"Long ti no see?" When she married into the Hallow Family for further studies, Amir was quite courteous and even sent a wedding gift. Although she didn’t take the jewelry with her, she always rembered that kindness, right?
"Charlotte, I just found out you’ve returned to the country. It was only when Daniel Parker handed the docunt for to sign that I heard you’re here. Can I bother you for a mont?" He was worried about how to find Charlotte, but here she was at the Hallow Clan. He didn’t want to miss this opportunity.
Since she was already here, they might as well resolve it together.
Charlotte could probably guess what Amir wanted to say. It must be about his mother giving her the tape recorder years ago.
But the sentence has already been passed, and Kinsley’s imprisonnt wasn’t because of the tape recorder; it was because she killed Hailey Hill, so what does it have to do with her?
Daniel Parker brewed two cups of coffee and a cup of black tea, bringing them over. When he placed the tea in front of Charlotte, she quietly asked, "Assistant Parker, could you please ask Rogers to wait a mont longer for ?"
Daniel nodded with a calm expression, then turned and left with the tray.
Charlotte sotis felt curious about why Atlas Hallow didn’t hire a female secretary.
A man like Daniel Parker serving tea and pouring water every day seed sowhat inappropriate, yet he appeared to do it well out of habit.
"I don’t know how to start regarding this matter..." Amir rubbed his hands together, truly at a loss for words.
It was all his mother’s doing, but what could he do? He was her son and couldn’t just ignore it.
"My mom is already over fifty, and if her life is only spent in prison, I hope she can live a little better. Back then, she ddled in your and my brother’s affairs, which was wrong of her, but could you please ask my brother for a favor?" Even Amir felt embarrassed as he spoke.
"A favor? She was sentenced to prison not because of the tape recorder, but because she killed soone." Charlotte was unclear about what Kinsley’s imprisonnt had to do with her.
Amir glanced at Atlas Hallow, speaking with so guilt, "Actually, when she was sentenced, I found so ways to make her life inside a bit better, but my brother only learned about the tape recorder recently. In his anger, he made my mom serve her sentence with everyone else. She can’t bear that kind of hardship..."
Charlotte finally understood the situation.
If it had been her from three years ago, or if she were soft-hearted, she might have stepped into this ss.
But now she felt her heart had beco as hard as stone, so hard it seed she wasn’t even a woman.
"Of course, you feel sorry for her, but she’s supposed to serve her sentence normally. Everyone is born equal; she’s no more noble than others, just wealthier. She killed soone; that’s a fact. No matter what mistakes Hailey Hill might have made, the law would judge them, and even if the law can’t, her fate would give her enough punishnt. That tape recorder made lose sothing you can never imagine, I’m not a kind-hearted, soft woman who repays grievances with virtue. I’m sorry, I can’t do that..." Charlotte said slowly, then took a sip of the black tea.
At Atlas Hallow’s place, the tea leaves surely wouldn’t be lacking. Yet, sipping this aromatic and llow black tea couldn’t ease the resentnt in her heart.
Eventually, the truth would reveal itself; Kinsley had simply chosen too cruel of a ti.
Whenever she thought of losing little Hallow, she felt she couldn’t forgive.
"Your mother is just serving her sentence, but I didn’t even get the chance to see my child. This is your Hallow family’s matter, and it has nothing to do with anymore..." Charlotte stood up, glanced at Atlas Hallow, then turned her head to speak softly to Amir, "If he wants to give Kinsley a break, I have no objections, but asking for leniency would only disappoint you. I have to leave now as I have other matters."
There was no need to continue this discussion. Charlotte stood up, stepping gracefully in her high heels, and elegantly left Atlas Hallow’s office, leaving behind a graceful silhouette.
Amir sat there, sowhat stunned.
This Charlotte Miller seed like a completely different person.
When she first entered the Hallow Family, she was truly a soft-hearted and kind girl, so transparent that one couldn’t bear to bully her. But how did it co to this now?
