"That’s great." Atlas Hallow laughed quietly and, after seeing Walyon Walker off, sat alone in the spacious presidential suite drinking coffee.

She probably isn’t asleep, so he’ll keep her company through the night, even if it’s from different locations.

In fact, he started diverting a lot of funds from the Hallow Clan for other projects years ago, not intending to swallow the clan’s money, but because so businesses were too shady to pass through the board, so he had to act covertly.

He had ntioned this to Amir Hallow at the ti, whose cousin always said the sa thing: "Do as you decide, I have no objections."

But at that ti he requested confidentiality, so Flix Hallow probably didn’t know, and this also explains why Amir so straightforwardly handed the shares to his father.

Actually, Amir Hallow is smarter than anyone, and he probably knew very early on that his father had an illegitimate child outside the family.

Although the Hallow Clan was drained of much, the frawork, though sowhat hollowed, remains a colossal business machine, providing a livelihood for many. After all, the clan’s foundation is too solid.

Logically speaking, news of him leaving the Hallow Clan should have affected the stock price, yet the stock price not only didn’t fall but continued to rise, albeit not by much, which was peculiar.

To manipulate the stock price of a clan with such a large market value demands an imnse cash flow, which Flix Hallow didn’t possess, so Atlas knew he must have attracted hot money into the clan.

There are too many examples of inviting wolves into the house. Flix Hallow thought he easily drove him out of the clan, thinking it would be just as easy to kick others out later. It was stupid of him and a disgrace to the Hallow na.

If he truly brings in those bone-eating wolves, it would be courting death.

Actually, when Gael Hallow suddenly ca up with the money to buy the four percent from Charlotte Miller, he already knew things were not simple.

Even without that eight percent, Flix Hallow would vie with him for the clan, even having the money ready.

Atlas Hallow gazed at the glorious neon lights outside, his eyes full of ford ice. In his safe lay quietly a birth certificate of Gael Hallow’s son.

That little boy was indeed born a month later than his Mia, but the size difference between boys and girls was natural, and also Mia’s weaker constitution made her appear more petite.

But now he doesn’t want to use that eight percent to reclaim the Hallow Clan, because what he wants isn’t the clan; what he wants is Flix Hallow’s life.

A life for a life, his parents were two lives, so only taking Flix’s life would be a bargain.

The underworld money laundries in Las Vegas, nothing to think about there; too much untraceable money circulates throughout the U.S.A through those channels. Cleaning it through the Hallow Clan makes sense.

But those people at the money laundries are not easy to fool; none of them are!

He needs to take a trip; to kill Flix Hallow, he must first cut off the hot money flooding into the clan.

Without that hot money, the massive empty shell of the clan will begin to collapse. Flix Hallow isn’t soone who can turn the tide. In the end, forcing himself to jump from the top of a skyscraper seems like a good option.

It was already past midnight, and he texted Charlotte Miller, not daring to call for fear of waking her if she fell asleep, but he thought she probably hadn’t slept yet.

Charlotte Miller had exerted herself moving the couch to Annie Gray’s hospital bed, then sat on the couch hugging her legs. The ward was equipped with clean, thin blankets, yet there was still a chill in the air on such a night. Wrapped in the blanket, she and Annie shared conversations about their sowhat similar yet entirely different pasts.

Her phone chirped with a text ssage alert. She stretched her hand from beneath the blanket and reached for her phone to check it.

It was a ssage from Atlas Hallow.

"Are you asleep?"

"No."

"Is Annie awake?"

"Mm."

"Don’t stay up too late talking."

"I know."

"I... miss you..."

Charlotte Miller didn’t reply to the last ssage, instead, a soft smile naturally appeared at the corner of her mouth, as if a spring breeze had swept across, warm and bright, making even her slightly tired eyes glisten with moving shimr.

"Charlotte, you truly are blessed, even if there was pain in the past." If enduring darkness and pain alone can lead to serene tis at the end, then it’s all worth it.
