Aurora wasn’t in a condition to answer him and fainted.
The young man’s eyes widened as Aurora’s body suddenly went limp.
"Hey, Aurora—!" He quickly caught her before she hit the floor, his strong arms holding her up.
Her face was pale, her breathing uneven. She was completely unconscious.
The hallway was empty—no teachers, no students. Just him, Aurora, and the dark classroom still filled with crawling insects.
The young man frowned, his blue eyes flashing with anger.
Who would do sothing like this?
But now wasn’t the ti to think about that. He needed to get her help.
Carefully, he adjusted his grip and lifted her into his arms. She was lighter than he expected, her body still shaking slightly.
As he carried her down the hallway, he could feel the rapid beat of her heart. She must have been truly terrified.
"Hang in there," he muttered, walking quickly toward the nurse’s office.

By the ti Aurora woke up, she was lying on a soft bed. The room slled clean, like dicine and fresh linen.
Sunlight stread through the window, making her squint.
Where... am I?
She blinked and slowly turned her head.
A woman in a white coat sat nearby, reading a book. She looked up when she noticed Aurora moving.
"You’re awake," the woman said with a gentle smile. "How are you feeling?"
Aurora tried to sit up, but her body felt weak. "I... I’m fine."
The woman gave her a knowing look.
"You fainted from shock. A student brought you here just in ti. Wait here, I will call him for you."
With that, she turned and left the room.
A student?
Aurora’s mory was still a little foggy, but then she rembered—black hair, blue eyes, a calm voice.
The young man!
Before she could ask about him, the door opened.
And there he was.
He stepped inside, his expression unreadable.
Though Aurora didn’t know if he was the one who had saved her or not, he had the sa black hair and blue eyes.
He was wearing a white hoodie, and from his skinny fra, Aurora doubted how he was able to carry her to the infirmary.
"Are you the one who saved ?" She asked.
The young man paused for a brief mont before nodding.
"Thank you so much. May I know your na?" Aurora asked.
The young man looked at her for a mont before answering.
"...Zane."
Aurora blinked. "Zane?" She repeated his na, as if testing how it sounded.
He gave a small nod and sat down on the chair beside her bed. His blue eyes studied her, sharp and serious.
"You should rest," Zane said. "You still look pale."
Aurora frowned. "I said I’m fine." She tried to sit up again, but her body still felt weak.
Zane sighed. "Sure, and that’s why you fainted a few minutes ago."
Aurora didn’t answer. Thinking about what had happened, her expression turned ugly.
Surely, soone had done all those things intentionally.
"Are you thinking about the culprits? Forget them."
Aurora’s eyes widened slightly. "Forget them?" she repeated, her voice quiet but laced with disbelief.
Zane gave her a casual shrug.
"Yeah. I an, co on, Aurora. It’s just a prank. You know how high school is—kids do stupid things all the ti."
He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Aurora stared at him, her expression darkening. "A prank?" she echoed.
Zane nodded.
"Yeah. I an, sure, it got a little out of hand, but it’s not like they actually ant to hurt you. Maybe they just wanted to scare you a little. It’s normal.
Everyone goes through stuff like this at so point. If you make a big deal out of it, you’ll just look weak. You don’t want to be that person, right?"
Aurora’s fingers gripped the blanket over her lap.
"You think locking in a room full of insects was harmless? That making feel trapped, terrified, and helpless was just a joke?"
Zane sighed.
"Look, I get that you’re upset, but trust , if you start pointing fingers, it’ll just cause more trouble.
Maybe they’ll even say you’re overreacting. It’s better to just laugh it off and move on. What’s the point of dragging this out?"
Aurora’s stomach twisted in anger.
Her hands balled into fists as she looked at Zane, who still had that relaxed, almost amused expression.
Was he seriously defending those girls?
Her lips curled into a bitter smile.
"You sure are talking a lot for soone who wasn’t the victim."
Zane blinked, taken aback by the sudden shift in her tone.
"I’m just saying it’s not worth it to—"
Aurora cut him off with a chuckle. A soft, humorless sound that made Zane hesitate.
"Zane," she said, looking him straight in the eyes, her expression calm despite the anger simring beneath it.
"You should leave."
His eyebrows furrowed. "What?"
"You heard ," Aurora said, her voice sharper this ti.
"I appreciate that you saved . Really, I do. And because of that, I won’t press charges against you. That should be enough rcy for you."
Zane’s whole body tensed. "? Why would you—?"
Aurora tilted her head.
"You’re defending them too much," she said, her voice almost amused.
"Too much for soone who’s supposedly just a bystander. And you knew the door was locked from the outside before I even told you. Almost like you already knew what happened."
Zane’s lips parted slightly, but no words ca out. His blue eyes flickered with sothing unreadable.
Aurora leaned back against the pillows, her smirk growing.
"Go on. You should leave before I change my mind."
For the first ti since she woke up, Zane looked truly caught off guard. He opened his mouth as if to say sothing but then shut it again.
After a mont, he let out a small breath and stood up.
"Suit yourself," he muttered, shoving his hands into his hoodie pockets.
Just as he was about to leave, another young man walked in.
