"Huh. If I didn’t know better, I might almost believe there’s no secret between you two," she said with mock amusent. But then, her voice turned cold as she addressed Jonnah.
"One minute, Jonnah. If you’re not going to tell the full truth, I’ll make sure I destroy both of your careers. No one in this industry will ever hire you again."
Jonnah’s eyes widened in panic. His pulse quickened, and in an instant, he realized he had made a huge mistake. Micah, too, looked like he’d made a terrible choice coming here.
Jonnah swallowed hard, his voice shaking slightly.
"Micah... he’s my brother, but not in the biological sense. He’s older than , yes. But he’s been—" He paused, taking a deep breath, "...He’s been in the industry for a while, and we’ve... worked for a lot of won to climb up."
Aurora’s brow furrowed.
"Worked for a lot of won?" she asked slowly, her voice sharp, eyes flashing with curiosity.
Jonnah nodded grimly.
"Yes. Micah used his... charm to get roles. He’s slept with several powerful won. That’s how he made it, but recently, he crossed the line.
He ssed with the wrong woman’s husband, and now he’s banned from the industry. That’s why he’s here.
He’s desperate to co back and will do anything to find won who can help him."
Aurora stared at Jonnah for a long mont, her expression unreadable. The silence was thick, like the calm before a storm.
Then, her gaze flicked to Micah, who was now glaring at Jonnah with pure rage in his eyes.
"You—" Micah’s voice trembled with anger. "You’re really betraying like this? Do you rember how much I helped you when you were nobody?"
Jonnah stayed silent, his gaze on the floor. His fists were clenched so tightly that his knuckles were white.
Aurora, still sitting back, took in everything. Her lips curved into a sly smile.
"Well, this is fun," she said sarcastically, looking at the two n before her.
"But now, he’s banned from working, and he’s desperate to get back in. He’s looking for any way he can, and that’s why he’s here. He thought you could help him." Jonnah said in a serious voice.
Aurora’s eyes widened for a brief mont, the truth sinking in. "Interesting," she murmured. "I see now."
Then her mind raced back to sothing she had almost forgotten. Theodore and Micah.
She rembered that Theodore and Micah had t during a movie. Micah had helped Theodore, but not because of so deep friendship.
No, Micah had helped because he wanted to teach Theodore’s enemy a lesson. For Theodore, though, Micah had beco his idol, soone he admired deeply.
But that admiration hadn’t lasted long. Micah had died by suicide, and no one knew the real reason.
The entertainnt industry had swallowed him up, and no one had cared enough to see the cracks behind his image.
Aurora shook her head. She rembered so of Micah’s backstory but didn’t have the full picture.
"Micah, tell everything," she said softly. "I want to know what happened to you. Your background. Your story."
Micah, surprised by Aurora’s sudden interest, blinked. "You... you want to know my story?" His eyes lit up, a glimr of hope in them. "Are you really ready to take under your wing?"
Aurora imdiately shook her head, her lips curling into a small smile. "I already have a canary."
Micah frowned. "A canary?"
Aurora’s smile widened, but her gaze turned a little mischievous. "If I were to make anyone my pet, my canary would be furious."
Micah’s face fell as he realized what she ant.
He knew he wasn’t in the best position. No one ever was when they were begging for help, and he was no different.
But a tiny spark of hope still flickered in him, a wish that maybe, just maybe, Aurora might take pity on him and help him find a way out of this ss.
He let out a deep breath, knowing that the chance of winning her over was slim. He had seen it all before. The world of the rich. They could show sympathy, but in the end, it all ca down to money.
Sympathy was fleeting, gone the mont the next shiny thing caught their eye. He knew this from the countless tis he’d tried to make people care, only to be thrown away when they realized he wasn’t worth investing in.
But there was sothing different about Aurora. Sothing cold but sharp. And it was that sharpness that made him feel like this could be his last shot. So, he decided to lay it all on the line. No more pretending. No more hiding. Micah began to speak, the words heavy on his tongue.
"My story... it’s not a happy one, Miss Dawn," he said, his voice quiet but steady.
"I used to be a happy kid. I had my family, or at least, I thought I did. But when I was seven, my parents got divorced. They couldn’t make it work. My father found another woman, and my mother... well, she was heartbroken. The worst part? I looked just like my father."
He paused, taking a breath. "My mom couldn’t stand it. She couldn’t even look at . She decided not to keep . So, I was left with my grandfather."
Aurora’s gaze didn’t soften, but she listened intently, the silence around her thick and heavy.

They both had new families, new lives. And I... I was just stuck with my grandfather. He did everything he could for . He didn’t have much.
