Now reading: Chapter 212 - 139 Will you always be this good to me? from Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game, a Romance novel by Tang Moye.

This is the first ti she has seriously prepared such a sumptuous breakfast for him; he never appreciates it, and although these are semi-prepared, the taste is not amazing, but it’s alright. Amir Hallow eats slowly and thodically, watching Charlotte Miller’s small face while eating, and his low and moist voice rises in the air: "It’s a day off today, I’ll take you out for a walk. What do you think, Mrs. Hallow?"

"Sure." Charlotte nodded. She naturally had no objections; it was better than staying at ho.

She didn’t expect that by "walk," he ant hiking up the mountain. No wonder he asked her to wear soft, flat shoes when they left the house.

The mountain path wound its way upward, slowly leading to the summit. Charlotte looked at her legs, which were slightly wobbly: "This isn’t exactly relaxing, is it?"

This was heavy physical exertion. After indulging all night, she really didn’t have much energy left. Charlotte looked at Amir Hallow’s outstretched hand, pouting, and could only let him pull her step by step up the mountain.

Today, Amir was dressed very casually: a dark grey sweater, black trousers, and a thin windbreaker. His wrist was adorned with a green Rolex Submariner from the sports series. When they were heading out, he intended to bring her hiking. Is this guy holding a grudge against her saying he’s not young anymore?

Physically, he really was much better than young people. Even though it was him who consud more energy last night, she felt like she was the one who couldn’t keep up.

The stone steps led upwards, one by one. He held her hand like that, continuously moving up. Perhaps because the weather was too cold, everyone probably preferred to stay ho on such a day, only she believed his words about taking a relaxing stroll. Barely a quarter of the way up, and her calves were already cramping painfully.

"Amir, you’re doing this on purpose." Charlotte stopped, breathing heavily; she was about to be exhausted.

"On purpose for what?" Amir stood on the step above, watching Charlotte with one hand on her waist, breathing heavily, eyebrows and eyes smiling as he spoke.

Because of the hike, his broad forehead was slightly sweaty. At this ti, Amir seed to possess a rugged and uninhibited energy different from his usual stern and strict deanor in the office.

"You deliberately brought mountain hiking. Look how cold it is; who else would co hiking?" Charlotte complained with a frown, looking at Amir appearing completely unfazed, wishing she could bite him to release her frustration.

Amir stood in front of her, smiling, then slowly squatted down: "Mrs. Hallow, if you can’t walk anymore, let do the honors."

The broad and sturdy back unfolded before her eyes, full of a sense of security.

"Can you handle it?" They’ve already climbed quite high. Is he really going to carry her?

"Mrs. Hallow, asking a man if he can handle it is very dangerous." Amir turned his head to look at her, then patted his shoulder: "Co on..."

Charlotte smiled faintly, taking a breath of the mountain air. Perhaps because of the many plants and the high altitude, the crispness and freshness made her feel much more spirited. Her slender arms draped over his shoulder, and her entire self lay on Amir’s back.

His scent was pleasant, more distinctive and chilly in the woods, surpassing the fragrance of grass and trees. The scorching body temperature blended tightly with her, warming her completely: "Amir, will you always be this good to ?"

Lying on his shoulder, obedient and quiet like a child, wrapping her arms around him made him experience an illusion, hoping to keep walking like this forever, hoping the mountain path would never end.

"Yes..." Amir gently replied with these two words, yet they fell heavily in Charlotte’s heart.

Will he always be this good to her? Is that true?

But she hadn’t figured out Amir’s purpose in marrying her. This promise seed like a mirage, so illusory that it seed completely untouchable.

Yes, he will always be good to her, continuously like this.

Because of her, he even overturned all his previous promises...

Hailey Hill never thought Amir would tell her that he couldn’t let Charlotte bear a child for her anymore, that he wasn’t prepared to keep the promise.

He said he could give her a worry-free life, but he couldn’t give her a child.

"Hailey, I didn’t know that liking soone ant this, unable to bear her being aggrieved, unable to bear anything of anyone else on her beside ." Amir spoke with utmost sincerity, a light in his eye she had never seen before.

