When picking up the roll of gauze, Charlotte’s face seed to flush, unbelievably breathtaking.
Atlas Hallow narrowed his eyes, looking at her restrained and lip-biting expression, feeling both love and pity for her.
As his large hand passed across her chest, uncontrollably pausing there. Was this man trying to take advantage of her at this mont?
"Annoying..." Charlotte bit her lip, couldn’t help but utter a low complaint.
"Why am I annoying, and not you being too sensitive? Are you unable to handle this?" The man’s thin lips whispered by Charlotte’s ear, feeling her body’s slight tremor, yet his hands continued to act.
"If you want to go to such places in the future, I can accompany you." Having wrapped the gauze, Atlas sighed, then gently draped his suit over Charlotte.
Charlotte sat in Atlas Hallow’s car, her entire back still daring not to lean against the seat, urging Atlas to head to the police station to check the current situation.
"The lawyer has already gone, you don’t have to worry." Atlas comforted her, thinking that even if she had really smashed soone’s head with a bottle, or even stabbed soone, he would still handle the aftermath for her.
The man with his head injured was still clamoring in the police station, holding a towel to his forehead. The bleeding had stopped, suggesting the injury wasn’t too severe.
"Are you okay?" Luna Miller asked with a slightly annoyed tone upon seeing Charlotte in the diation room, but Charlotte knew she was concerned. From the fact that she was willing to co out to play with her and had even called Jack Smith, it was clear that Luna had let go of past grudges, albeit feeling slightly uneasy inside.
"All bandaged up, it’ll be fine in a few days." Charlotte whispered.
Hearing that everything was fine, Annie Gray’s heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally settled. At the nightclub, the lighting had been dim, making it difficult to see the extent of Charlotte’s injuries. But now, aside from a bit of paleness, her spirits seed okay.
"If you don’t provide compensation, I’ll have to sue. This smash has hurt my brain, and I might not be able to work anymore..." the injured man continued to shout.
"Then don’t accept the diation, let him sue, is that alright?" Atlas Hallow bent down, asking softly in Charlotte’s ear.
"Mm..." Indeed, there’s nothing to diate. She hadn’t even asked him for dical expenses, and yet he dared to make such a demand. It was too late, she was already exhausted.
The police observed that diation was indeed unlikely, as the injured man demanded a compensation of 150,000, which was impossible to agree upon.
After the lawyer confird there was no issue with the recorded statents, everyone dispersed and went their separate ways.
"Annie, have a good rest. I’ll et you at the certificate center the day after tomorrow." Charlotte pulled Annie aside. At this most important mont in life, soone has to bear witness, and she intended to be there for Annie on this perfect day.
After Annie received the certificate, Charlotte had already booked a place for lunch, ensuring they would properly celebrate.
Annie left the police station with a smile, not wanting anyone to accompany her, opting to walk alone for a while.
Charlotte watched Annie’s silhouette slowly disappear into the night before getting into Atlas Hallow’s car with Luna.
"Why is Jack Smith here too?" Atlas had seen Jack sitting in a corner, unable to hide his concerned look when Charlotte entered.
"I asked him to co. Jack Smith is my friend. Do you have any objections?" Luna answered before Charlotte could speak.
"Places like these are all the more fun with more young people around." After speaking, she added another remark, causing Atlas Hallow’s face to darken.
Was she implying that he was too old, too out of touch to enjoy such a place?
He dropped them off outside of Foster Alley, opening the car door and watching Charlotte and Luna get out, not forgetting to remind them, "I’ll co help you change the dressing tomorrow."
Charlotte turned to him and said, "No need, I’ll have Luna help . Just give the dicine."
It was as if Luna hadn’t heard what the two were saying and was already making her way to the courtyard where they lived.
"I’d better do it. I want to see Mia, see how she is." He hadn’t seen Mia in days, and he missed her dearly.
With this, Charlotte couldn’t say much more, as she had no intention of stopping Atlas from seeing Mia. After all, he was Mia’s biological father, and any misunderstandings or prior conflicts between them had nothing to do with the child.
Charlotte nodded, then tightened his suit around her and followed Luna into the blue-stone alley...
