As Harumi spoke telepathically with her Heroic Spirit, she noticed that Frank, her boyfriend, was acting strange. He was gasping for air, sweating lightly, and constantly scratching his hand.

"...?"

"Haaa... Haaa... Haaa..."

Frank’s vision blurred as sothing sinister seized his entire being. Dozens of white and purple snakes coiled around his body, soul, and heart.

White scales flickered across his hands at tis; his eyes flashed red before returning to normal. He was desperately suppressing it, sothing dark that had suddenly manifested and forged a contract with him last night.

A pair of snake-like crimson eyes stared into his soul. Frank’s own eyes widened in horror.

"Why are you afraid of , Master? Am I not what you desired? The power... to finally protect your family? I will serve you with everything I have. I shall eliminate all your enemies. Say the word, and the world will know the rage of my Master."

"Shut up... get out of my head! SHUT UP!"

Suddenly everyone turned toward Frank, who had scread without apparent reason. The director tilted his head, sensing a dark, cursed energy swirling within him. "Huh, are you okay, Frank-kun? Need to go to the infirmary?"

"I-I’m fine..." Frank sighed, the oppressive presence abruptly vanishing. "S-Sorry, maybe I was just having a nightmare..."

"Ah, so you fell asleep, huh? That’s no good! I’ll forgive you only this ti, okay?" The professor laughed. "Anyway, as I was saying, the principles of Onmyōdō rest on several combined factors, but I would highlight Three Primary Pillars: the Five Elents of Feng Shui, Yin and Yang, and Star-based Divination. I suppose exorcism and the ability to bind spirits into Shikigami could be considered a fourth, but they largely fall under the three main ones. Now, let’s start with the basics! The Five Elents of Feng Shui: Fire, Water, Wood, tal, and Earth. It is said that all other elents are born from these. They are the very pillars of nature. Usually, to beco a great sorcerer, it’s better to master one or two first. Trying to master all five at once would be too slow and detrintal to your growth. And this is precisely where Elental Spiritual Roots co into play! Many of you have unawakened ones, so shall I help you awaken them? How about... Hmm, Elena! You’ve got a really strong one! Would you let awaken your root?"

"?" Elena blinked in surprise. "I... well... okay." She couldn’t refuse. She walked down and sat in the chair. "Um, professor, is this going to hurt?"

"Not at all!" the professor assured her. "Now, everyone, watch closely. I will show you what an Elental Spiritual Root looks like."

The director placed his hands on Elena’s back and channeled his internal Mana into her.

And then...

FLUOSH!

"Aahh!"

Elena gasped as her power surged dramatically. Green and gold root-like patterns spread across her pale skin, making her glow brightly from head to toe.

Spiritual Energy poured out almost boundlessly, astonishing everyone in the classroom.

"Ooh! A Dual Elental Spiritual Root of Wood and Earth! This is truly incredible, Elena," the director said. "But... Huh? Oh? What’s this?"

Suddenly her aura shifted and expanded, taking the shape of a beautiful divine spiritual tree whose branches reached outward in every direction.

"W-What the hell?"

"Does she have that much power?!"

"No way..."

"This is incredible!"

"Um, director?" Elena asked nervously. "I think that’s enough..."

"Yes, my apologies. I was simply... amazed," the director said warmly, patting her shoulders. "I think it’s done. Do you feel any different?"

"I... do..." Elena felt an imnse flow of energy coursing through her body and an even deeper bond with nature than before. "Thank you!"

"Heh, no need to thank —you still have a lot to learn!" he replied. "Alright, let’s continue the class!"

"La, la, la~ Hm~ Hm~ Hm~"

In the heart of Shibuya, a child with short black hair and blue eyes—dressed in a white shirt and black shorts—wandered the streets, painting the walls with all sorts of fantasy creatures and cartoon characters.

"Oooh, this is my greatest creation yet, heheh... hahaha!"

He laughed with pure, whimsical joy while Japanese passersby glared at him with contempt. So approached, asking if he was lost.

"A-Are you lost, child?"

"You shouldn’t be painting on the walls of a business like this!"

"Where are your parents?"

"Oh?" The child tilted his head. "My parents? I guess they died?"

"What?!"

"A-Are you sure you want to be here?"

"Let’s go to the police station, dear..."

"Nuh-uh, I don’t want to! If you want to take there, catch , hehe!"

The boy darted through the streets as a few people gave chase, though most quickly gave up. Eventually, a couple of police officers arrived and decided to apprehend him.

"Let go!"

"Co on now, boy, where are your parents?"

"Let’s go to the police station so we can find your ho."

"I don’t wanna! I don’t wannaaaaaa!"

As the boy began crying angrily and shaking uncontrollably, the ink pen in his hand pulsed with mysterious rainbow energy.

FLAAASH!

The countless paintings and cartoon characters he had drawn across the walls suddenly ca alive. Everyone watching froze in stunned silence.

"W-Wha...! What’s...! What’s that?!" one officer scread, releasing the boy as a giant cartoon mouse grinned down at him with blank black eyes.

"I-Is this so kind of event? A TV show?" the other policeman wondered, still holding on.

"Let go!" the boy shouted furiously. "Uugh...! Willy, help !"

"..."

"Eh? Wait...! Are you soone in a suit or—"

Without hesitation, the enormous cartoon mouse swung its fists downward, pumling the policeman with dozens of brutal punches until nothing remained but pulp.

"Aaaahhhh!"

"W-What is that?!"

"A monster?!"

"D-Did a gate open?!"

"R-Run! Call the Hunters! Run!"

People scread and panicked, fleeing in every direction and causing utter chaos. The boy laughed maniacally, blood-splattered, as he held his pen and began drawing on the ground.

"Ooh, I’m going to make you a friend now! What do you want as a friend? Wait, how about a girlfriend? A mouse girl!"

"Willy" stared silently at his creator, smiling wordlessly, his black-and-white form now streaked with vivid red.

"Caster! Caster! Where are you? C-Caster?!"

Finally soone found the boy again. Her eyes widened at the horrific scene he had created.

"Ah! Master! Look! I drew a lot!"

"Oh no, what have you done?! C-Co on, hurry!"

The woman rushed to him, scooped him up like a child, and fled as fast as she could.

"Eeh, but I want to draw more!"

"You can do it once we get back ho! Oh my god, I can’t believe you did this...!"

"So boring..."
