Now reading: Chapter 348 - 348 Kisaragi Shin’etsu from Bleach: The Strongest Shinigami, Hitsugaya Toshiro, a Action novel by GodofChicken.

After Toshiro and Shusuke left, the 3rd Division's mbers started discussing again.

"Captain Hitsugaya is so strong!"

"When he actually counterattacked, he defeated the new Captain with just one move. Would you call that an instant defeat?"

"As expected of one of the strongest Shinigami in the Soul Society, an existence whose strength rivals the Captain-Commander. Captain Hitsugaya is truly amazing."

"The new Captain still lost..."

"But I think although the new Captain lost, his strength seems pretty decent..."

"Yeah, indeed. I've also seen the strength of other division Captains. Honestly, the new Captain doesn't seem inferior to them..."

"Makes sense. The reason the new Captain lost isn't that he's too weak, but that Captain Hitsugaya is too strong..."

"Although it's still hard to accept him, as a Captain, his strength is enough after all..."

Although the 3rd Division's mbers still felt so resistance towards Shusuke, through this battle, they acknowledged his strength as a Captain. Then, as long as Shusuke continued to work hard, he would eventually be fully accepted by the 3rd Division's mbers.

And this was precisely the reason Toshiro specifically chose to fight Shusuke at the 3rd Division.

In front of a tranquil lake within the Seireitei.

"You followed after all, Shusuke."

Toshiro stood before the lake, his back to Shusuke.

"What is this so-called truth you speak of, Hitsugaya Toshiro?"

Shusuke asked.

"Ah, so cold, Amagai. Before, it was 'Commander-in-Chief Hitsugaya' and 'Captain Hitsugaya', but now you're calling by my full na."

Toshiro teased.

Shusuke said impatiently, "What exactly are you trying to..."

"Alright, alright, no more jokes. Let's get straight to the point and talk about your father."

Toshiro waved his hand.

"Your real enemy is not Captain-Commander Yamamoto, but Gyokaku Kumoi of the Kasumioji Clan!"

Toshiro said solemnly.

Seeing Shusuke open his mouth as if to say sothing, Toshiro directly interrupted: "Don't argue yet. Listen to finish first!"

"You should know that your father, Kisaragi Shin'etsu, was Captain-Commander Yamamoto's disciple and subordinate. Actually, I also studied Kendo under Captain-Commander Yamamoto and privately call him Genryusai-sensei directly. So, although I've never t your father, we could be considered fellow disciples."

"Back then, Kumoi misused the Kasumioji Clan's weapon manufacturing technology to develop the Bakkoto and derangedly conducted human experints with it. Genryusai-sensei sensed this and wanted to investigate the Kasumioji Clan. However..."

"The Central 46, citing the Kasumioji Clan's extraterritoriality, refused to let Genryusai-sensei continue his investigation into the clan. Nevertheless..."

"Your father, Kisaragi Shin'etsu, as Genryusai-sensei's disciple and subordinate, volunteered to infiltrate the Kasumioji Clan for a secret investigation."

"Unfortunately... your father, Kisaragi Shin'etsu, was eventually captured by Kumoi. Kumoi used him for human experints, making him a victim of the Bakkoto."

"Finally, Kumoi ordered Kisaragi Shin'etsu, now controlled by the Bakkoto, to kill the person who sent him to investigate..."

"Then ca that heartbreaking incident… Kisaragi Shin'etsu, a victim of the Bakkoto, died at the hands of Genryusai-sensei..."

"Can you understand the feeling of Genryusai-sensei, who killed his own beloved disciple and excellent subordinate with his own hands?"

"The truth about your father, Kisaragi Shin'etsu's death, was a secret that could not be revealed to both Genryusai-sensei and Kumoi."

"Neither the matter of the Bakkoto nor the secret investigation into the Kasumioji Clan against Central 46's orders could be made public."

"Therefore, the two, each holding leverage over the other, could only choose to conceal this matter. So your father's situation was not made public. Afterwards, Genryusai-sensei also ostensibly resud relations with the Kasumioji Clan."

Hearing Toshiro's words, Shusuke stood there stunned, his mind shaken.

"Is... is what you said true?"

