"Have you fallen in love with ?" Atlas Hallow looked at her, slightly amused by her voracious deanor. Could this young woman really be won over by a barbecue al alone?
"Didn’t you hear clearly? I was talking about girls. I can’t really be considered a girl anymore, and this identity was ended by you," Charlotte Miller finished speaking and pointed to the ribs he was grilling, adding, "I want them well-done; I don’t eat them bloody."
Atlas Hallow nodded, skillfully sprinkling a bit of fine sea salt and black pepper on the ribs, continuing to turn them over.
"Charlotte, why do you enjoy finance? Aside from your elders’ influence, of course." He was curious. Most people would expect a charming girl like her to be passionate about shopping, raising exotic pets, mastering flower arranging, tea ceremonies, or design. Yet, she had chosen to engage in finance, directly dealing with money—a man’s battleground where she seed to maneuver effortlessly.
Charlotte had ntioned wanting to beco like her great-grandfather, but there must be more than that. Simply liking sothing wouldn’t lead to her level of success.
"Numbers are a peculiar thing. Behind every change in numbers, a fact is suggested. That’s where judgnt cos in. So numbers are genuine, while others are mostly inflated. I can clearly see the essence behind numbers. Would you call it a talent? Or perhaps it’s genetic?" Her ancestors from the Morgon Family were remarkable bankers, and she carried their bloodline, so could it be hereditary?
"Having seen so many numbers, what do you think of my project?" Atlas Hallow’s voice was as enchanting as the air around them, but Charlotte was not entranced.
"The data you provided isn’t complete; there are still so things hidden. But I’m certain this project is profitable, and the profit outweighs the risks, so I’ll have my clients invest in it. Even though your data isn’t comprehensive, it’s sufficient to consider another possibility..." Charlotte contentedly poured herself another cup of date tea from the thermos, feeling warmth fill her stomach as she drank.
"What kind of possibility?" Atlas Hallow placed the ribs, now both sides golden and tender, into Charlotte’s plate, sat beside her, picked up the cup of date tea, took a sip, and waited for her response.
"Because I know the most and the most critical points in ti, if anyone were to ruin this project, I would be the most likely person to do it." Charlotte spoke indifferently, picking up the rib and eating it, unexpectedly finding Atlas Hallow’s culinary skills rivaled those of a chef.
"Would you?" Atlas asked quietly, his gaze landing thoughtfully on Charlotte’s face, whiter and more translucent than the first snow.
"No, why would I ruin it? My clients are counting on it to make money." Charlotte shook her head. Why would she destroy a project she painstakingly created? She wasn’t crazy.
The two snuggled together, and Atlas Hallow couldn’t help but kiss Charlotte’s lips, causing her to giggle...
"Hey, with all this black pepper taste in my mouth, do you still want to kiss ?" Even she felt the taste was a bit strong, but Atlas didn’t mind, giving her a deep kiss.
Sweetness lingered in the air, spreading through the entire forest, love overflowing like water...
Charlotte never imagined that after such sweet days, she would face her first crisis at Hallow Clan.
Perhaps it was because the sky was too blue and the air too fresh in the forest. When she returned to the crowded city, she felt uneasy, her throat a bit sore. She didn’t know if it was psychological or if she ate too much barbecue that day, causing so heatiness.
White chrysanthemums blood in the water, swaying in their most beautiful forms, although she had no ti to admire, gulping down to alleviate the dryness in her throat.
"President Hallow, all the directors have arrived, and the eting will start in twenty minutes." Daniel Parker said after a glance at Atlas Hallow, noticing no change in the boss’s expression.
Today’s eting was a very special board eting, with a vote to decide whether to hand over the entire new energy city project to Charlotte Miller. Yet, according to Daniel, Atlas Hallow seed not worried at all—is this a sign of his absolute confidence?
The conference room was filled with directors holding shares in Hallow Clan, with Ava Walker seated among them, a hint of a smile on her lips as though pleased with everything she saw.
She wanted to see if more than half disagreed with Charlotte staying at Hallow Clan, would that Fox Spirit finally roll out?
She couldn’t stand Atlas Hallow and Charlotte being on the sa floor for an extra second, especially after learning that Atlas had taken Charlotte on a three-day vacation, and a small portion of the top floor had been designated as Charlotte’s office area.
This, however, only increased Ava Walker’s confidence; if Atlas liked Charlotte, he wouldn’t let Charlotte be pregnant for Hailey Hill. If he liked Hailey, he wouldn’t spoil Charlotte this way, so Ava believed Atlas liked no one.
Since he liked no one, her chances were pretty good, weren’t they?
People sat discussing among themselves...
"She’s so young to handle such matters. So won nowadays think they can get projects just by opening their mouths; what a joke!"
"Exactly, and who knows what President Hallow is thinking; what if sothing goes wrong?"
"I’ve heard that the companies Rowan Diaz recomnded were the most experienced ones. Why didn’t they even consider, there could be sothing fishy..."
The discussions grew louder, but fell silent when the door opened, so quiet a pin drop could be heard.
Atlas Hallow always carried an aura of intimidation, instilling a bit of fear. As his gaze slowly swept over them, it felt like X-rays capable of revealing their thoughts could not be hidden under his intense stare...
