Spencer ignored the call. He knew the person who was calling, but he had no interest in responding.

Aiden, however, didn’t take Spencer’s silence seriously at all.

"Spencer! I called you! Aren’t you being too cold to your best friend?"

Spencer chuckled, and Aiden thought that Spencer had laughed at his words, but his delusion was broken when Spencer’s words echoed,

"Really? I thought it was normal to ignore a backstabber."

Aiden froze before laughing awkwardly,

"Oh man, you are still sour on the fact that I was f*cking Diana? You could have said it. We can have a threeso if you want, not to ntion Diana loves you."

"Don’t talk like a dented person." Spencer frowned,

"First and foremost thing, I don’t care who she f*cks. It’s her attitude that irks . If she likes you and f*cks you, it’s her business. Just ask her not to act like my girlfriend.

Second thing, I am not interested in these so-called threesos. You can invite Nash, but keep out of it.

Thirdly, don’t say that she loves . It makes feel sick. I only love one girl, whom I am going to marry and have children. So ask Diana to stay away from and my girl."

Aiden’s brows furrowed, and he sighed,

"Spencer, it is clear that you love Diana and hate the fact that I was f*cking her. I am telling you, you can have her.

I won’t interfere. Please don’t say such stuff about Diana, she will be heartbroken if she hears your words."

Spencer wasn’t furious hearing Aiden’s nonsensical words. He knew that it was one of the ways of Aiden to make anyone furious.

Instead, he chuckled and said,

"Aiden, do you think I never knew that you were f*cking Diana?"

The calm expression on Aiden’s face cracked for a mont before it was nded, and he acted dumb,

"I truly don’t understand Spencer, what you are trying to say."

Spencer chuckled,

"You see, Aiden, I know that though you consider your best friend, you are bisexual. You like , but at the sa ti, you feel attracted to Diana. Am I not right?"

Aiden’s mouth opened slightly, caught off guard. For a second, he didn’t know whether to laugh or deny it.

Spencer tilted his head, still calm, his eyes sharp.

"You thought I didn’t notice the way you looked at ? Or how you always acted weird when I got too close to soone else?"

Aiden tried to scoff. "You’re overthinking, man. We’re just close. Bros."

Spencer leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, still holding his sports drink.

"Close? Sure. But bros don’t try to sleep with people their friend clearly dislikes. And they definitely don’t sneak around pretending like nothing’s happening."

Aiden opened his mouth again, but Spencer cut him off.

"You see, I don’t care if you’re into , or if you’re into Diana. What I care about is loyalty. You stabbed in the back, and now you’re pretending like nothing happened."

Aiden gritted his teeth,

"Why Spencer? When you know everything, then you should know that I first f*cked Diana when we were 15, right? So why didn’t you say everything back then? Why wait till now to expose us?"

Spencer looked nonchalant as he said,

"As I said. I don’t care who f*cks who. But I did feel betrayed when you knew about Diana’s wh*re nature and yet continued to ship with her."

Aiden’s face turned ashen, and he glared at Spencer,

"Spencer... you know what I sacrificed for you? Yes, I am bisexual! But I never liked Diana! I only f*cked her because I was waiting for the day you and Diana would beco boyfriend and girlfriend and I could..."

"You could scoop in?" Spencer asked in a cold voice.

Aiden’s throat tightened, and he couldn’t et Spencer’s eyes anymore. He clenched his fists, his voice shaking a little.

"I just... I just wanted to stay close to you, okay? You never looked at that way. Never once. So I thought... if I helped Diana get with you, maybe... maybe I’d matter more. Maybe you’d see ."

Spencer’s expression didn’t change. His voice was still calm, but colder now.

"So you slept with her, lied to , and then kept acting like my biggest supporter? That’s how you tried to matter more?"

Aiden looked away. "I was desperate, alright? I didn’t know what else to do."

Spencer stood up slowly, towering over Aiden, his eyes unreadable.

"Desperation doesn’t give you the right to ss with people’s lives. You didn’t just betray , Aiden. You broke any chance of trust between us."

Aiden stood too, biting his lip.

"But I never ant to hurt you. I swear, Spencer. I thought maybe... maybe soday you’d understand. That you’d forgive ."

Spencer took a deep breath and stepped back, putting distance between them.

"I do understand, Aiden. That’s why I’m walking away."

Aiden’s voice cracked. "So that’s it? Years of friendship, gone?"

Spencer looked him dead in the eyes.

"It wasn’t friendship. Not after everything you did. You didn’t love , Aiden. You just wanted to control who I loved, and fortunately, you chose the wrong one."

He turned his back and walked off, leaving Aiden standing there alone, trembling and silent.

Aiden sat on the bench as tears ford in his eyes.

He didn’t know where he went wrong. Or maybe he did, and hence he was regretting everything.

From his childhood till his teenage years, Spencer was the one who stayed with him. In his darkest ti, when he wanted nothing more than to die, Spencer had motivated him.

Nash, Spencer, Diana, and he, all of them suffered the sa thing, and hence they all had stuck together since their childhood.

However, out of all of them, Spencer was the one who remained the first and calm.

He was like a leader, guiding them toward light whenever they wanted to give up.

Aiden only admired Spencer at first, but gradually, this admiration turned into love.

At the age of 14, he realized how deep he had fallen, but he knew Spencer was a straight guy, so he held back.

Until... Diana approached him.

She said that as long as he slept with her, she would ask Spencer to share her with him, and then he could be closely related to Spencer.

Aiden was against this suggestion at first. He knew that Diana just wanted to sleep with him because of so stupid bet in her friend circle.

But in the end... Aiden gave in.

He had been lonely, confused, and desperate for anything that made him feel closer to Spencer. Even if it ant doing sothing he knew was wrong. Even if it ant letting Diana use him.

He had convinced himself it was worth it. That maybe, sohow, this path would lead him to Spencer’s heart.

But it didn’t.

It only pushed Spencer away.

Aiden wiped his eyes with the back of his hand, frustrated at himself.

The pain in his chest felt heavier than before, like a weight that wouldn’t go away no matter how hard he tried to breathe.

"I ruined everything..." he whispered to no one.

His fingers curled around the edge of the bench.

His thoughts were a ss—flashes of laughter they used to share, late-night talks, stupid dares, comforting hugs.

All of it felt like it belonged to soone else now. Soone who hadn’t broken the only bond that ever really mattered to him.

He stared at the ground, barely noticing when Nash walked over and sat beside him quietly.

There was silence between them for a few seconds. Then Nash spoke in a low voice.

"He told you, didn’t he?"

Aiden didn’t answer right away. He just gave a short nod, his throat too tight to say anything.

Nash sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"I warned you, Aiden. Spencer might be calm, but once you cross the line, there’s no going back."

"I know..." Aiden croaked out.

Nash looked ahead.

"He’s serious about that girl. The one he talks about marrying. I have heard that he is even ready to beco a canary for her."

Aiden flinched at those words.

"What?"

Spencer? Becoming Canary? That was impossible!

Who was Spencer? He almost died kneeling in the rain, and yet refused to bow his head in front of his half-brother.

Nash let out a tired sigh, rubbing the back of his neck.

"I’m serious, Aiden. Spencer said it himself. He’s willing to change everything for her. Even if it ans becoming soone he never thought he could be."

Aiden shook his head slowly, his voice barely a whisper.

"But that’s not him. Spencer doesn’t change for anyone."

Nash gave a short laugh, not out of amusent, but sothing closer to sadness.

"Yeah, that’s what I thought, too. But maybe... maybe we never really understood how much he could love soone. Or what he’d do for that love."

Aiden trembled and a idea appeared in his mind.
