The Little squirrel born from the green light manifested out of the Domain, slowly climbing over my body and standing over my left shoulder… I really didn't know what to say at all when this happened. From one mont to another, as if being called, this little squirrel appeared.
It might have a faint spiritual presence, but this wasn't a normal spirit at all, it was mostly composed of a Nature Soul! Yes, this little squirrel wasn't a normal spirit but the Nature Soul of soone made into one.
It was most likely Emilio's Nature Soul, which had rged into my Domain, becoming one with it and also a guardian of this Domain.
I rember we faintly saw him and Jose before, but they disappeared before we could even approach them, before we could even do anything.
For so ti I thought it was so sort of illusion, maybe that they were gone… But their presence remains here, they're one with nature, yes, but within the nature of the Domain.
"E-Emilio?!" Judith gasped as she saw the little squirrel, rushing towards it.
I thought the squirrel would disappear before she were to reach him, but it remained, her hands slowly approached, as the squirrel looked at her and…
"Kyuh!"
It bit her finger?!
"Ouch! H-Hey!"
Judith was surprised, her tears were still there, but they slowly faded as she looked at the little squirrel glancing at her.
"Emilio? Is that really you, son? Is this… your Nature Soul? Are you still with us?"
Jannis walked towards Emilio, who glanced at her with his little eyes.
For a mont, I could faintly see so light within those little eyes, emotions, very strong ones.
But Emilio wasn't a human anymore, he wasn't in the sa realm as we were, Spirits lived in multiple Realms at the sa ti after all.
"…"
The squirrel walked towards my hand, and I slowly moved my hand towards Jannis.
Grandma Jannis smiled, caressing the little squirrel's head, and then kissing his forehead.
"We will always love you, my son… No matter what you beco, and no matter where you are now."
"…"
The squirrel shed a few tears, as it touched its face.
Judith walked towards it, wanting to touch him as well.
But the squirrel glared at her angrily.
"W-Why are you angry with ?"
"…"
The little squirrel crossed his little arms.
"I'm sorry if I made you upset… Emilio… I miss you…"
"…"
The squirrel looked back at her for a mont, and then jumped over her.
"Uwah?!"
And then ran towards her, rubbing his little snout on her face.
"E-Emilio? Is this really you?"
"…"
The squirrel looked into her eyes for a few monts, trying to tell her sothing, even without words.
"Ah…"
Judith quickly realized sothing, as the little squirrel cleansed her tears with his fluffy tail.
"Are you upset because I'm crying so much?"
The squirrel nodded energetically.
"I'm sorry… I've beco a crybaby… It's all because I really miss you, little brother."
"…"
The squirrel looked at Judith again, before jumping towards Jannis' shoulder.
"Judith… There's sothing you must understand, what I said earlier…" Jannis said with a gentle smile, caressing the little squirrel. "Life and death are part of nature. Our true goal is not to die forever or sothing. But to beco one with the nature we love and protect, dear."
"But Emilio…" Judith muttered.
"I know he passed away younger… And it is a tragedy," Jannis looked at the squirrel with eyes full of sorrow. "But that also ans he has joined nature much earlier than we did… Death is not the end, Judith. It is a new beginning."
"A new… beginning…" Judith muttered, looking at Emilio while cleaning her tears. "Will you wait for us, Emilio? So we can go with nature as well when our ti cos?"
Emilio looked at her, nodding gently.
"T-Thank you…" Judith muttered.
I quickly grabbed a Spirit Nut from my Inventory, a snack that Acorn loved, and I gave it to Emilio.
"I know you're no longer a mortal being like we are, you're sothing between a spirit and sothing even higher, Emilio. But take this, a snack for the journey."
"…!"
Emilio happily grabbed the nut, beginning to bite on it, and seemingly looking very happy.
"I have a friend that is a big squirrel, his na is Acorn… He's a lovely boy just like you! He loves those very much."
"…"
Emilio grabbed the nut and placed it inside his mouth, his left cheek looking all swollen.
"Chuu, chuu…!"
And then, with a little squeaking sound, the squirrel ran into the grass, and slowly disappeared into green light.
"I wish… Rudras was here to see this, he missed it…" Judith sighed. "Maybe Emilio will co back one day for him too?"
"Who knows… But we know that this Domain is a gateway for Souls and Spirits," said Jannis. "A wonderful place where we can even et those that left us behind. Thank you for this opportunity, Goddess Elayne."
"Oh please, I-I didn't really do anything…" I muttered. "But I'm so happy you were able to t him and talk with him… I hope we could've talked more, that we could've known him better… But I'm happy just knowing he's fine, wherever he is now."
" too…" Jannis nodded with a gentle smile.
"Hah…" Judith sighed. "Oh well, I do feel a bit better now… I-I suppose…"
"How about you go tell Rudras about what we saw?" Jannis asked. "Maybe you can lift his spirits this way?"
"A-Ah, good idea! Rudras!" Judith cried, quickly turning into a crow and flying high in the sky too.
As we were left alone with Mark and Jannis, I noticed Katherine flying away into the garden.
Ah right, I wanted to talk with her!
"Um, I'll be leaving! Katherine! Wait! Let's talk, please!"
As I ran chasing the little fairy, I noticed Jannis talking with Mark right away.
"Should we address you as a God as well, Lord Mark?" She called.
"O-Oh please, I am just a human! It's so embarrassing if you use such honorifics…" Mark felt embarrassed.
"Just a human? Hahah! That is a good joke sir," she giggled.
"It wasn't a joke…" he sighed.
