Olivia clenched her fists, nails digging into her palm as she stared at Kira. A smirk played on Kira’s lips as she leaned back in Olivia’s chair, crossing her legs with a smug expression.
"Why are you so quiet now?" Kira taunted, tapping her nails on the desk.
"Cat got your tongue? Or are you thinking of another lie to spin?"
The snickers of nearby students filled the air, but Olivia remained unfazed.
Her grip loosened, and she let out a slow breath, schooling her features into a neutral expression.
"Sit wherever you want," Olivia finally said, her voice cold.
"It doesn’t change the fact that you’re still pathetic for riding on soone else’s misfortune."
Kira’s smirk faltered for a second before she scoffed.
"Big words from soone who’s been exposed for being a liar."
Olivia smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. "We’ll see who the real liar is soon enough."
With that, she turned around and walked toward an empty seat in the back. The students whispered among themselves, surprised by her reaction. They had expected her to lash out, to argue, to make a scene. Instead, she had brushed it off so casually that it left an unsettling feeling in the air.
Kira frowned, suddenly feeling as if she had lost despite getting Olivia’s seat.
She flipped her hair and turned back to the front, pretending as if Olivia didn’t exist.
Just as Olivia sat down, she suddenly received a ssage from an unfamiliar number, followed by a line, "Serial Number to verify the authenticity of VJ ring is behind the box."Olivia’s eyes widened in surprise. What the f*ck...does fairy godmothers nowadays have phones too?
Soon Rose sauntered in with Natasha beside her.
The mont Olivia saw, Rose a huge smile appeared on her face. It took her a lot of effort to suppress.
Before anyone could react, she took out the box and walked up to Rose.
"Rose, are you even truly rich?" She asked in a loud voice.
All the students who knew about yesterday’s drama were already noticing Olivia’s every move.
So when she asked the question in such a loud voice, their attention was attracted.
"Huh? What does she an?"
"I don’t know. We all know that Rose belongs to a rich family, so why is Olivia asking such a question?"
"Maybe she has so insider’s news?"
"You an to say...Rose’s dad has gone bankrupt?"
Rose’s expression changed when she heard the last comnt and she instantly bristled,
"Olivia if you want to take revenge for what happened yesterday, then say so, why question such an obvious thing?"
Olivia chuckled, shaking her head.
"Revenge? Rose, don’t flatter yourself. I’m just asking a simple question." She held up the velvet box, the one that had held the supposed knockoff VJ ring.
"If you’re truly rich, then why did you lie?" Olivia’s voice was clear and steady, carrying across the classroom.
Rose’s face stiffened. "What are you talking about?"
Olivia smirked and tapped on her phone screen before turning it around for everyone to see. The official VJ website was displayed, showcasing the exact ring design she had worn yesterday.
"This ring—" Olivia pointed at the image. "—is real."
A stunned silence fell over the class.
"Wait... what?"
"That ans Olivia wasn’t lying?"
"Then why did Rose say it was a knockoff yesterday?"
The murmur of doubt started to spread. Olivia continued, her expression darkening.
"Yesterday, I let myself get humiliated because I believed you, Rose. You called it fake, and I trusted you. But look at this. The exact sa design, available only through official channels." She stepped closer, tilting her head slightly.
"So tell , Rose—" Olivia’s voice dripped with mock curiosity.
"Did you lie because you didn’t recognize the brand? Or... did you recognize it all too well and deliberately try to ruin ?"
Rose’s jaw tightened, but she quickly forced out a laugh. "Oh please, Olivia. Anyone can edit a website photo and put a fake ring next to it. Are you seriously trying to clear your na with sothing so weak?"
So students nodded, but others hesitated.
Olivia let out a dramatic sigh. "You’re right. Just showing the website isn’t enough. Luckily..." She trailed off, pulling out her phone again and making a call.
A few rings later, a crisp, professional voice answered, loud enough for the entire class to hear.
"This is VJ Custor Support. How may I assist you?"
The classroom held its breath.
"Hi," Olivia said sweetly. "I recently purchased a VJ ring but was told by soone that it’s fake. Could you verify its authenticity if I provide the serial number?"
"Of course, ma’am. Please read the number to ."
Olivia turned the box around and read the engraved serial code. A few seconds later, the representative responded.
"Thank you for your patience. According to our records, that is an authentic VJ new-edition ring released this year."
The classroom erupted.
"Sh*t, so Olivia was telling the truth the whole ti?!"
"Wait, wait, wait—so Rose lied? But why?"
"She totally set Olivia up!"
Rose’s face drained of color. She opened her mouth, but Olivia didn’t give her a chance.
"Rose, dear," Olivia cooed, tilting her head mockingly. "Can you explain now? Is it possible that the self-claid fashion diva has zero fashion knowledge and she was trying to pretend to be knowledgeable all along? Or did you just lie to insult ?"
Natasha who had been silent till now suddenly intervened,
"Hey Olivia, it was just a mistake is there a need to make a mountain out of a molehill? You pushed -"
"Uhg! Uhg! Ugh!" Olivia stopped her with her finger while shaking her head,
"Don’t get started on that. If the ring was real all along, why would I panic and push you? I knew the ring was real, I was just returning ho to get the receipt since I didn’t know about the serial number’s existence. So your argunt that I pushed you in the panic of not being exposed doesn’t seem valid anymore."
