Aurora stared at Emily in disbelief. Her mind struggled to process what she had just heard.

"What do you an, Sophia betrayed us?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Emily wiped her tears with trembling fingers, her expression filled with pain and anger.

"She was poached by a billionaire, Aurora. And because of that, she turned her back on ... on us."

Aurora’s brows furrowed. "A billionaire? Who? And what does he have to do with your justice?"

Emily took a shaky breath and forced herself to explain.

"His na is Victor Hawthorne. A ruthless, cunning man with more power and influence than we could have ever imagined. And do you know what the worst part is?"

Aurora’s heart pounded in her chest. "What?"

Emily let out a bitter laugh, her eyes dark with fury.

"It turns out that my ex-husband, George, is his illegitimate son."

Aurora’s mouth went dry. "What?"

Emily nodded, her voice trembling with barely contained rage.

"George’s mother was once Victor’s mistress. He had abandoned her years ago, but when he found out that he had an illegitimate son, he decided to acknowledge him.

And as if that wasn’t bad enough, he also took in the Lancaster family and the Winston family."

Aurora clenched her fists.

"So he’s protecting them?"

"More than that," Emily spat.

"He’s shielding them, funding them, making sure they have everything they need to thrive while people like are left to suffer

"Strange," Aurora muttered.

Was this so kind of plot armor?

However...the Lancaster family and the Winston weren’t any big characters according to her dreams...

But then again, she didn’t know the male lead and all the other characters in her dreams properly and only vaguely knew their nas.

Aurora’s mind reeled.

"But Sophia... she wouldn’t betray us, right? If it’s about money, we don’t lack money either..."

Emily let out a sharp, bitter laugh.

"That’s what I thought too. But money and power change people, Aurora. Victor offered her everything—prestige, wealth, resources she could never have imagined.

And in return, she turned her back on . On my case. On my daughter."

Aurora felt a cold chill crawl down her spine. "She refused to help you?"

Emily’s jaw clenched.

"Not just refused. She buried my case. Do you know what it’s like to fight so hard for justice, only to be completely shut out?

I had everything prepared—evidence, testimonies, proof that George was responsible for everything.

But the mont Sophia joined Victor, every door slamd shut. No lawyer would take my case. No judge would hear it.

Every piece of evidence I had was dismissed, twisted, or outright erased. And worst of all? George is still walking free. Living in luxury, while my daughter..."

She trailed off, her body shaking with grief and fury.

Aurora took a deep breath. For so reason, she wasn’t surprised.

Maybe it was because of the way Sophia had agreed to take her case when Aurora offered to pay triple the amount of money and refused to even care for Gray Winston, who could only pay double the amount of money.

Or maybe it was because of how Aurora knew that Sophia was an ambitious person.

After Emily cald down, she muttered an apology,

"I am sorry...I was just a bit out of control."

Aurora waved her hand and said,

"It’s alright. It must have been a painful experience for you, too."

In her heart, she muttered,

’Don’t worry, I will take revenge on your behalf.’

A hint of sadness appeared in Aurora’s heart. During her coma, Emily often used to place Aurora’s hand on her(Emily’s) stomach.

Sotis the little girl even kicked her and she felt it.

To say she was disappointed would be an understatent.

Emily decided to change the subject and said,

"I will start with the financial aspects. The real estate under your na was rented out and you have earned a total of $7.2 million by now.

The prices of real estate have risen by 12%, which ans your current real estate assets have risen by $6 million.

The gold investnt has risen to $44 million.

The dividend shares had given out the dividend of $4.2 million, and the price of shares has risen to $29 million, the total cos out to $32.3 million."

Aurora was stunned and did a quick calculation in her heart.

With the remaining amount in her card and her own total assets, Aurora had approximately $200 million!

Emily exhaled deeply and looked at Aurora with an apologetic expression.

"I should have asked you first. I’m sorry, Aurora. But I truly believed this was a good investnt."

Aurora frowned,

"What do you an?"

"I...I gave the $60 million to a professional investor."

Aurora’s heart clenched.

"You gave away $60 million just like that?" Her voice was sharper than she intended, but she couldn’t help the frustration creeping in.

Emily shook her head quickly.

"No, I didn’t just give it away. I entrusted it to a professional investor, soone with a solid track record. He proposed investing in comrcial properties—shops and clubs—under your na."

Aurora felt a lump in her throat.

"So... all of it is gone?"

Her fingers tightened around the bedsheet.

She understood the concept of investnt, but she had just woken up to an entirely different financial reality.

Emily hurried to clarify, shaking her head.

"Not at all! In fact, it’s been doing extrely well. The businesses are thriving, and the properties have increased in value. Right now, your shops and clubs are generating a steady monthly profit of $500,000."

Aurora’s lips parted in shock.

"Half a million... per month?"

Emily nodded.

"Yes. The locations were chosen strategically, and the marketing was handled exceptionally well. They’ve beco go-to spots in their respective areas, attracting a loyal clientele."

Aurora’s initial frustration softened as the realization set in.

That was a considerable return, and the inco would continue flowing in. She motioned for Emily to continue.

Emily’s gaze brightened slightly, as if relieved that Aurora wasn’t entirely upset.
