Without even drinking a sip of water, he stord out like a tempest, heading straight for the hospital.
The hospital was as busy as ever, the air thick with the sll of disinfectant.
As the busiest attending physician was called into the dean’s office, she hurried along, wondering if sothing had happened, or if so prominent figure had co to stir even the rarely-seen dean.
Pushing open the office door, she saw the dean cautiously laughing in front of a man in a black suit sitting on the sofa.
From her professional perspective, the man’s bone structure was excellent, with perfect proportions.
"Just in ti, Dr. Diaz is the best doctor we have here, and Miss Jane is under her care."
The dean visibly relaxed upon seeing the doctor co in.
"What illness does she have?"
The man on the sofa showed fatigue in his eyes, yet not a hint of sharpness was diminished.
"Avery Jane? She had a fever near forty degrees, frostbite on her fingers, mild anemia, excessive fatigue, and slight tearing in her lower body with an accumulation of sen in her uterus. She had subcutaneous implants for contraception, and although the side effects are minimal, her constitution is sensitive, so I’ve already removed it. With proper care, she should recover."
The doctor professionally detailed Avery Jane’s condition, as if rely discussing the pleasant weather.
She didn’t notice the man on the sofa’s anger already on the brink of eruption.

Joshua stood rooted, handso face pale, devoid of color.

His voice ca from his suppressed chest, hoarse and gloomy, laced with a terrifying threat, before striding out of the ward.
He didn’t take the elevator but used the stairs—few people opted for the stairs now.

She had ticulously planned her escape.
Joshua descended step by step, imagining the scene in the dark, frigid night, holding each other close, leaving quietly without alerting anyone.
The thought brought nearly unbearable pain, sapping even the strength to descend.
