"I don’t want to keep you busy. I know you have this... tournant to attend to, but I want to hear your answer tonight at the latest.
"I also know that your mother is also missing you."
Aizen said.
’She is...?’
Fang Raon frowned.
"I will give it a thought."
He said.
"Mm. I am glad that the treatnt worked. The money I paid for your treatnt didn’t go to waste, it looks like."
Aizen said and took a sip of the drink.
"...Money you paid for? What do you an?"
Fang Raon asked with a frown.
"Caretaker Facility. It was I who paid for your treatnt. It wasn’t the governnt. I made them lie about it, and they agreed after I gave them an offer they couldn’t refuse.
"You’re my son, after all. There is no way I could’ve left you to die in that garbage dump. I am truly glad that you are better now."
Aizen said.
’He was the one that paid for it all...’
Fang Raon thought with a surprise.
He gave a nod to his father, then he stood up and turned around to leave the room.
While walking, he noticed so people sitting near Aizen’s table. They were dressed casually, but they looked like they were on high alert.
They acted like they didn’t know Aizen or him, but he had a hunch who they were.
’Father’s bodyguards... Even in here... In Safe Zone... He is so paranoid that he’ll think an assassin is waiting behind every corner.’
Fang Raon thought.
It was very Aizen-like, he thought, as he couldn’t rember seeing him go anywhere without his bodyguards.
Fang Raon stepped down the stairs to head to the first floor, but then his way was blocked.
"You talked with Father."
Anna said with a smile.
"...Sister."
Fang Raon sighed and walked past her, but she wasn’t done talking to him, it seed, as she followed right behind him.
"What did he talk to you about?"
She asked.
"...That he is dying."
Fang Raon said.
"Hehe~"
Anna giggled.
It wasn’t news that was giggle-worthy, but it was Anna, after all, and she wasn’t exactly normal about these kinds of things.
"What else?"
Anna asked curiously.
She knew that there must be so other reason for Aizen to want to have a private talk with her dear brother.
"Sigh..."
Fang Raon walked to the balcony. Anna right behind him. And he stopped before he stepped into the rain.
"He wants to beco the new head of the Fang Family."
He said.
"..."
Anna looked at him in surprise, "You’re kidding, right?" But then she saw that her brother didn’t look like he was joking.
In that mont, she started smiling.
"Isn’t that amazing news?"
"Is it?"
Fang Raon raised an eyebrow and looked at her.
"Yes. Father is dying, which is good news, and you’ll beco head of the family, which is even better news.
"You can get rid of Raizen and Raikou, and then the two of us can lead the family together without anyone telling us what to do!"
Anna said in excitent.
"Father dying is good news?"
Fang Raon questioned.
He wasn’t all that surprised that Anna didn’t care that much about Aizen’s health, as she had been going against him for years now.
It didn’t seem like she liked anyone from the family, except him, of course, but even her affection for him was questionable at tis.
She was very... unpredictable.
"Who the fuck cares about him? He is just a piece of shit. However, I never expected him to make you into head of the family."
Anna said thoughtfully.
She thought that it was very strange.
"...He was acting very soft and loving..."
Fang Raon said.
"Him? Hahahaha! Yeah, he is definitely plotting sothing. He is not capable of loving anybody but himself!"
Anna shouted with a scoff.
"...I thought the sa. It feels very strange that he wants to be his heir. His disdain towards is evident in every interaction we have ever had."
Fang Raon said.
"What else did he say?"
Anna asked.
"...Told about how he paid for my treatnt. He initially kept it a secret and made the caretakers lie about it, so I have always thought that it was the governnt that had paid for it."
He said.
"That sounds just like Aizen. He wants you to feel indebted to him. Because that way, he can control you more easily."
Anna said.
"..."
Fang Raon frowned.
"Rember when I got abducted when I was a child?"
Anna asked.
"...Yes. I couldn’t possibly forget about it. It made all of us scared that we might get abducted next, so we were afraid to leave the village after that incident."
