Chapter 227: The Grand Bell Rings, Dao Ancestor Grants the Seal!
A blood line appeared across the youth’s neck.
He stared at the person before him in disbelief, yet could no longer utter a single word.
But all the hatred, resentnt, and venom in his eyes vanished completely.
His gaze beca pure, leaving behind only a single emotion—fear!
Chu Huaixu stood up, his face showing little change in expression.
“‘What a promising seed of an Evil Cultivator.’”
Before drawing his sword, he had only done one thing—he had looked over all the wounds across his body, and at his severed palm.
He believed, as long as the other had eyes, he should be able to see how heavily he had been injured in order to exterminate evil.
If he had any conscience, he ought to know that his left hand was lost because of him.
But the youth turned a blind eye.
So then, the answer was all too obvious.
“‘Damn Evil Cultivators! So many insidious tricks!’”
“‘In such a short ti, they corrupted this pure, innocent, and kind youth—tainting him with evil, dragging him into the Evil Path! Turning him into a cultivation-less Evil Cultivator in training!’”
“‘Hmph! How dare you shake my Dao heart!’”
“‘Root out all evil, spare none—this one deserved death!’”
Chu Huaixu casually found an excuse in his heart and pushed the bla onto the lower-level Evil Cultivators, and with that, his heart was clear again.
He sheathed his sword, dragging his gravely injured body as he walked away.
He walked all the way out of the small town before suddenly stopping in his tracks.
As self-awareness returned, Chu Huaixu’s eyes turned dazed once more—then gradually, clarity returned.
“‘This Illusion Array… actually sealed even the Heart Sword?’” he thought in his restored state.
No wonder the Dao Ancestor was the Dao Ancestor.
“‘But what should I do next?’”
“‘Could it be this simple? Just kill a few Evil Cultivators and be done?’” He was sowhat puzzled.
But the next mont, he suddenly felt the world spin around him.
When Chu Huaixu opened his eyes again, he was once more standing at the exact sa spot outside the town.
“‘I am an outer disciple of the Dao Gate, descending the mountain to eliminate evil. I’ve already tracked the signs of Evil Cultivators.’”
Everything seed to fall into an infinite loop, yet he remained unaware.
He stepped into the town again, soon hearing bursts of exclamations and screams.
Chu Huaixu began using movent techniques, rapidly heading toward the source of the sound.
But this ti, he saw only one Evil Cultivator—Hook-nosed Man.
Chu Huaixu’s face remained unmoved, as if still unaware.
He simply glanced at the corpses on the ground, then frowned at Hook-nosed Man, saying, “‘You have already chosen the path to death!’”
He drew his sword—battle comnced.
In a far-off corner, the youth huddled, clutching his parents’ corpses.
Chu Huaixu unleashed the Clear Wind Sword Technique, slashing toward Hook-nosed Man.
The hook-nosed one held a curved blade, its surface a dark purple hue.
The long sword and curved blade clashed, and he was instantly forced back by Chu Huaixu.
“‘Evil Cultivators truly have shallow foundations—all they want is shortcuts. Their cultivation is never solid!’” he mocked.
“‘Ignorant Dao brat, killing you is more than enough!’” Hook-nosed Man’s eyes flashed with malice, though inwardly he was already planning his retreat.
Damn it, what rotten luck today—to run into soone from the Dao Gate!
He was well aware, although his realm was slightly higher, he was no match for a Dao disciple.
Soone like him might bully disciples from minor sects, sure.
But disciples from major sects? Solid foundation, deep background—not sothing he could provoke.
They clashed again. Chu Huaixu spotted an opening, lunged forward, and struck with his left palm.
The palm hit Hook-nosed Man’s shoulder with a crack of shattering bones, sending the man flying.
But this also brought him closer to the youth, landing near the corner.
“‘Damn, careless! A misstep!’” Chu Huaixu cursed in his heart.
Sure enough, Hook-nosed Man imdiately lunged toward the youth.
Just like last ti, Chu Huaixu hurled his Spirit Sword.
Then, unleashing full movent speed, he kicked off a nearby wall and pounced forward.
The curved blade slashed at the incoming Spirit Sword, deflecting it. Then, twisting mid-air, it curved toward Chu Huaixu.
A gash tore across his chest, but his right hand already gripped the Evil Cultivator’s wrist, channeling Spiritual Energy to wrench it hard!
“Crack!”
The sharp pain, coupled with the wrist being twisted, made the curved blade fall from Hook-nosed Man’s hand.
Chu Huaixu kicked the blade mid-air—sending it flying, directly severing the man’s left leg.
“Aaaaargh!”
A scream erupted.
This outer disciple of the Dao Gate was ruthless. Taking the opportunity, he struck Hook-nosed Man’s skull with a forceful palm.
The Evil Cultivator’s body instantly went limp—dead.
Afterward, Chu Huaixu looked down at the bloody gash on his chest. Seeing it wasn’t serious, he moved forward.
