The tweezers gently grasped the glass shards, dropping them into the iron tray. In the depth of night, even such a slight sound made Charlotte Miller’s heart tighten, it really hurt...

With a stern face, he looked at the two bodyguards, who promptly and truthfully recounted the incident that happened that day.
"Miss Miller went to a nightclub with her sister and her assistant to drink. Apparently, her sister was touched by soone, which angered Miss Miller. She argued with the guy, who then pushed her, causing her to fall. So glass shards got embedded in her back, so we brought her to the hospital first," the bodyguard said quietly. They too bore so responsibility for the incident. Had they insisted on following her into the nightclub or at least kept watch from afar, Miss Miller wouldn’t have been hurt.
But Miss Miller never allowed them to follow, putting them in a tough spot, especially now that this had happened.
As soon as Atlas heard about the glass shards in her back, his face turned a little pale.
The bodyguards, naturally, didn’t think this was a severe injury because they were used to living on the edge, thick-skinned and resilient. To them, so glass in the back seed like a minor wound because they were trained to be sowhat desensitized to pain.
But Charlotte was different, her skin soft and tender. Even pinching her a bit too hard would leave marks, how could she possibly endure a few pieces of glass?
Charlotte was unaware Atlas had arrived. She was still lying on that white examination bed, her face almost as pale as the sheets.
