Seoha’s POV
Sooin’s little fingers squeeze my shirt tightly as I clean.
She ate the al up and won’t let go, the little girl keeps chattering as she walks closely to , she talks about her day at school, about her favorite color and about her father, her favorite person.
Her tiny high-pitched voice and the lisp in her words kill the worries dancing around in my head.
It is impossible to worry about death and life when this child lights up the entire room, at this point I’m not forcing my laughter and smile, I just love.
The sll of mild baby milk scent and my vanilla mixes together into a cozy and holy sll, and at so point Taesan leaves the room to both of us, taking the bag that contains my pictures with him.
"Sooin-ah, it’s ti to wash up, hmm?" I say and she pouts, "but if I wash up, I will get sleepy" she complains and I chuckle at her response.
"That’s a good thing, isn’t it? It’s good to sleep" I say and pat her head, with her hands still gripping my clothes, I take her upstairs in the direction of her room.
"Sorry, but you can’t pass through" a maid says and I pause, "ah...why? I just want to help her get washed" I say and the maid bows.
"You’ll have to let do it" a maid says and tries to take Sooin from but Sooin whimpers and hides her face in my stomach, "it’s really okay, I will take care of her by myself" I say politely and the maid’s eyes dart down the hall.
"The thing is...Choyeon-ssi is strict about Sooin’s routine, if she finds out that sothing has been compromised, she won’t like it" the maid says and Sooin shakes her head, "I don’t want aunty Choyeon" she whines.
"Sooin-ah...it’s just a bath" the maid says in a friendlier voice to convince the pup, but Sooin stubbornly refuses to move away from , "I want dad!" she says and even I don’t know what to do.
"I will tell my dad!" the child screams and the maid shrinks backwards at the sound of the door behind us opening.
"What’s wrong?" Taesan asks, coming out from the room behind us, he leans against the door fra with his arms folded across his chest, has taken off his shirt and his tattoos are on display.
I haven’t seen him like this in so long, so I imdiately divert my eyes to the floor at the feeling of heat creeping up my cheeks.
Taesan’s muscles are tense with veins bulging underneath his skin, and the musky sll of sweat coming from him makes realize that the room must be a gym.
"Dad, I want Daddy to bathe , I don’t want her, please" Sooin says as she runs to her dad and I see the maid’s expression morph into horror.
"Boss...I- I was just- Miss Choyeon said I should" she stutters and Taesan only stares at her flatly.
His eyes remain hooded and tired as he stares blankly.
"I’m sorry" she says and scurries away.
"Dad, what are you doing in there?" Sooin asks and tries to peek into the room making her alpha chuckle and place his hand on her head, "go bathe princess, you’re not escaping" he says and I stretch my hand to her.
"Use my bathroom, we are all sleeping there tonight" Taesan says and returns to the room.
’We will deal with it later’
"Yay! I like dad’s bed!" Sooin says and pulls into her dad’s room, the one space that is the last place I want to be.
I open the door for us and we get in, the room is clean and arranged, Sooin runs to the wardrobe and picks out her pajamas while I stare at the big bed.
The white spotless sheets bring a flash of my heat back, the way my scent was sweet and the way my lower part got wet with slick...
’Oh goddess’ I mutter and with a groan I cover my face with both of my palms in embarrassnt, and I turn around to look away from it, only to be faced with the big mirror in front of the bed.
The wide mirror front shows just how red I am from embarrassnt.
"Daddy, see, I look like you" Sooin says as she stands next to in front of the mirror with her hands on her waist.
We have similar doe-like brown eyes and brown hair, but everything else is her father’s...her mother must be the most beautiful person in the world, the thought makes wonder where she is.
"Co on" I say and take Sooin to the bathroom.
Taesan’s bathroom is not what I expected, the place is spacious and bright with floaties in different places, there are lines of child friendly products, and each one looks more expensive than the last.
He is really invested in fatherhood...a killer and a father.
"My mr duck!" Sooin squeals and picks up the toy, squeezing it to make squeak, "daddy, daddy see" she says and shoves it in my face.
Her childish innocence and pure joy are oblivious to how I’m dangling between dread and exhaustion, so has no idea how I’m just waiting to pass out but I still smile at her.
"Yes, it’s cute" I say quietly and she gasps.
"Haewon says I’m cute, daddy am I cute?" she asks and I pinch her cheek, "the cutest girl in the world" I whisper to her and finally help her get undressed and to sit in the bathtub.
Her little infectious giggles grow louder as she splashes around in the water.
Little Kang Sooin has no worries, and it makes envy her, I wish I could go back to my childhood and live a pure life again.
I help wash her up and dry her body, the little girl remains bubbly as I help her into the pajamas she chose from her dad’s wardrobe, and I braid her hair, getting her ready to finally go to sleep.
Once we are done, she yawns and climbs into the bed by herself and makes grabby hands for , her small whine moves my body as I climb in with her, still dressed in my clothes from four days ago but Sooin doesn’t care.
My oga purrs as Sooin hugs tightly and presses her nose into my neck.
"Daddy, be here when I wake up, please" she says, her voice sounds muffled but I hear her clearly, "I’ll be here, I promise" I say and she makes a happy noise.
"You always co to my dreams, but you always go when I wake up, I don’t want that" she says and my breath catches in my throat...how long?
How long will this last? Oh...this sweet child, it will kill to break her heart, I would rather die by Taesan hands than hurt her.
Sooin finally falls asleep with her nose still against my scent gland and her arms relax from holding so tightly.
The relaxing scent of a happy child fills my nostrils, and my eyes start to droop, the adrenaline from seeing her is over and the tiredness is setting in.
’We will deal with it later’ Taesan’s word returns to my head, and I force my eyes to stay open, but the warmth of the alpha’s mountain scent on the sheets makes even more sleepy and I give in.
It isn’t long after I fall asleep that the door opens, and I see a dark shadow by the door.
