Now reading: Chapter 54: Fourth wave from Born in apocalypse, a Fantasy novel by COSMIC04.

When it was about ti for the wave to start, they were all ready—almost too ready. Now this ti monsters have to face four Tier 2 creatures—with two of them being with the evolution of rare rank. In addition to this already powerful team, there will be an additional 50 ga and 250 normal undeads.

If this wouldn’t count as overkill, then Dhruv couldn’t understand what would. Yet, the monsters wouldn’t be pushovers either. This wave would be the fourth wave, and the monsters erging from the cracks were of Tier 1, with a core that would be 100% saturated, aning almost Tier 2. Moreover, the battle would unfold amidst the encompassing darkness of the night... the veil of darkness wasn’t that big of a deal as this could also work in their favour.

With all the points working in their favour, Dhruv is planning to taste the full power of their might. And for that, he had decided to fight all three hoard at the sa ti.

As the final hour passes, the familiar sound of footsteps echoed in his ears. Goblins, spiders, and Crystallce—each of them running towards them with murderous determination, intent to tear them apart and he couldn’t bla them as he was planning to do the sa.

The gang truly looks impatient and were waiting for them to reach. The entire crew gathers at the centre of the field, waiting for the monsters, so they can start the battle as soon as possible.

"Co on man, can’t you run any faster," Dhruv yelled.

On the field, the battle between the gang and the monster was only delayed by the 100-tre gap that separated them—a distance that was destined to be short-lived.

Barely five seconds had passed and that distance vanished, taking with it the peace of the island for another half an hour.

Dhruv, the master of them all, casually began channelling his magic without a hint of concern, seemingly unfazed by the monsters that were just tres away, as if their approach was of no imdiate consequence.

And oddly enough, that’s exactly how it played out—every monster ca to an abrupt stop when they were struck by a magical shield all of a sudden. And before they could break the shield to reach the human, the shield broke on its own. As if the only purpose of it was to break the montum of the monsters.

With the shield gone, gone were any glimrs of hope for their—monsters— survival. Before they could advance even a single step, a tallic arrow pierced through their ranks, and just like that a line of monsters was gone. But the attack didn’t stop there swiftly after that followed a barrage of flying sabres along with a rain of molten tal, raining destruction upon them.

The monsters were on the verge of retreating, only to notice that the human who was casting the spell appeared fatigued. Believing this to be their opportunity, they surged forward once more.

However, their confidence faded upon encountering the next opponent, with the next opponent in front of them. They quickly realised that the human was the easiest one among the enemy. The one who is in the front line is a re small demon wielding a sword... But to their shock, there was nothing small about this demon.

As the monster drew near Dhruv, Vexar’s response was swift and elegant. With seamless grace, he swiftly decapitated at least ten of them in a single sweeping motion. Showing the full display of his swordsmanship that he had been training after the evolution.

Vexar brandished his blade, causing it to transform into a weapon from hell. The weapon blazed to life with the help of the skill, [Phoenix Spark]. With a sweeping motion of a slash, a fiery slash shot forth into the midst of the monster ranks, killing Anyone that managed to get touched by it.

Anyone who dared to approach Dhruv t their end at Vexar hands; their claws and teeth proved futile against his precise and lethal strikes. As the battle continued the air grew hot with the odour of burned flesh.

At the forefront of the battle, Alaric stands like an unyielding fortress. He shoulders the responsibility of safeguarding the gang. His shield with a mix of shadows in it proved to be an impenetrable barrier, easily fending off the monsters’ frenzied assaults.

Yet, it’s was more than just defence. Buffed by shadow magic, Alaric’s counterattacks are both swift and deadly. Proficient in his craft, he transforms into shadow, effortlessly infiltrating enemy ranks and easily slitting the throats using his dagger, with ruthless precision.

Even, among them all, Azaex seed to be the most important figure. Casting his gaze over the back of his family. Accompanied by an army of three hundred undead, his re presence carries imnse weight.

Towering ga undead and unrelenting regular undead surge forward, engaging the Crystallce with a savage intensity. The clash unfolds in a bone-chilling spectacle, the ga ones killing the opponents in battle that was one against many. While the little ones were ganging upon their foes, going to any length to win the fight.

But, the monsters weren’t without tricks either. Spider continues to shoot the blob of silk all over the battleground, trying to capture, or at least slow down the enemies.

Crystallce, the wielder of ice magic, instead of firing the ice spikes as usual. No, they began to conjure freezing winds that blanketed the ground in a layer of frost.

One thing Dhruv noticed that they were gaining intelligence with each passing wave, now at the level where they could use basic tactics.

But... But they had chosen the wrong enemy to fight with. The mortal enemy of silk and ice is fire. And, there was not one but two creature who possesses the blood of the phoenix.

Dhruv’s fire magic engulfs the silk, and Vexar’s flas lt the ice, leaving the battlefield clear for the gang to advance, without any problem.

Despite the overwhelming numbers—hundreds of goblins, spiders and Crystallce against a handful of skilled warriors— the gang with seamless coordination, diverse abilities, and unyielding resolve was massacring the monster with each passing mont.

The battlefield becos a stage for the clash between the gang and the monsters, a breathtaking display of skill and power.
