"That’s no water dinosaur," Anna said.

A small pair of eyes was staring at them from within the depths of the river. It was easy to confuse it as an aquatic creature, but Anna knew better. She knew that fully aquatic animals didn’t usually poke their head out of the water, not unless the water was very shallow, which in this case, it was not. The river was several ters deep.

If this dinosaur was keeping its head out of the water, it was because it had to. It had to breathe, and it had likely been on the hunt for fish and such before she and Gaark caught its attention.

"Grab your spear," She kept her voice low, "And slowly back away. We can’t risk fighting this bastard now, we don’t have Jimmy to heal us if shit hits the fan."

"Shit hits the fan..." He repeated, and then he whispered, "What are you saying...?"

Anna did not answer. She backed up, and everyone, including their tall pets, followed suit. She was sure that the QTs would put their lives at risk to save their masters, but she didn’t want the situation to devolve to that.

If either one of the QTs got bit, flying out of here would be out of the question. Ho was three-hundred miles west, so it would take weeks, if not months to get back ho if they were stranded out here. Getting help would be completely out of the question.

The four of them backed up, but the dinosaur that swam in the river saw this as a weakness. It slowly swam out of the waters, and as it grounded itself, and walked out of the river, Anna imdiately recognized its species.

"galosaurus Bucklandii," She whispered, "A headass as good as any."

This particular species of dinosaur was famous back on Earth for being the first dinosaur to be officially nad. Its first sketches made it look like a neckless, big-jawed platypus, humorous really, but she had a live example of how wrong those first sketches were.

This thing looked like a mini T-Rex. It was about seven tis lighter than a T-Rex, and it wasn’t nearly as tall, but it could sure as hell land a nasty bite if it wanted to! Although small for an apex predator, its jaw was as big as that of an Allosaurus Fragilis (Gutaxun’s species) by comparison!

"Looks like we have to fight this thing," Gaark pointed out. "Do you have a plan?"

"Plan?" She repeated, "No."

At this point, the big, brown-scaled dinosaur was charging at them. It was confident that it could take down two QTs that were nearly twice its height!

Likewise, Anna and Gaark didn’t even have enough ti to climb on their pets and dash. They were running out of options.

The rushing steps of the one ton beast shook the ground. It charged towards them fearlessly, ready to claim its biggest al of the day!

Anna aid at its head. She had one spear on her hand, and she wanted to ti her shot just right, hoping to use her Dinosaur Strength to crush the beast’s skull, and neutralize the threat for good.

Gaark had another idea in mind. He was done backing up, and much like the beast, he charged forward!

Once he was a few ters away from it, he leaped up as high as he could, a total of five ters, or sixteen feet, avoiding the beast’s jaw by just a few feet before he flew above it.

He flew above its head, and then, with all his strength, and with all the montum he had built up, he shifted his weight forwards, and bashed his spear right on top of the beast’s head!

As a result, he landed on the dinosaur’s head, nearly killing himself in the process. Not only did he avoid, by luck, landing on the tail of the spear head first, but he also had to hang on the dinosaur’s head as it jerked its head around left and right, panicking, and unsure what was putting such a great amount of pressure on its skull!

Seconds later, the dinosaur lost its motor functions, and fell sideways. Gaark was nearly crushed under the dinosaur as it fell, but thankfully, he managed to ground his feet at the last mont, and perford an athletic leap before the dinosaur crashed.

He rolled around the grass a few tis, but he was fine. Contrary to what was expected, he didn’t break a single bone.

"Haha!" He stood up, and danced like an ape, "That’s how you do it!"

Anna was scared out of her mind. She wasn’t scared for herself, but for Gaark. What he did just there was trendously dangerous, and he could’ve died by a broken spine at least!

"Are you insane?!" She shouted at him, "One wrong move and you could’ve been bit in half you fucking idiot! What would I tell Jimmy if you died, or your parents? Hannah? Do you think about the people you love at all?"

"Calm down," He stopped dancing, "This isn’t my first ti eting a Mud Dino eye to eye. I’ve killed seventeen of them before, this one is my eighteenth."

Anna did not want to hear it. She was fuming, but after a while, she cald down. She looked at the situation a second ti, rationally, looking at the safety of everyone from a different perspective.

This was when she realized that Gaark only did a more frantic approach to what she initially planned. They both wanted to kill the dinosaur in one blow, strike its head, and the only difference was that Gaark got uncomfortably close to its head. He achieved the sa result, and kept everyone else away from danger, just as she herself had planned to do.

With that said, she approached him, and patted him on the back, "Sorry for lashing out on you, Gaark. I just made a lot of promises to our people back ho, and I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if sothing happened to you."

"Don’t worry, I’ve been scolded worse before." He chuckled, "But you need to understand, I’m not the sa Gaark you found in that tribe. Yes... I rember the people eaters, but don’t worry, my head is alright, it’s sharp, and clear. I’m not a defenseless, fat moron anymore, Anna. Well, I’m still fat, but still, I hope you will see as an equal one day."

"I will keep calling you froggy," She smiled, "But from now on, I’ll call you froggy as a complint, not an insult. You really showed that fat bastard who’s boss."

"I can work with that," He chuckled. "Now, let’s eat. All that yelling of yours must’ve worked up an appetite."
