Atlas Hallow has sharp eyes, yet he hasn’t peeled away Charlotte Miller’s facade to see clearly; otherwise, he would discover an intensely passionate woman beneath her quiet and gentle mask.

"So, what’s your solution now?" He was rather curious about how Charlotte tackled this issue, especially given the short ti, aning that Daniel Parker certainly couldn’t get a complete picture.

"I gave a sum of money, that’s the basic part, but it ultimately depends on the condition of the driver at the hospital. If he loses his ability to work, there will still be so trouble." Charlotte felt a bit helpless, her smile turning bitter. She could have just left the million to settle the matter, but morally, it didn’t sit right, especially since she still had this ability.

"Let’s not talk about this. It’s a Miller Family matter, and I’ll handle it." Charlotte bit her lip, her gaze becoming sowhat ethereal, her thoughts drifting to so unseen place.

"I can ignore the Miller Family’s issues, but can I ignore your matters?" The arm encircling her exerted a little more force, making Charlotte feel as though she was being squeezed by a massive python. Tightening his grip, she could hear the fine bones in her body creaking.

This man has reached a maddening level of capriciousness.

One mont he’s fine, but the next, he’s a completely different person, his voice even turning icy and sharp like ice shards.

Atlas Hallow couldn’t suppress his inner anger; she disliked discussing anything related to the Miller Family with him, as if he had no connection to it.

He was inherently a cool and detached person, further disliking to ddle in others’ affairs; he didn’t like the Miller Family either, but he liked her.

Because it’s her matters, he wants to be involved, wants to know everything, or rather, wants everything within his control.

"This issue concerns Luna Miller. I don’t like you being involved in this matter. Back then, Luna ran away from the marriage only because she believed you were... lacking in that aspect. If she learns you’re not what she imagined, with her character, I’m not sure what would happen. Do you want caught between arguing with her, or leaving you to her? These are things we don’t want to see, so let handle it, okay? Don’t interfere in the Miller Family’s matters, and if the day every truly cos when you need to know, I’ll tell you." Charlotte felt herself being tightly held against his chest, almost unable to breathe.

Atlas Hallow’s hand loosened a bit, yet he still confined her within his range, his thin lips brushing against her ear, his deep voice striking her eardrum word by word, "Tell , would you ever give away?"

This is what he truly wants to know; he obviously won’t allow Charlotte to do such a thing, but whether he allows it or not, and what she may think and do are two separate matters.

"No." Charlotte asserted firmly.

She absolutely wouldn’t do that; not giving up Atlas Hallow would an Luna would argue with her or cause a scene, but yielding would an never seeing Luna again in this lifeti, which is too unbearable.

Moreover, Atlas Hallow absolutely isn’t a man to be manipulated, and she couldn’t afford to let him go.

This answer apparently pleased Atlas, the arc of his lips slowly lifting, still close to her ear, saying, "Smart woman, but being too smart isn’t good. Be careful, or I’ll have to open up that little brain of yours and take a good look..."

Half jest, half earnest, it still startled Charlotte enough to make her stiffen slightly, imagining a bloody scene in her mind; yet his kiss fell tenderly behind her ear.

It’s always this feeling, half freezing, half burning, yet equally dangerous.

Hailey Hill sat alone in her room; the servants had already brewed nourishing soup for her. She gritted her teeth and drank bowl after bowl.

Should she be grateful that no matter how much tonic she consud, it wouldn’t cause excess fat?

She laughed at herself a bit, knowing her situation. No matter how much she drank, it was just sothing missing from her body, rendering even its functions inadequate. Her slowly sagging breasts and her flat yet sowhat deflated abdon kept her from daring to look at herself naked.

If she couldn’t bear to see it herself, how much less would she dare in Atlas Hallow’s presence?

What she could show him was vulnerability, the weaker and more pitiable, the better.