Shusuke asked incredulously.

"Mm, regrettably, it is indeed true. After that incident back then, Genryusai-sensei rarely spoke of it to others. Only his close disciples knew about it."

"Although I hadn't yet studied under Genryusai-sensei at that ti, and wasn't even a Shinigami, I later heard about this matter from Captain Kyoraku..."

Toshiro explained.

Toshiro wasn't lying about this point. Toshiro could be considered Yamamoto's student, and a fellow disciple of Kyoraku and Ukitake. So Kyoraku had proactively ntioned this matter to Toshiro.

"Is that the truth? How can this be? How can this be? How can this be..."

Shusuke frantically denied, unwilling to believe it.

If this was the truth, then his enemy was not Yamamoto, but Gyokaku Kumoi.

But if that was the case, then what was all this frantic training for over the years? What was the purpose of painstakingly planning revenge all these years? And what did it an that he had ended up colluding with his real enemy for the sake of revenge?

Thinking of these, Shusuke couldn't help but feel on the verge of a ntal collapse.

"You must be lying! How could my enemy not be Yamamoto!"

Shusuke shouted, unwilling to believe it.

"Shusuke! Calm down! Your enemy is not Genryusai-sensei, but Kumoi!"

Toshiro shouted loudly.

"No! I don't belie..."

Just as Shusuke was about to deny it, he suddenly thought of sothing, and those words of denial could no longer be spoken.

Even though many years had passed, Shusuke still rembered one sentence his father said before he died… 'Beware the Bakkoto'.

At the ti, Shusuke hadn't truly understood the aning of these words, rely regarding the Bakkoto as a clue for investigation.

Eventually, based on so vague clues, Shusuke arbitrarily concluded that Yamamoto had colluded with Kumoi and participated in the developnt of the Bakkoto.

But now, combining Toshiro's explanation, the words Shin'etsu spoke before his death made sense.

Toshiro's account and the words of Shin'etsu on his deathbed corroborated each other. The result was obvious: Shusuke's enemy was not Yamamoto, but Gyokaku Kumoi.

Thud!

Shusuke's spirit collapsed, and he fell to his knees.

"What... what have I done? I actually colluded with my true enemy... How ironic is this..."

Shusuke murmured to himself.

To kill Yamamoto, Shusuke had been in contact with Kumoi for a long ti, obtaining the Bakkoto from him.

Thinking about how he had mistakenly regarded Yamamoto as his enemy, scheming to kill him, even colluding with Kumoi, only for reality to slap him hard with the truth, telling him that Kumoi was his real enemy...

It was indeed a very ironic thing.

Seeing Shusuke kneeling on the ground in a daze, Toshiro couldn't help but frown and said, "Hey, Amagai, are you okay?"

But Shusuke remained kneeling there, silent.

"Amagai, now you know that Kumoi is your father's murderer. Don't you want to take revenge on him?"

Hearing Toshiro's words, Shusuke's body couldn't help but tremble slightly.

"Ha!"

Toshiro couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. A reaction was good. In the ani, after learning the truth, Shusuke directly chose to end his own life.

Now Toshiro was really worried that Shusuke might not be able to handle it and choose suicide.

"You should want to avenge your father, right? So pull yourself together, Amagai."

Toshiro comforted him.

Hearing Toshiro's words, Shusuke finally stood up from the ground.

"What should I do to get revenge, Captain Hitsugaya?"

Shusuke looked at Toshiro.

"Amagai, you are now the Captain of the 3rd Division. Every action you take represents the Gotei 13. So you must not act recklessly, rushing off to fight Kumoi in a fit of passion. We need to carefully consider the matter of revenge. As for you, right now..."

"You should go back and rest properly."

Shusuke had just fought a battle with Toshiro and then suddenly learned the truth about his father's death, suffering a great ntal blow.

His current state was very unstable, unsuitable for discussing matters. In fact, Toshiro was worried that if he didn't calm down properly, he might directly collapse.

"Alright, don't ntion what I told you for now. After you've cald down, co find to discuss it."

With that, Toshiro turned and left, heading back to the 10th Division.

Shusuke stood there alone for who knows how long, then also mustered his spirits and walked towards the 3rd Division.
