He watched as Charlotte stood up quickly, simultaneously walking and using her fair fingers to swiftly swipe open the phone to answer, with an urgency really akin to fearing she’d miss the call.
He turned his head to look at Charlotte, who had just walked into the bedroom and shut the door firmly.

What prompted such a strong reaction from Charlotte?
He believed the person calling must have a significant influence over her.
