"Where is the person who hit her?" Fifth Young Master Foster’s gaze fell upon Cecilia Wilson’s face, her black hair slightly tousled, covering her full forehead. Her eyes, like cold stars, were closed, with only thick eyelashes concealing all her illness-induced frailty. Her face was flushed, but her lips were pale and cracked with fine lines. How did she beco so ill? Fifth Young Master’s heart suddenly clenched tightly, feeling both tense and painful.

"They should still be at the police station," one of Fifth Young Master’s subordinates stamred, noting that the master didn’t play by the rules. How could they intervene with the driver who scratched Cecilia? Unless Fifth Young Master ntioned it, they couldn’t take any actions.

It seed it was a mistake not to act this ti.

"No need for compensation, just break whichever hand was driving, and that’s the end of it." Fifth Young Master frowned at the hanging IV bottle, wondering how much longer it would take. He’d never dealt with such things before, but he couldn’t stand spending another second in the hospital, bothered by the strong human scent combined with the sll of disinfectant, a combination that was simply unbearable.

The subordinate was montarily stunned. Which hand drove the car? Don’t you need both hands to drive?

Fifth Young Master was always peculiar; even his words often left people baffled. However, he decided to break both hands as ordered, sparing himself from being questioned and unable to explain clearly.

This kind of minor scrape usually costs at most a few hundred bucks. Cecilia was already ill, and fainting wasn’t really the driver’s fault. Now, breaking both hands as Fifth Young Master suggested ant literally crushing the bones, causing not only pain but also a long recovery period. With both hands unable to work, it would take at least several months to recuperate, making it truly not worth the trouble.

When Cecilia woke up, it was already the middle of the night. As soon as she opened her eyes, it felt like her skull was about to crack open, with countless tiny hamrs pounding relentlessly in her head. She wanted to move but felt utterly powerless.

"Miss Wilson, you’re awake?" As the room light switched on, Cecilia realized there was soone else in the room. If not for living alone for years and becoming braver, she would really have been scared to death.

The housekeeper’s face looked sowhat weary. Being older, he wasn’t as vigorous anymore, and staying up all night was quite taxing for him.

But it was still better for him to stay up than letting Fifth Young Master do so.

"Butler Kent, why am I here?" Cecilia, faintly disoriented from the fever, couldn’t grasp what had happened. Why was she in the Foster Family’s courtyard?

"Our young master brought you back. Since you’re awake, drink so water first, and then I’ll have the kitchen prepare so light food for you. After eating, you should take your dicine." Apart from their young master, the housekeeper didn’t pay much heed to anyone. Yet, Cecilia seed to attract Fifth Young Master’s attention easily, so it was wise to be cautious.

Her mind buzzing, but she managed to recall a bit. She had fainted at the police station. Was it Fifth Young Master who brought her back here? How did he know she was at the police station? As the housekeeper handed her a cup of warm water, Cecilia couldn’t think further, feeling as if her body was parched and about to crack. She took the cup and drank eagerly, nearly choking herself.

After drinking three glasses of water, she felt sowhat better.

The kitchen had prepared a bowl of very light matsutake vegetarian noodles. The matsutake broth was mild, with a few tender little greens. After finishing the entire bowl of noodles, Cecilia realized she hadn’t thanked the housekeeper.

"Thank you so much. I should head back now." She couldn’t just stay here; it wasn’t proper, and she wasn’t used to this place.

"That won’t do; Fifth Young Master hasn’t given permission, so stay here for now. Anyway, it’ll be dawn soon." The housekeeper would bet his head that Fifth Young Master would wake up very early this morning.

"Alright." Cecilia couldn’t say much more. Staying until morning wouldn’t hurt. She seed to recover quickly, feeling almost rejuvenated after drinking the water and eating the noodles, managing even to ingest the dicine. If Fifth Young Master wanted her to perform a massage tomorrow, she might just manage, though perhaps with less strength in her hands.

As dawn broke, the Foster Family’s courtyard was bustling with activity. A vehicle at the back door delivered the day’s ingredients, including fresh fish, shrimp, and crab transported here alive, various ats and fruits airfreighted from abroad, specially supplied organic vegetables, and barrels of mountain spring water brought in orderly fashion from outside the city.
