He didn’t feel satisfied. ’Why does it still feel empty...?’

That thought lingered at the back of his mind like an itch he couldn’t scratch.

With a faint scoff, he pushed it aside and began living his life as usual. Since he couldn’t have Olivia, he chose the next easiest escape... parties, alcohol, and won.

Loud music, flashing lights, the sll of expensive perfu mixed with sweat and alcohol, it all blurred together as he drowned himself in distraction.

’If I can’t have her... I’ll just forget her.’

Or at least, that was what he told himself.

But he had underestimated Olivia.

Maybe back in high school, she hadn’t left such a deep mark on him. But now... now she had grown into soone extraordinary.

She was breathtaking, so beautiful that people would unconsciously turn their heads just to catch a glimpse of her. Even millionaires, n who had seen countless won, were no exception.

But it wasn’t just her beauty. It was her presence. Her elegance. Her intelligence. Her background. Her career.

Everything about her scread perfection. ’She’s... a ten out of ten... for any man.’

And that was exactly the problem. Now, all he had were cheap imitations.

The won around him laughed too loudly, touched too eagerly, and smiled too artificially. Their eyes never looked at him, they looked at his wallet.

He knew it. And they knew it too. But neither side cared. ’They want money... I want their bodies... fair enough.’

So he never complained. Days turned into weeks, and weeks blurred into months.

Then one day... everything shattered. News broke out. The company shares he had sold... had skyrocketed.

The market valuation had reached 200 million dollars. The mont he heard it, the glass in his hand slipped slightly, the cold liquid spilling over his fingers. "What...?"

His voice ca out hoarse, disbelieving. ’Two hundred... million...?’

His heart began pounding violently, his mind spiraling.

The one million dollars he had received from Miss Dawn... was long gone. Spent on aningless nights, wasted on fleeting pleasures.

And now... the shares he once owned were worth two hundred million dollars.

A suffocating rage surged through him. ’I... I sold it for nothing...!’

His breathing grew uneven, his chest tightening painfully. ’No... this isn’t right... I was cheated...!’

That thought rooted itself deeply in his mind. Without wasting another second, he contacted Emily.

The mont the call connected, he spoke urgently, "I want a eting with Miss Dawn."

Emily didn’t hesitate. "Alright, I’ll arrange it."

.............

The next day, the eting was set.

When he arrived, Miss Dawn was already there, sitting calmly as if she had been expecting him all along.

Miller didn’t waste ti. "I want my shares back."

For a second, there was silence. Then... Miss Dawn laughed.

A soft, amused laugh that carried a sharp edge. "Are you even listening to yourself?"

Her eyes narrowed slightly as she leaned back. "Are you in your right mind... or have you had too much to drink?"

Miller’s face darkened instantly. "You cheated !"

His voice rose, filled with anger.

"You took all my shares for just one million dollars, and now they’re worth two hundred million!"

His fists clenched tightly, his knuckles turning white."You don’t even feel ashad?"

Miss Dawn’s expression didn’t change. Instead, she tilted her head slightly, her gaze calm and almost indifferent.

"Cheated you?"

She let out a small chuckle. "You were the one who agreed to sell."

Her words were slow, precise, each one landing like a hamr. "You handed over those shares willingly."

Miller froze for a mont, his anger faltering. But before he could respond, she continued,

"And let’s not forget... those shares were practically worthless when I bought them."

Her lips curved faintly. "I built everything after that."

The room felt colder. "If you think you were wronged..." she added casually, "you’re free to take legal action."

"I heard that a conference is going to happen. I hope it goes peaceful considering you have just made an enemy." Miller looked at Miss Dawn with a sharp expression, his threat evident in his tone.

Miss Dawn laughed lightly, unaffected by his words, "If you want, you can go ahead and try."

"I am not lying, I will claim that you had forced to sign the settlent docunt!" He threated but Miss Dawn only gave a light ’hm’ as if appeasing a child.

Miller’s jaw tightened. Without another word, he turned and walked out, his footsteps heavy and uneven.

’She doesn’t believe ...’

His eyes darkened. ’Fine... I’ll prove it to her.’

