The seemingly calm life is never actually calm, just like the surging waves beneath the sea.
When Evelyn’s pregnancy was still unknown to Joshua Hughes, the extended relatives of the Hughes Family had already learned of it.
"Grace, I heard that Joshua has a child now. This girl who was selected this year is pregnant, and there’s a eting today where all the relatives with shares from the Hughes extended family will attend. They say it’s to set the wedding date."
Conny Hughes walked down the stairs. He had just received several phone calls. Although this news was only announced at the Yates Family this morning, it spread frighteningly fast, and soon his phone was flooded with calls.
"I’m not sure if it’s true. Joshua never ntioned anything." Grace Roe fell into a trance, lost in thought.
"Does Joshua ever tell you anything? He’s beco extrely arrogant these days, not considering at all in the board etings. Well, I know he hates , but why does Luis get the sa treatnt? They are both descendants of the Hughes Family. You should know, if it weren’t for my father’s favoritism in insisting on giving the position to Joshua, it’s uncertain which brother would be sitting in that position now."
Conny Hughes’s tone was sullen; he had been feeling frustrated for these years.
"Don’t say that, Conny. I believe Joshua wouldn’t do that."
The thing Grace Roe feared most had happened. Recently, from the actions of their father and son, as well as so phone calls, she could vaguely sense they were up to sothing. She feared they would harm her eldest son.
In fact, she loved both sons the sa, but she always felt she owed Joshua Hughes, having shortchanged him from childhood to adulthood.
"If he has a child, he must get married; otherwise, he would be an irresponsible man, which would bring a negative impact on the entire Hughes Clan. If he wants to play, Luis could preside over the Hughes Family on his behalf."
Conny Hughes left this remark coldly and turned to go upstairs. Grace Roe watched his departing figure, tears welling up in her eyes.

In Hughes Clan Tower, Joshua Hughes was looking over all the docunts.

"What’s wrong?" Joshua Hughes’s voice was deep and powerful. Did sothing happen to her? Today she’s acting very unusually.
"Evelyn’s dad said he couldn’t reach you all morning, and you haven’t gone to work yet. He’s anxious to find you and asked to help look for you."
Avery Jane’s tone was still the sa. Could that old fox have done sothing again to force her?

Mr. Hughes, you probably need to get married soon, so can I leave first? I’d be grateful if you could help out the lab, but if not, I’ll have them move out quickly. What do you think?"
