Jonnah blinked, unsure if he had imagined it. But when he looked at Aurora again, she was staring straight at him, her expression unreadable.

"I said you can sit," she repeated, her tone still cool but not unkind.

Jonnah quickly sat down, careful not to seem too eager. He kept a small, polite smile on his face, even though his palms were sweating.

"Thank you," he said quietly, folding his hands in his lap. For a few seconds, he wasn’t sure what else to say.

Aurora didn’t speak either.

She was watching the crowd, her eyes flitting from Adam and Luna upstairs to the pot-bellied man, then back to Jonnah.

She knew that if she played this right, she could change everything.

"You know Owen?" she asked suddenly, her voice low and calm.

Jonnah looked surprised, then cautious. "I... work with him," he answered after a pause. "He’s helping manage a few of my gigs."

"Do you trust him?"

Jonnah blinked. "That’s a strange question."

"Maybe," Aurora said, finally turning to look at him fully. Her gaze was sharp. "But answer it anyway."

Jonnah hesitated, then gave a soft shrug. "I don’t really have a choice. He’s better than most. At least he doesn’t try to—" He stopped himself, then added, "He’s not the worst."

Aurora didn’t react to his slip. She already knew what he ant.

"Leave him. Be my subordinate, and I will make sure to make you the second movie emperor."

"Eh? Second?" Jonnah was attracted by the word.

Aurora’s lips curled.

Of course, Jonnah could only be the second movie emperor because her brother Theodore would be the first.

"Hm. My...friend’s goddaughter’s brother...will be the first. I will open a studio just for him and you and make you both the Movie emperor." Aurora said lightly as if she was joking, but Jonnah’s heart pounded.

In order to get close to millionaires, he went through their information, in the hopes of being able to strike up a conversation with them one day.

So he knew about Miss Dawn’s reputation, too.

A genius investor who invested in startup tech and beca a millionaire.

If this investor opens her own studio opened her own studio and actually backs him...

That would change everything.

He’d no longer have to beg for roles or smile at people who looked down on him. He could finally take control of his career.

Maybe even prove everyone wrong.

Still, part of him was cautious. Too many tis, people had made promises only to disappear or change their minds later.

He looked at Aurora, trying to read her.

"Are you serious?" he asked, his voice quiet, almost disbelieving.

Aurora leaned back in her chair slightly, crossing one leg over the other.

"I don’t joke about business," she replied smoothly. "I see talent. I invest. But I don’t waste ti on people who hesitate."

Jonnah’s heart pounded harder.

"I’m in," he said quickly, before he could second-guess himself.

Aurora’s eyes didn’t show much reaction, but the corner of her lips lifted slightly. She teased him,

"Aren’t you too quick to change?"

Jonnah, not wanting to create a bad impression of himself on Aurora, said,

"He is...not sincere and just wants to profit from ."

Though he didn’t say the real reason, Aurora knew it.

90% of the black material Jonnah would have in the future or had in the past was because of Owen.

He had forced Jonnah to go to drug parties, just so Jonnah could attract the attention of ex-wives of millionaires who owned small fortunes themselves after divorce.

He also sold so private photos of Jonnah to his crazy rich fans, in the hopes of earning profits.

He even forced Jonnah to sleep with older won and n...just for so roles.

According to her dreams, Jonnah would suffer from the age of 24 to 25, before landing roles and becoming famous by the age of 27.

From Jonnah’s words, it was clear that he had already suffered a lot under Owen.

"Alright." Aurora didn’t push him, and instead, slid one of her cards to Jonnah, "Here is my card. You might have signed an official agreent with Owen, right?"

Jonnah nodded.

"So here is what I want you to do. You will go back and pretend that this conversation didn’t happen and say that I was being polite.

I also want you to hang around Owen for the next 1 week, collect the evidence of how he is exploiting you, and send it to .

If you perform well, I will hold up my part of my deal. In case you get into a dangerous situation, don’t hesitate to call ; I will help you.