Amir told her he could give her a child by finding the most excellent man possible and a clean girl, to bear a child for her, but that child couldn’t be his.

"Charlotte is very special; she will mind this, and I will mind it even more. People can’t predict the future. When I said I could, I didn’t know things would turn out like this. You must know, if I really gave you a child, it would not be out of true affection, and that would be irresponsible towards an unknown life." Amir clearly told her that everything was impossible now.

Irresponsible—only now does he say having a child is irresponsible to the child, but is he responsible for her?

Never expected Amir to have a day of self-deception.

Love and hate are really just a thin line apart; the forr is an angel, and the latter a devil...

Hailey Hill was entangled in a world of mixed love and hate, in one second wanting to continue trying a little harder, but in the next wanting to kill Charlotte and even Amir. What she couldn’t have, no one else must have either.

Struggling back and forth in this way, it was as if black vines were tangled in her eyes, endlessly piercing into her heart.

"I can’t find any news about Ava Walker. I don’t know if she’s dead." Hailey spoke coldly, having lost any patience with Ella Johnson’s repeated phone calls, she tossed out this line.

The woman on the other end of the phone had a sowhat sinister tone: "Impossible, the Hill Family has videos in my possession. I’m going to see Amir."

"What does that have to do with ? Stop calling ." After saying that, Hailey hung up. She didn’t want to deal with these things anymore; she detested Ella and Ava imnsely.

Ella’s face was pale, her fingers holding the phone trembled slightly. How did things co to this?

It was all because of that detestable Charlotte. If she hadn’t reacted so strongly, no one would have noticed the drugging. Now she’s still with the Hallow Family with her daughter.

It’s unacceptable. She must return to the Hallow Family. She needs to see what’s happening since it’s been several days, and her daughter hasn’t been able to make even a single phone call; sothing must have happened.

Ava Walker didn’t know how long it had been since she left this room. That bastard Amir was having simple food delivered sotis bread, sotis plain noodles, and sotis even just a bowl of rice, toying with her like a cat with a mouse, watching her beco anxious and crazed.

Does the Hallow Family really fear nothing now? Can that video truly no longer threaten them?

Ava paced back and forth in the room like a trapped beast, thinking of ways to escape, but this ti the Hallow Family had resolved to confine her; she now realized everything was not by chance.

Through the years, Amir had long been thinking of ways to respond. Over almost a decade, Flix Hallow’s heart condition had deteriorated to the point where it was now bad enough that his dical record could support outside dical care.

She had never really understood Amir. Even his forbearance and tolerance were never out of the affection she assud. He was rely waiting for the right mont and creating opportunities.

He waited for the Hallow Clan to grow imnsely powerful, and for Flix to have a perfect dical record; he spent nearly ten years on this. It was indeed terrifying.

And Charlotte was rely a catalyst; yet, if not for her, perhaps this wouldn’t have ignited so quickly.

So, Amir shouldn’t really love Charlotte, should he? He rely used her presence to stimulate himself, looking for an opportunity to explode, while the one he might truly love could be that frail Hailey Hill?

Then eliminate Charlotte’s child first. As long as she’s pregnant, no matter how much Amir loves Hailey Hill, it won’t matter. The best outco is for the Hallow Family to be without descendants, and as for Hailey, Charlotte would likely not spare her once she finds out all of this, right?

It doesn’t matter who Amir likes; once he has liked them, they all must die.

Charlotte didn’t know that there were two won who wished her dead because, at the mont, she felt very sweet and happy, even the air around them seed filled with a sweet scent.

Amir, who wasn’t exactly young anymore, had managed to carry her down the mountain step by step just like that.

Beads of sweat ford on his forehead, and Charlotte reached out to gently wipe it away, whispering in his ear: "Actually, I was just joking this morning, Mr. Hallow, your vigor, even the eighteen-year-olds would find it unmatched, far beyond their reach." After saying that, she gently bit Amir’s ear, and as her smile spread, the warm and gentle breath scattered over Amir’s neck, sowhat ticklish, also a bit tender...
