Seoha’s POV
The car slls oddly clean as I get into it, there’s no other person here, it’s just and Taesan.
I sit next to him with my hands tucked between my legs and my breath partially held.
The alpha still scares , even when he looks ssy like this, his ssy man bun held back by a small black band, his eyes are red with exhaustion and the tiger tattoo peeking out of his sleeves.
He looks every bit a mafia Lord, a touch tired, but still...lordly.
"What are you staring at?" Taesan asks as he starts the engine and my eyes return to the hands between my legs.
"When I speak, you answer" he says with a quiet sigh and I gulp before answering, "you...you stayed three days in the hospital?" I ask and I notice his brow creasing.
He looks at briefly before taking his eyes off and looking forward.
"You were an unconscious oga in heat, was I supposed to leave you alone?" he asks , the question sounds logical but I can’t make any sense of it.
Is he trying to deepen my debt? I’m never really going to make it out alive, am I?
The thought of being stuck with soone as inhumane as Taesan for a long ti causes my scent to sour slightly, and the alpha doesn’t act as if he noticed, he just grips the steering wheel of the car.
"When we return to the mansion, you get to rest and we go straight to work, I have so questions for you and I hate living by assumptions" he states and starts to drive out of the hospital.
He has gone silent but my heart is starting to make noises that fills my entire head.
What can he possibly have to ask about?
Once we arrive in the house, he asks to get out and then he drives back out, leaving standing in his driveway in confusion.
What is going on? He ca just to drop off?
Before I can get out of my confused state, a female’s voice gets to and I am hugged by Jisu.
"Seoha-ssi!" the young girl looks deeply sorry as she pulls back slightly and examines my body.
"I’m so sorry, I didn’t know the pills would be that bad, I’m so so sorry" she says and she cups my cheeks, turning my head side to side in worry.
"Jisu-ah it’s okay, I’m okay" I murmur to ease her but she doesn’t stop, "I’m so sorry, I gave you the wrong one, I was in a hurry and didn’t check it well" she says and I sigh.
"I’m really fine now, the nurses took care of " I say softly and she lets out a sigh of relief.
"That’s a relief, the whole house’s routine has been turned upside down since you have been away" she says and I blink at her, "what do you an?" I ask.
"Sooin kept crying nonstop and boss only cos ho when Sooin has woken up to take her to school" Jisu leans in to whisper with a distant look on her face.
"I’m sorry for making everyone worry" I apologize and she smiles softly, "no, it’s nice to see boss care about soone finally" Jisu says.
Care? Taesan doesn’t care about .
The gates of the mansion opens up again and Taesan drives in, he parks the car and cos out of it with a brown paper bag in one hand and a crimson leather suitcase in the other.
The anxiety returns as he cos towards us, leaving to wonder if I’m not to interact with people, should I have gone into the house?
"Hello, sir" Jisu greets him with a deep bow and he nods at her, walking past her to stand in front of with the brown bag.
"Why are you still outside?" he asks.
"I- I was-"
"Get in" he says and keeps his eyes on , my oga whimpers in imdiate agreent and I turn around to go into the house, leaving Jisu behind.
Taesan walks closely behind and directs to the dining.
"Sit" he says and I sit in the chair, hands placed in my lap and my back straight as I wait for his next command to co.
The alpha places the brown paper bag in front of and sits across , the flat look on his face tells what I have to do next as I open the brown bag, bringing out the plates of als.
For ? He went to get food...for ?
I look up at him and I find him staring at , looking at as if he’s waiting for sothing.
"Thank you, Taesan-ssi" I say in a small voice and bow my head, the alpha doesn’t respond, he just waits for to start eating.
The first bite of gimbap is delicious and I eat so more.
The room is silent as the alpha watches eat, he doesn’t eat or talk, he just stares at .
Too hungry to worry, I savor each bite of gimbap, ttaeboki and beef, this is my first proper al in days.
Carried away by the delicious food, I close my eyes for a second and focus on the taste, the way flavorful beef is perfect in my mouth.
My tired body relaxes and I push a piece of tteokbokki into my mouth, the way the sauce coats my lips makes a soft moan of pleasure to slips out of my mouth.
I must have made a mistake, because there is a sudden spike in the alpha’s smoky scent and it causes to open my eyes and straighten my back.
Taesan pulls up the briefcase that he had dropped on the floor next to him and places it on the table.
"I gave you ti to rest and eat, it’s ti to work" he says and I nod, swallowing down the last bits of food in my mouth.
"Yes" I whisper before taking the bottle of water by my side to wash down the food I just had.
Almost like chasing away the brief second of sweetness for sterile, business-like hours with him.
"You know who I am now, don’t you" he says, dragging right back to where we stopped.
He’s not even giving the chance to choose when to be brought back to the harsh realities of my life.
’Beggars are not choosers’ my oga says.
Even worse, thieves have no options.
"Yes, sir" I say, pushing the empty dishes to the side slightly, and he nods, I see the red glowing in his eyes, subtle but there in its own silent and terrifying way.
This is the Kang Taesan I t at the hotel, not the Kang Taesan that bought the al and stayed with at the hospital, this is captain.
He picks a docunt and flips through it, from my point of view, I can already see so of the pictures...my own sketches?
"This person, Daeshin, I am told he is your boyfriend"
"Ex" I say quickly and Taesan flashes his eyes at , displeased with my interruption, "what happened?" he asks.
"He..." I start and it suddenly feels like my throat is closing up as I am hit again with the emotions that I have successfully dodged through unfortunate events.
"He used " I say and I watch as Taesan picks a picture from the files, subtly trying to keep it out of sight, but I have seen it.