Fang Raon said.
"I think that abduction was a ruse. The kidnappers, I believe, were actors paid by Aizen, and then he ’heroically’ rescued so I would be eternally indebted to him.
"Then he could control ."
Anna said coldly.
"...Do you really think that he would go that far?"
Fang Raon asked.
It sounded very far-fetched, and even though they had a lot of trust problems against Aizen, they couldn’t imagine him going that far.
"It’s easier to control a child’s mind. You know how scared I was after that incident, but I managed to escape his mind-control attempt.
"Rember the thing with Raikou? When he was a child, the family doctor diagnosed him with a deadly virus.
"Said to be incurable... And sohow, our Father ’found’ the cure and saved him. Since that day, Raikou has been his loyal dog."
Anna said with a scoff.
"Now that I think about it... The sa thing happened with Raizen. He and Mother were supposed to head to Warm Regions for a holiday, but sohow, Raizen ended up on the wrong plane.
"Instead of Warm Region, he ended up over at Cold Region, and he was all alone for days until Aizen ca to get him back to safety."
Fang Raon said.
"Yes. You cannot trust Father. I am the only one you can trust, brother. Maybe Father is not even dying.
"You cannot trust a word he says."
Anna said and tried grabbing Fang Raon’s hand, but he dodged her hand and walked towards the door.
"I don’t know..."
Fang Raon said with a conflicted look.
Anna looked at her hand, which failed to grab his hand, and she pouted, feeling so frustration swelling inside her.
"I don’t know what Father wants, but maybe... you should co back ho."
She said.
"I honestly don’t want to be anywhere close to him. Whether he is being truthful or not, I don’t want to go back to that poisonous den.
"I feel happy where I am currently."
Fang Raon said.
"Father won’t take no for an answer, and you know that. He’ll find a way to kick you out of that apartnt of yours.
"Co ho. If you beco the head of the family, I’ll be there to support you so that our brothers can’t do anything.
"And if he is lying about dying and has so ulterior motive against you, I will also be there for you. I won’t let him do anything."
Anna said.
"...How is Mother doing?"
Fang Raon asked.
"What about her? She is barely spending any ti with the family. She is just over in that kindergarten of hers. She likes being with other people’s children more instead of her own."
Anna said with a scoff.
"Father said that she is missing . I have a hard ti believing that. Does she even rember that I exist?"
Fang Raon asked.
"I don’t know, and why do you care? You don’t need her for anything. She is just a woman who birthed you, that’s all."
Anna said.
"...Hmm."
Fang Raon sighed, then he opened the balcony door with the intention of leaving, but before leaving, he still had sothing to say.
"Did you enjoy the fight?"
He asked.
"...Fight? What do you an?"
Anna asked with a frown.
"I saw you watch fighting Raikou. I hope you had fun."
Fang Raon said coldly.
"That’s... I planned to stop the fight if it went too far. I was never going to let him hurt you, you know that."
Anna said with a slight panic in her eyes.
"Sister... sister..."
Fang Raon clicked his tongue, and he then turned around and slow-walked towards her.
She didn’t move, but her face showed so panic, and she opened her mouth to explain herself.
Before she could say anything, Fang Raon suddenly hugged her, and she turned completely silent and looked like she lted in his arms.
"Brother..."
She whispered.
"I already told you, sister. Stay away from ."
Fang Raon said coldly.
In that mont, he grabbed her shoulders and pushed her over the railing of the balcony.
She looked shocked as she suddenly felt light. She was falling. And she saw her brother watching her fall with an emotionless face.
"Ah... Brother..."
Anna suddenly smiled wickedly, and she landed down below, but she didn’t hit the cold, hard pavent.
Instead, she fell right into a wagon that was right below. The wagon had so soft hay that cushioned her fall.
"You’ve always been soft towards , dear brother..."
Anna giggled happily and watched as her brother left the balcony.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
The players close by looked at her with strange expressions as they just saw so crazy young woman laughing like she had lost her mind.
