Nyx was humming to herself a forgotten tune from an empire long since dead.
Her mood was rather jovial as she packed her bags for an extended stay on earth.
Nearby, Nesis was watching her mother as she fritzed about the room like a fairy.
"You seem... unreasonably happy." She finally pointed out.
"And what makes you say that?" Nyx arched a brow.
Nesis just looked down at the plush toys that Nyx was packing.
"What, this?" She realized. "This is just a ans to an end. My grandbaby is in dire need of new toys, and I fabricated the best ones I could find online." Nyx stuck out her chest with pride.
"Are you doing this so that you can attempt to win back her affections from Bianca's father?"
"Are you in my business?"
"I believe so."
Nyx just rolled her eyes as she continued packing.
Nesis walked over to her mother's bed and sat down leisurely. She poked at one of Cami's toys to be that was still in the box.
"You've spun the heavens into quite the fit, you know...? None of the others really seem to know what to do without humanity to watch and observe."
Nyx rolled her eyes. "Please, spare such drivel. It isn't as if everyone was sticking to their duties perfectly before. Most of them were busy with their own realms and reveling in various acts of debauchery."
Before the ga had started, the gods hadn't looked at earth in hundreds of years.
Each pantheon had their own realms with their own subjects and their own petty squabbles to pay attention to.
The only ones who would truly be affected in the long run were those very small few who had ford a relationship with their chosen, or the evil deities like Lucifer who would be forced back into prison.
But Nyx didn't care about that. She didn't care about any of them.
All that mattered to her was that her son was safe. That her granddaughter was safe.
Nesis raised her brow as if she couldn't believe her mother was the one to talk about debaucherous antics.
Nyx saw the look she was giving her and snatched away Camille's toy and hit her on top of the head with it.
"You're quite the cheeky little thing today, aren't you?" She chided. "Perhaps you're acting out because your mother is going on vacation without you?"
Nesis rolled her eyes. "As if I would fall so low. Besides, if the mood struck then-"
Nyx suddenly raised her hand and Nesis halted her speech.
A serious look ford on the night goddess' face. Her appearance went from that of a dark-skinned woman with curly hair to a paler iteration with straight locks that ran down her back.
Her clothes went from a comfortable sweater to a long, regal dress that sparkled like stars in the sky.
She abandoned her pursuit of packing and sauntered out of the room. Nesis, with nothing else to do, decided to follow behind her.
As soon as Nyx opened the door, there was a flash of light that was near blinding.
From the balcony overlooking her living room, Nyx peered down at the brightly glowing mass standing in the middle of the foyer.
As she walked down the steps, her eyes never left the small sun that had appeared in her ho.
"When you found no welco sign upon your arrival, you should have taken that to an that I wasn't in the mood to harbor guests."

Nyx remained unmoved as she saw a woman who looked just like her staring back at her with green eyes that were unusually hard and unfeeling.
Her long blonde hair crested against the floor gently alongside her white dress.
"You must be feeling.. victorious."
"I usually am." Nyx admitted. "You'll have to be more specific with your pronouncents."
Hera bit her lip.
"You did this... You are the reason no one can access the earth anymore."
"Are you hard of hearing? That was the big man's decree, I hadn't a thing to do with it." Nyx turned her head.
"Don't pile your useless drivel into my ears. The creator had many opportunities to stop the ga before, yet he never bothered to lift his hand in it's direction. You want to believe that he just suddenly took a backstep from his vow of non-interference for no reason at all?"
"He very well could have. Mysterious ways and all that."
"I said don't lie to !" Hera yelled.
Nyx stared at her daughter dangerously.
"You co into my domain and make these obnoxious accusations without so much as a shred of proof to make them seem even slightly credible, and then you have the gall to make demands of as well? You forget yourself."
Hera bit her lip until the taste of her own blood filled her mouth. She hated feeling this week. This lowly.
She especially hated feeling this way in front of her greatest enemy.
But parents understood that there were certain things of greater significance than one's pride.
Hera gathered up her dress in bunches and dropped down to her knees.
She lowered her head until it touched the ground and spoke to her mother through gritted teeth.
"Please… I need to be able to see my son. I know you wouldn't just let earth be closed off without having soway to reach those two, so if you could please… treat as if I am your daughter just this once…!"
She heard the sound of Nyx's heels clicking closer to her.
The goddess shut her eyes tightly, as if she were waiting to feel her mother's heel against the back of her head. It certainly wouldn't be the first ti.
But the reality was sohow much worse.
Nyx grabbed her roughly by the jaw and forced her to look up.
Her eyes were completely devoid of light. Or of love in any capacity.
Just the sa as when she left ho all those eons ago. She felt foolish for ever praying for sothing different.
"Even if such a thing were to exist.. I have no children who would try to kill their siblings."
"Mother.."
"Please, not now, Nesis." Nyx responded without looking up.
The red haired goddess stood still atop the balcony, closing her mouth and heart to the scene below.
"Get out." Nyx roughly shoved Hera's face aside and stood back up. "Don't ever appear before again or I will see to it that you are flayed ali-"
"Mom..?"
Nyx felt her chest tighten uncontrollably.
Turning around, she smiled nervously as she tried to hide Hera from view with her own body.
Aubrey had slipped into the realm at so point, along with a red-haired woman who she seed to be rather close to. It took Nyx an embarrassingly long amount of ti to rember the woman's na was Jasmine.
"Aubrey-Honey… I need you to give a mont, and-"
"That's how you did it…" Hera said in shock.
The blonde haired goddess stood up and slowly pointed a trembling finger at the red-haired woman holding hands with Aubrey.
"That.. that's one of his..!"
Jasmine scratched the back of her head in embarrassnt.
"Maybe… we should have just co over a little bit later."