He wasn't too badly hurt.
He looked at the youth and, just like before, asked, “‘Don’t be afraid. I’m from the Dao Gate. Are you alright?’”
“‘Why!’” The youth looked up at him, suddenly screaming with rage and heartbreak.
“‘Why did you only co now…’”
“‘…’”
“‘You’re the one who killed them!’” The youth said the sa words again.
Chu Huaixu looked at his eyes, then at the shallow wound on his own chest.
He stepped forward two paces, his gaze turning cold.
“‘Jibber-jabbering about what?!’”
“‘Dumb little shit!’”
“Smack—!” He slapped the youth hard, knocking him out on the spot. Out of sight, out of mind, he turned and left the town without looking back.
The third loop began—just as expected.
Chu Huaixu stepped into the town once more, as if it were a new beginning each ti.
Only this ti, he encountered five Evil Cultivators.
“‘Shit, too careless!’” he thought.
Ti to run!
“‘How could I rush in to eliminate evil with so little preparation?’”
It was as if he was destined to go to that place.
Chu Huaixu made his judgnt—if he couldn’t save anyone, then he would retreat for reinforcents, rather than impulsively throw his life away.
“‘After all, Evil Cultivators advance by devouring Spirit Embryos and others’ cultivation. If I die here, I’d just be delivering them nutrients!’”
This wasn’t demon-hunting—it was helping the Evil Path grow stronger!
Ti to bolt!
But as he was retreating, two more Evil Cultivators erged from the shadows.
“‘What the hell—ran into the whole Evil Cultivator battalion!’” Chu Huaixu was speechless.
No way out—then fight to the death!
The seven Evil Cultivators seed to want to toy with him. They kept aiming their blades at the youth to force Chu Huaixu to save him in panic.
“Hahahaha!”
Laughter echoed from the alley.
In the end, he collapsed in front of the youth, slaughtered by Evil Cultivators—his Spirit Embryo and cultivation drained.
His final sight before death was the youth’s eyes.
This ti, they were filled with fear and despair.
Though Chu Huaixu retained no mories of the previous loops, he still felt a trace of guilt in that mont.
—He had tried.
A new loop began once more.
Each cycle brought different circumstances.
Chu Huaixu made different choices.
And t different ends.
The fourth ti, the fifth... the ninth.
Chu Huaixu entered the town nine tis in total.
Across those, he slapped the youth three tis and drew his sword twice.
The other four loops varied in outco.
Like the third ti—he died in front of the youth. The fifth ti—he escaped successfully, not cornered by the Evil Cultivators.
On the other side, Han Shuangjiang had also entered the Illusion Realm.
Her experience mirrored Chu Huaixu’s.
Outside the town, descending to eliminate evil.
The only difference was—her opponents were female Evil Cultivators, and the one she had to save was a girl.
But like the boy, every ti Han Shuangjiang saved her, the girl’s eyes overflowed with hatred.
Over nine loops, facing different situations, Big Ice Block made different choices.
Nine loops. Nine outcos.
But never once did she raise her sword against the girl.
“Boom—!”
Chu Huaixu and Han Shuangjiang both felt a sharp pain in their consciousness at the sa ti.
The sealed mories flooded back like a tide.
The experiences of the nine loops were forced into their minds.
And before the Grand Hall at Ask-Dao Peak, not far away stood a small pavilion. Hanging within it—a grand bell.
Etched with the massive character “Dao,” the Dao Gate had never nad it—it was simply called the Dao Bell.
At this mont, the Dao Bell suddenly rang.
Its sound echoed through all of Ask-Dao Peak, making the high elders in the hall rise to their feet.
“‘Why is the Dao Bell ringing?’”
“‘This is... Dao Ancestor’s Seal!’”
What shocked Xiang Yan and the others more—three rings had sounded.
“‘Three rings—that’s the Three-character Seal!’”
Everyone imdiately realized: Chu Huaixu and Han Shuangjiang must have encountered so fortune within the Dao Ancestor Inheritance Secret Realm.
“‘So... who received the Dao Ancestor’s Seal? Who got the Three-character Seal?’”
As they speculated wildly, the Dao Bell rang again.
Three more tis.
They imdiately understood—both of them had received fortune! Both were granted the Dao Ancestor’s Seal!
“‘And they both received Three-character Seals. We only got Two-character ones ourselves,’” Xiang Yan and the others remarked with emotion, smiling.
Their Dao Ancestor Seals had been obtained only after becoming True Disciples and entering the Gentleman Temple.
The Dao Ancestor had drawn on the power of all things in Heaven and Earth to create three thousand Dao Seals, left to future generations.
Every Dao Gate disciple who entered the Gentleman Temple would have a chance to receive one Dao Ancestor Seal.
And every generation’s Master of the Gentleman Temple could grant an extra seal—which was always a Three-character Seal.
“‘The question now is—what three characters did Chu Huaixu and Han Shuangjiang receive?’”