...............

Soon, the day of the conference arrived.

The venue buzzed with activity, reporters gathering, caras flashing, voices overlapping in a chaotic symphony.

Miller arrived early, his eyes scanning the area as he waited. ’This is it... this is my chance...’

Not far away, Miss Dawn had already noticed him. A faint smirk appeared on her lips as she walked toward him.

Miller let out a cold laugh. "What? Scared now?"

His voice carried a mocking tone. "It’s too late."

He stepped closer, his gaze sharp. "Once the dia finds out how you scamd ..."

Before he could finish... Miss Dawn chuckled softly. "You should check your inbox first."

Her voice was calm, almost amused. "Before you make a bigger fool of yourself."

Miller frowned, confusion flickering across his face. He quickly pulled out his phone and opened his ssages.

There it was. A recording. His fingers hesitated for a brief second before pressing play.

The mont the audio began... His face drained of color. It was their conversation. Every word. Every agreent. Everything had been recorded.

A cold chill spread through his entire body. Miss Dawn leaned slightly closer, her voice dropping to a quiet whisper,

"If you try to create a scene..."

She paused, letting the words sink in. "I’ll release this."

Her gaze locked onto his. "Let’s see... who people will believe."

Miller’s grip on his phone tightened, his hands trembling slightly.

His body felt ice-cold, as if all the warmth had been drained out of him.

anwhile, Miss Dawn straightened, her expression returning to calm professionalism.

’This should be enough...’

Her only concern had been avoiding unnecessary trouble. Even if she could win legally, reputation mattered. ’If he’s smart... he’ll stop here.’

The reason why she even went so far as to accommodate Miller, even though she could win through the legal route, was because she knew that if Miller created a scene, a scandal would be made out of it.

Hence, she took out extra ti to calm this ticking ti bomb.

The conference began. Caras flashed. Voices echoed.

But Miller... stayed silent. No outburst. No accusations. No drama.

Exactly as she had expected.

After it ended, he approached her again.

His expression was restrained this ti, his voice much calr. "What if... I co up with another idea?"

Miss Dawn raised an eyebrow slightly. "An idea?"

He nodded. "A better one."

There was a brief pause. Then she smiled faintly. "If that’s the case..."

Her tone turned businesslike. "Bring a proposal."

She held his gaze steadily. "If it’s good enough... I might consider working with you."

Miller let out a low chuckle, the sound carrying a faint bitterness as he pushed his chair back and stood up.

"In your dreams," he said, his lips curling into a cold smile.

His eyes darkened slightly as he looked at her. "This ti, I’ll develop those ideas myself."

His voice grew steadier, sharper, filled with a quiet determination that bordered on obsession. "And when I reach the top..."

He paused for a mont, his fingers tightening slightly at his side.

"I’ll make sure to drag you down from that pedestal and make you regret everything you’ve done to ."

’I won’t lose again... not this ti...’

Across from him, Miss Dawn, Aurora, simply nodded, her expression calm, almost indifferent. "If that’s the case..."

Her voice was smooth, composed. "I’ll be waiting."

Miller scoffed softly and turned to leave, his footsteps echoing faintly against the polished floor. Just as he reached the door...

"Wait."

Her voice stopped him. He paused, his shoulders stiffening slightly before he turned his head back, irritation flickering in his eyes.

"What now?"

Aurora leaned back slightly, studying him with an unreadable gaze. "Won’t you ask... why I’m so harsh with you?"

Miller let out a short, humorless laugh. "Ask you?"

He shook his head, his tone laced with contempt. "Why would I ask anything from soone as black-hearted as you?"

For a brief mont, silence lingered.

Then... Aurora laughed. A soft, almost amused laugh, yet there was sothing cold beneath it. "Black-hearted... is it?"

She tilted her head slightly, her eyes narrowing just a fraction.

"Then don’t you want to know why I’m like this toward you?"

Miller frowned, a flicker of confusion crossing his face despite himself.

Aurora continued, her voice calm but carrying a sharp edge. "If it were soone else sitting in your place..."

She tapped her fingers lightly against the table.