But rember to collect all the evidence. I want solid evidence, one that could expose Owen’s face within seconds."

Jonnah gulped.

What he had ignored before now beca even more apparent.

How did Miss Dawn know about him being mistreated? Did she stalk him?

’Co on, don’t be narcissistic!’ Jonnah chided himself.

The real reason might be...

Miss Dawn seems to hate Owen.

However, it was good for him.

"Can I ask sothing?" Jonnah asked softly.

"Yes?" Aurora’s words were laced with approval.

"What do you want in return...my body? Or do you want to beco my sugar mommy?" Jonnah’s words faltered toward the end.

He wanted to know everything before joining.

What if he jumped into a wolf’s den after getting saved from a tiger’s den?

"Neither. I want you to protect...a guy nad Theodore. The one who will join my studio along with you, I don’t want him to know about your involvent in your or his success.

This is your second mission. Befriend him within the next 1 week." She said softly.

Jonnah stared at her, stunned.

He had expected anything—anything—but that.

Not money, not control, not power over him. Just... protect soone? Befriend soone?

Aurora’s face was calm, but her eyes were sharp, weighing his reaction.

"Theodore is important to ," she said, her voice quieter now, but firr.

"He’s...different. Kind, but a little too trusting. I need soone smart besides him. Soone who knows what it’s like to fight."

Jonnah’s lips parted, but he didn’t speak at first.

He was too used to people treating him like a tool, or worse, a product.

But this woman—Miss Dawn—was different. Dangerous, definitely. Calculating, yes.

But... there was sothing almost genuine in what she asked of him.

Protect soone.

He could do that.

"I thought it was going to be worse," he muttered, trying to ease the tension in his chest with a joke. "You had worried."

Aurora smiled faintly. "Worse than selling your soul?"

"...Fair enough."

Jonnah looked at the card she had given him, his fingers brushing the edge. It felt heavier than it should. Like a door. A new life.

"Alright," he said finally. In a soft voice, he continued,

"If I could truly get myself away from Owen and get myself roles like you claid...I will be eternally grateful to you."

Aurora didn’t answer right away. Instead, she tilted her head slightly and watched him, her gaze calm and unreadable. Then, after a pause, she spoke.

"Don’t be grateful," she said simply. "Just do your job right."

Jonnah nodded slowly. That made sense.

He wasn’t sure what kind of person Aurora really was yet, but one thing was clear—she didn’t like people who groveled.

"Got it," he said.

Once he left, Aurora turned her attention to Nathan, who was descending the stairs with Luna and Adam Price in tow.

All the people turned their attention to Nathan, who began his speech,

"Ladies and gentlen, today, I have a big announcent to make. My daughter Luna is going to marry Adam, who just happens to be her savior.

Just a few weeks ago, my daughter was kidnapped. I tried to locate her, but due to so unfortunate circumstances, I couldn’t track her.

Thanks to Mr. Adam, though, he was near Luna, and helped her by calling , and soon I reunited with my daughter.

I couldn’t thank him enough, and it just happened that Luna fell in love with him. Adam, too, professed his love. So I thought it would be a good choice to hold an engagent party for them."

Aurora’s eyes narrowed.

Adam Price?

Saving a damsel in distress?

How strange...

The version of Adam that she had heard was...very different.

He was the kind of person who looked down on everyone and considered himself very knowledgeable. He even had the audacity to drag her father down just to make room for himself.

It was kind of suspicious that he helped Luna.

There could be only two possibilities for this situation.

First, Adam knew about Luna’s true identity. And second, he stole soone’s credit.

Aurora’s instincts told her that the matter wasn’t as simple as it seed, and hence she raised her hand.

It was hard to ignore the slender hair covered with black gloves, and Nathan asked,

"Yes?"

"Can we have the honour to know about the na of the hotel from which Mr. Adam rescued Ms. Luna?"
