Charlotte thought that the days ahead would beco increasingly unbearable, but it seed that everything was disconnected from her expectations, even completely opposite.
Other than not being able to decide where to go on her own, everything else was relatively free. She could wander around the Hallow Family house at will, and Atlas Hallow no longer forced her to make breakfast or lunch, nor did he compel her to do those intimate things she had imagined.
Atlas Hallow was a man with terrifyingly strong desires, and Charlotte couldn’t help but wonder if he was seeing other won, like Hailey Hill?
She clearly wished she could leave him as soon as possible, yet she intensely hated the idea of him being involved with other won. Thinking about this drove her mad.
The past two days with the Hallow Family had been eventful yet ultimately uneventful, possibly due to work matters or sothing else. Atlas Hallow seed to be so busy that he was running around like a headless chicken, busy to the extent that Charlotte hadn’t seen him at all these past two days. Even though she went to bed every night with a heart full of anxiety, she would wake up to find the bed beside her empty, with no trace of anyone lying there, his pillow clean and fresh with no signs of being used.
Charlotte had been staying quietly at ho for two full days, continuously discussing divorce matters over the phone with her lawyer. However, because there were so many things to consider, the lawyer inford her that this could beco a prolonged battle, even if she didn’t require any alimony, it wouldn’t be possible to finalize the paperwork in a short ti.
If filed unilaterally, there was a fixed procedure that could take about one or two years.
She frequently thought about simply moving out, but Charlotte held back this impulsive idea because Atlas Hallow would certainly not let her leave easily, and now Ethan Baird couldn’t co back yet.
Though she maintained contact with Annie Gray, knowing that everything at the company was going well, after Ethan Baird initially set up the company’s structure, they primarily took on Hallow Clan’s business expansion, making it easy to manage. Charlotte was bored and picked up her tablet, browsing various financial news only to accidentally stumble upon news related to Jack Smith.
It was the first ti she saw Jack Smith in financial news, initially thinking whether there was a mistake in the webpage layout, with Jack Smith shifted from entertainnt news to the finance column, but after clicking on it, she realized the seriousness of the matter.
Only two or three days had passed, but so much had happened, giving Charlotte the feeling that a day in the cave was a thousand years outside.
Because it wasn’t just financial news; the entire entertainnt section, even the headline of the social section, was filled with news about Jack Smith.
The entertainnt section reported that Jack Smith’s movie was rescheduled and could not be broadcast just before its release, and that in the new film he’s shooting, all the props and expensive ancient costus were burned, resulting in significant losses. The social section reported that Jack Smith was ambushed by masked people, his hand bones broken, and those perpetrators were still at large. In the most detailed financial news she read, it was ntioned that North Studio founded by Jack Smith was in a deadlock due to the movie box office betting agreent...
All of a sudden, it seed that all misfortunes had befallen this young man whose career was previously on a teoric rise.
Reporters managed to take a photo of Jack Smith at the hospital entrance. He was still wearing ripped jeans, a loose white shirt, a hat, and sunglasses, with a conspicuous cast on his right hand, looking incredibly stiff.
He walked into a car with his assistant, showing fatigue and helplessness even from a distance.
Charlotte was no fool. With Jack Smith suddenly experiencing so many troubles, there must be soone manipulating things behind the scenes. It didn’t take much to realize that the only person who could do such a thing was Atlas Hallow.
First: He hated her close relationship with Jack Smith, and second: Only he had the power to force Jack Smith to such a dire situation so quickly.
Judging a matter cos down to motive and ability, and Atlas Hallow had both.
She must confront Atlas Hallow for a face-to-face discussion, and she couldn’t afford to delay because she didn’t know when Atlas would return, and such matters couldn’t be clearly explained over the phone.
