He took a deep breath and continued, "Once my company becos a billion-dollar business, I will co and stay with you. Until then, I have to focus."
Mary didn’t push further. Instead, she nodded with understanding. "Then I will visit you often," she said softly. "Now that we have faced everything, there’s no reason to hide my feelings anymore. I can show you my care without fear."
Alex felt his heart swell with happiness. He had always dread of a day when his mother’s love would no longer be a secret. He never expected it to happen like this.
Just then, Adam coughed softly to get Alex’s attention. His voice was calm and collected. "If you ever need help," he said, "you can contact ."
Alex rembered hearing that Adam had beco the CEO of a chanic company. The company was not one of the biggest, but it had a good turnover. The offer of help was genuine.
Even though Adam didn’t have the highest social status, his words were sincere.

Alex replied in a slightly choked voice, "Thank you, Adam. I will definitely co to you if I need help."
Adam nodded without hesitation, then added quietly, "Even though you work so hard, you should visit every two or three days. Have dinner with us. Mary might miss you if you don’t co."
His eyes looked hopeful, not demanding but caring. It was obvious that Adam, in his own way, wanted Alex to live a good life. His offer wasn’t just polite. It was heartfelt.
Alex’s chest felt heavy with emotion. His father, who had been absent, and his adoptive father, who had raised him, never said sothing like this. But now, soone so different from the father figure was offering true kindness.
He smiled softly and said, "I will do that. Thank you."
Mary watched the exchange with a quiet smile. She was glad that Alex had people to support him now.

Wiping the sweat off his forehead, he stood up and walked to the door. When he opened it, he saw Emily standing there, wearing a gentle smile.
"Good afternoon, Lucas," Emily greeted him warmly. Seeing her, Lucas couldn’t help but smile back. "Emily. Please co in," he said, stepping aside to let her enter.
Once inside, Emily glanced around the room, her eyes thoughtful for a mont before focusing back on Lucas. "How are you doing?" she asked politely.
Lucas chuckled softly and replied, "Good. I just finished writing the business proposal. I’m preparing the docunts to attract an investor."
Emily raised her eyebrows in interest. "May I see the proposal?" she asked.
Lucas nodded, understanding that Emily was experienced in business matters and could give him valuable advice. After all, she already ran her own business, and Lucas knew her reputation was strong in their circle. He carefully handed over the thick docunt.
Emily took it and began to read. Her eyes scanned the pages carefully, absorbing every detail. After a few minutes, a small smile appeared on her lips.
Lucas waited patiently, unsure of what she would say.
"I must say, Lucas," Emily began, "I didn’t expect your proposal to be this good. Honestly, I thought you only had basic knowledge of business." Her voice was soft but genuine.
Lucas blushed slightly, feeling proud and a little shy.
"The plan you’ve written has real potential," Emily continued. "It’s clear you’ve thought deeply about every step. You’ve identified a strong market need, and your solution is well-structured. If soone invested in this, there’s no way they would lose a single penny."
Lucas’s chest swelled with happiness. Hearing that soone as experienced as Emily believed in his work was the best feeling he could imagine.
However, Emily’s expression soon turned thoughtful as she pointed out, "There are a few small mistakes, though. Nothing huge, but so parts are a bit glaring." She gestured toward the docunt.
Lucas felt relieved that the problems weren’t major. "Thank you for pointing them out," he said. "I’ll correct them right away."
Without wasting ti, he carefully adjusted the proposal based on Emily’s suggestions. The corrections made the plan smoother, and Lucas felt more confident than ever.
Once he finished, he looked at Emily and asked, "If I submit this proposal to any investor, what do you think the chances of getting investnt would be?"
Emily thought for a mont. "I’d say about eighty percent," she answered confidently.
Lucas’s eyes widened. "Eighty percent?" he repeated in disbelief. "Wow. Honestly, I expected no more than fifty percent."
"Yes," Emily confird. "As long as you present it well, investors will definitely consider it."
Lucas was thrilled. He had worked so hard, and now it seed his effort was paying off in the best way.
Then, Emily added sothing unexpected. "I happen to know Ms. Dawn. I can submit the proposal to her for you."
Lucas froze. He stared at Emily, disbelief written all over his face. "Are you serious?" he asked quietly.
"Yes," Emily replied calmly.
Ms. Dawn was a powerful investor, known as one of the largest in the city, second only to Victor Hawthorne.
But the Waters family had offended Victor long ago, which ant approaching him was impossible. Lucas had never imagined that such an opportunity would co his way.
He looked at Emily carefully. She was like a mother figure to all of them, calm and caring despite being young.
Ever since becoming Aurora’s godmother, everyone treated her with great respect. Lucas even respected her without thinking about it. She had always been trustworthy.
"I don’t want you to use connections to help ," Lucas said carefully. "I just want the proposal to be read fairly, without any special treatnt."
Emily smiled gently. "That’s exactly what I will do. I’ll simply pass it to Ms. Dawn, nothing more. No special words, no hidden favors."
Lucas nodded slowly, feeling reassured. He trusted her completely.
"Then I’ll submit it to Ms. Dawn," Emily said, taking the docunt carefully.
Lucas watched as she left without another word. For a mont, he wondered if she had co only to take his proposal.
But quickly, he shook his head. It was impossible for Emily to have psychic powers and sohow known that he had prepared a business proposal.
He returned to his usual routine, focusing on other tasks as if nothing unusual had happened.
Later that night, as Lucas lay on the sofa, his phone suddenly rang. He reached out, his body still tired from the long day.
He pressed the answer button, and Emily’s calm voice ca through the line.
"Lucas, I have good news," she said softly. "Ms. Dawn has read your business proposal. She is interested in it."
Lucas’s eyes widened in shock. "Emily, are you serious?" he asked, his voice trembling.
"Yes," Emily confird without hesitation.
Lucas felt a thrill of excitent mixed with disbelief. "When is the eting?" he asked eagerly.
Emily smiled. "Tomorrow, at 12 PM. You’ll need to be at the private room in Sterling Hotel."
Lucas agreed imdiately, not worrying for a second that Emily might have tricked him. She was soone he had known for a long ti. Soone who always supported him.
The next day, Lucas arrived at the private room early. It was only 11:30 AM, but he couldn’t stop feeling excited. He sat quietly, watching the clock tick by.
At exactly 12 PM, the door slowly opened.
A woman entered, wearing a long veil. Her steps were calm and elegant.
Lucas stood up automatically, full of respect and curiosity.
The woman’s soft voice broke the silence. "Please, sit."
Lucas was surprised by the softness of the voice. For so reason, it sounded familiar, as if he had heard it before. His mind began to race with mories.
Had he t this woman sowhere before? Where? He tried to rember but the answer remained out of reach.
Still, he carefully sat back down in the chair.
He looked at the woman, trying to get a better sense of who she was, but the veil covered most of her face. Only her eyes were visible. They were gentle but full of authority. They seed to study him, as if asuring his worth.
The woman cleared her throat softly. "Lucas Waters, is that correct?" she asked.
"Yes, ma’am," Lucas answered politely, his voice steady, though a little shaky inside.
There was silence for a mont, then the woman continued, "I have read your business proposal carefully."
Lucas held his breath.
