he clings to my shirt and whimpers; "don’t leave "

His eyes are squeezed shut and his bottom lips trembling as he says the words but he doesn’t wake up.

"Fucking hell Shin Seoha, you have no idea what you are in, I’m not leaving you, and you’re not leaving either" I say quietly as I help him relax.

"The black card debt is only getting bigger and tomorrow...you will see the darker side. I swear on your life" I growl and unfold his fingers.
