Seoha’s POV
My daughter?
"Did you hit your head on your way here?" I ask with concern, holding his head and turning it from side to side.
What does he an by that? Is he drinking now?
"Minjae, what did I tell you about drinking on work days?" I ask and he takes my hands off his head, "open your eyes and get a mirror" he says.
"Seoha, that girl looks too much like you to be normal, those eyes are exactly the sa" he insists and I laugh nervously, "stop saying weird things, you know I’m a virgin"
"Were, Seoha, you were a virgin" Minjae corrects and I sigh, our first eting in a long ti shouldn’t go like this, we shouldn’t be having this strange conversation.
"Was a virgin, and so? Minnie-ya, if I have a kid, wouldn’t I be the first to know?" I ask and he opens his mouth to argue again.
"Are you watching cri shows again?" I ask and hug him, the oga places his hand on my lower back and leans into the hug, but I feel his dissatisfaction.
Minjae gives in and chooses to change the topic.
"I missed you, when are you coming back ho?" he asks in a soft voice, a voice that is too soft Minjae, "soon" I lie to him, and he sighs against my shoulder.
"I don’t like this" he mutters and I hold him properly, pressing our chests together so tight that I can feel his heartbeat, and I sll the milk in his soft jasmine.
Milk?
"Minjae-ya" I whisper in shock, and his body shakes in my hold, he has been making jokes and acting loud when he should be falling apart.
My best friend is pregnant.
"Seungmin doesn’t want it" he sobs and my own eyes well up with tears, "oh Minnie-ya" I say as my oga whines in pain, feeling the sting of rejection for the unborn pup.
"Minnie..." I whisper his na, not knowing what to say and his sobs grows louder, "he doesn’t want the baby, and I don’t want to give it up" he cries.
"We’ll figure it out" I murmur, lying to both and him. The situation takes to the only vivid mory I have from when I was a child.
Six years and hungry, I snuck out of bed to go see mom, she always practices her guitar and always reserves extra food for .
’Won’t you stay the night?’ she’s asking the stranger at the dining table, the man is eating her kimchi jjigae like it’s the first al he is having in days.
I stand at the door with my mouth shut and my heart racing, always a kid with anxiety, strangers scare .
It’s always just , mom, her guitar and grandma.
’I have work’ the man says after one minute of chewing, the length of silence wasn’t necessary, but mom still wore a smile.
’Seoha-" mom starts and the man slams the table with both hands.
"Damn it, Minji! Can’t I just have a damn dinner without you bringing that thing up?’ he asks in a harsh voice.
’Honey, that ’thing’ is your son’ mom says calmly and he gets up, wiping his mouth with the white napkin, he unintentionally tosses it in my direction, and I look at it with horror.
’Seoha-ya, what are you doing out of bed?’ mom asks with her hand over her mouth and the man looks up and down in a chilling way.
’What are you looking at?’ he growls at and I shut my eyes in fear.
’Mom, I’m scared’ I cry and mom rushes to shield , ’honey! don’t do that to him" she says defensively.
’I don’t know why you keep doing this to Minji, really, it was or the pup and you- I don’t even know why I’m here’ he says and leaves our ho without finishing his al, my reserved al.
’Honey!’ mom calls after him but he doesn’t co back, it’s until I turn sixteen that he suddenly realizes that he needs a son.
The souring of Minjae’s scent brings back to the room, he’s clinging to and I’m holding on to him with everything, I won’t let anything happen to him.
"I- I will find a way" I say and he chuckles wetly.
The oga pulls back and looks at with red eyes, "really? You are a mauled sex slave to a kidnapper, how are you going to save ?" he says and wipes the tears on my cheek.
"I’m not a sex slave" I say, managing to laugh despite the wetness of my face.
A knock on the door breaks our mont and we look at the door, Junho is standing there with a straight face, in his bodyguard mode.
"You are the motherfucker that kidnapped " Minjae throws at him and as he raises a brow, I push Minjae behind , "sorry, he’s just really ill-tempered" I apologize on his behalf.
"It’s ti to go back" Junho says and Minjae cringes, "are you going to put in a bag again?" he asks and when Junho doesn’t respond, he lets out a sigh.
"Fine, just, not too rough" he mutters and when Junho cos in, Minjae hugs again, "I’ll see you again, right?" he asks and I nod.
Almost reduced to tears again, we didn’t even get thirty minutes together, I didn’t even get to comfort him well enough.
My life now...
"Don’t cry, we will et again, I will find you" he says and kisses my cheek before shutting his eyes, calmly letting Junho put the bag over his head.
Junho gives a sorry look before carrying Minjae bridal style.
"At least I get princess treatnt" Minjae says and I laugh softly, I wish I can be like him, to laugh when everything is falling too fast.
"You own so many explanations, Seo, I love you" he yells and I wipe off the tear under my eye, that oga, how can anyone not love him?
Should I ask Junho to visit Seungmin for Minjae?
