Sure enough, inside was a ring.
There is a ring! My god!
Was this truly a VJ ring? Did her wish co true?
Olivia stared at the ring for a while, before the excitent from her face faded.
The ring was beautiful. It had three mini hearts embedded with what seed like small diamonds.
However, it was unfamiliar to her. She knows all of the VJ’s rings.
So there was only one possibility...the ring was fake.
"What were you even thinking..." A self-mocking smile appeared on her face. She checked the box and realized, the box was real.
"At least the box is real and the design looks beautiful. I will claim that it’s a new edition." Olivia muttered.
Closing the box, Olivia put it in her purse and went to the kitchen with a relaxed expression.
Now she won’t be looked down on. Soon she made the lunch.
Without her realizing it, 2 hours passed. The ringing of her phone, made Olivia stop.
"What’s up?"
"Olivia, are you ready? Should I leave the house?" Her friend Siya’s voice sounded.
"Huh? What ti is it...oh sh*t! It’s 12 o’clock already. Wait I will get ready right away." Olivia scuffled.
"Hey! Wait! Just so you know, Miller is going to be there too." Siya whispered as if she was telling so secret.
"Miller as in Miller Joseph? My crush?" Olivia asked with excitent.
"Yes." Siya nodded.
"Yes! Yes! Wait! I will get ready right away." Olivia said and started to look through her clothes.
Within the next 30 minutes, Olivia got ready. Today she gave up on the fragile persona and put on slightly heavy makeup.
Seeing her beautiful self Olivia smiled.
Before leaving she checked on Aurora for one more ti, before kissing her forehead and saying,
"Take care."
Aurora who was sleeping peacefully didn’t know that Olivia had considered the VJ ring as fake.
When she woke up, it was already 2 p.m.
Her throat was a little sore, and her body ached.
Mary who had co to check on Aurora, fed her lunch and dicine and asked Aurora to sleep.
"Where is Olivia?" Aurora asked in a sleepy tone.
"She has gone to so friend’s house, she will be back by 6," Mary inford as she patted Aurora’s head.
"Did...did find the ring?" Aurora asked as her eyes traveled to the table from where the box was missing.
She was 90% sure Olivia had taken the box.
Mary was baffled by the word and decided to be honest,
"I don’t know honey. But from her expression, she did seem relaxed, so she might have found the ring she was looking for."
Aurora was relieved and closed her eyes.
At 6 p.m. when Aurora woke up, she felt better. With a happy smile on her face, Aurora typed in details on the rebate system and soon the text appeared on the screen.
"Transaction verified. 200% rebate credited: $300. Your new balance is $600."
"Yes! Yes! $600! Now I will buy a $500 gift card for mother again...then I will have $1000, and I will then..." Aurora kept on thinking of ways to double her money.
Just the thought of how she was soon going to be a rich lady, filled her with excitent.
However, her excitent couldn’t equate with her health. The fever which had gone down at 7, ca back and Aurora had to lie on the bed after eating the dicine.
At midnight.
Aurora woke up feeling thirsty. When she opened her eyes, she saw the area on her left side empty.
Usually, Olivia slept there.
Aurora didn’t think much and extended her hand toward the jar. Just then she heard the low choked-out sobs.
For a re second, Aurora’s heart clenched and she instantly thought of a ghost wearing white clothes with their hair hanging in front and looking in her direction while making fake sob sounds. As long as she turns around and sees, the ghost will jump on her.
That was how horror movies show the death of an insignificant character.
’You are overthinking. Even if the ghost wants to kill soone they would kill the irritating Aunt Jane living downstairs! She lot of at in her body!’ Aurora consoled herself.
The faint sobbing continued, and Aurora’s heart clenched, not with fear but worry because she recognized the voice.
Olivia...
Why was Olivia crying? Didn’t she get the VJ ring? Shouldn’t her crisis be over? So why was Olivia crying?
Now thinking back...Olivia was supposed to return by 6 pm, but even when Aurora stayed awake by 7 pm, Olivia didn’t return...
