Mira felt strength surge through her. She actually forgot she had that. Everything in her head was mumble jumbo with all that was going on with her right now. "Thank you!" Mira breath. She said that both to the system and to Jia Hao.
While the regeneration was working, the tornt ca hand in hand. With every surge of strength she felt, her stomach cramped like a constant reminder that even a special grade skill would not make child birth easy for her.
"Hang in there, Mira. We will be there soon." Jia Hao uttered. His head brushed past fur curtains before the rest of his body. He pushed the curtains away with his face so not to let it touch her as they entered the room. Mira had to admit, that was thoughtful, the wrong thing to be concerned about right now but thoughtful regardless.
Jia Hao placed Mira on the bed, setting the already folded fur on the bed behind her back as he helped her lay down. "Is this okay?" He asked. He wanted her to be as comfortable as she could be in this mont. Mira nodded. Jia Hao sighed with relief.
For the first ti in decades, a new thing would be happening in the pride land. There would be a birth of an heir and Jia Hao was equally excited, burdened, distressed and anxious. He had mixed feelings about so many things but despite his longing for an heir, he wanted his wife to be okay. She was all that mattered to him right now and it was absurd. Not because of how deeply he cared for her, but because of how much he craved an heir. Never in his life did he think another life would take more priority over the thing he craved since he was crowned Lion king.
"I will call for the healer and so mid wives. We will provide whatever you need, just state it. I will be back soon." Jia Hao said to the woman on the bed. Mira nodded, desperately wanting the pain to be over. She had nothing to do but accept and wait. Jia Hao kissed her forehead, holding her palm in his. "You’re the strongest woman I know, you will get through this."
Mira bit her lower lip. While she appreciated the support- "Jia Hao," She called slowly, breathing hard. Her brows furrowed and her eyes shut as she tried to steady her breathing. "GO AND GET THE MIDWIVES ALREADY!" Mira yelled.
Jia Hao bolted. Before long, lionesses sward the room. Mira had no idea these many lionesses existed in the pride till today. Everyone of them surrounded her, picking one thing or the other. The midwives were barking orders and everyone else was adhering to it. The room was chaotic but in all this ti, Mira could not help but wonder why NO ONE had T HER YET!!
"For pete’s sakes! I NEED ATTENTION HERE!!" Mira yelled, loosing her mind. She was going through so much at once. Soreness, anguish, cramping and contractions. Her body was in so much discomfort that she could not think at all.
The midwives surrounded Mira. They looked like wolves sward around their next prey, which was a feeble, helpless rabbit. And from where she laid, she was that rabbit.
One of the mid wives held her hand, coming to her side. The midwife bucked Mira’s hip and another placed a warm cloth over her back and lower belly.
Okay, that was relaxing. It helped dim the pain. "Try to breathe, you are almost there to get a baby out."
Almost there? A baby? She had not fully dilated yet? How much cramping was needed for her hole to open up to get a damn baby out of her?!!
Mira let out a scream. Tears welled up in her eyes and her hands clenched harder on the midwife’s. Soone dampened her forehead with fur soaked with warm water, wiping her clean all over as another fanned with palm leaves. Mira’s legs was spread apart to give space for a child and that was all that she could see from her line of sight.
"You are there now. Co on, mother, push." One of them said. Mira faced the ceiling, shutting her eyes hard as she let out a loud groan, trying to push. She did not know what push ant. She had only watched those in movies but what did they actually push? How did they do the pushing?
"Push harder." Resounded in her ears. Mira tried. Her body was so tensed and sore that she could not take it any longer and she eased up, gasping.
"Is the baby out?" She breathed.
"Not yet."
Mira groaned. This was so fucking hard.
"Try again, mother. I know you’re doing your best. Try to add a little more pressure this ti." Hearing that made Mira nearly lose her mind. She could barely feel herself, her body had given into the pain and every damn ti she felt relief, the panging began like it was a constant reminder that there was no escaping this.
Mira grit her teeth and groaned out loud as she let out her hardest push. "We see a head." Blurred through the multiple voices in the room. "Go harder, mother, you’re doing this."
Mira let out two sharp breaths and tried again, going harder. She felt like she was about to pass out. Fluids soaked her legs and feet and she knew that large sum of fluid ca out of her body.
Sothing slithered out of her. Relief evoked Mira the mont it it. There was cheer. Congratulatory speech and restlessness in the background.
"A lion heir. An actual lion heir."
"This was a miracle!"
"Quick, attend to the baby!"
"Is that is? Let . . . Let see my baby." Mira requested, completely fatigued. The regeneration was happening and it made her feel better.
"Oh, this is new." The midwife said. "Please calm down, mother, but it seems like you are carrying multiple cubs."
