The hunting sessions would be reduced from one session a week, to one session a month, or even longer, if they landed a big kill! The people will be a lot safer, so they can avoid unnecessary deaths, but furthermore, if they killed a large herbivore, they’d be all set for the winter.

His philosophy on the matter surrounded small fractions of history from back on Earth. Or, his interpretation of the social aspects of history, when people started practicing agriculture.

He thought, ’If people don’t worry about food, they get creative, and hopefully innovative. Maybe there’s a fine man or woman, who’s this world’s version of a Nikola Tesla hiding here, worried about their next al? I’m gonna feed my people well, and hopefully discover one or two geniuses. Even one would be good, especially after I boost their brains, and they may as well be fucking good, because I sure as hell don’t know how to turn a rock into a computer chip.’

This was his foolproof plan in case the secrets behind that steel door had nothing to offer. He was preparing for the worst, by trying to make everyone’s lives significantly easier.

The hunt for salt was only the beginning of a much greater plan.
