’"Don’t kill !..." Sage’s eyes snapped open he shot upright. His chest heaved, drenched in cold sweats. For second he couldn’t breath. His trembling hand touched bis forehead,no wound,no blood.
He blinked hard, frantically scanning around.
Dark walls. Damp air. Silence.
A narrow alleys stretched into the darkness. There was no else around.
"Whew!" He wiped the sweat from his forehead and laughed weakly, "I thought I was completely dead; what a relief!"
His eyes flashed with joy. He didn’t expect the experience of death to be so uncomfortable, but luckily he wasn’t dead; that was a good thing for him.
"Hmmm... strange!" He suddenly felt sothing was wrong with the current situation.
This ti, he took his ti looking around. The alley was unfamiliar, narrower, older and slled faintly with wet stone.
"Wait a minute, this is not the alley I’m familiar with...".
He also felt that his body was quite weird as well. He patted himself and then looked at his hands.
His eyes imdiately went wide with shock; he quickly looked at himself, and his mind went blank.
"W...what... what is going on?" His eyes were full of bewildernt and confusion. "This is not my body, and there is no way my hands are that hard and full of callouses."
Before he could even process what was really going on, his vision suddenly beca blurry as an unbearable headache attacked him.
He steadied himself while holding his head, his eyes tightly shut as he sweated even more.
"W-what’s with all these foreign mories? Ahhh, it’s too much!" Sage was really having a hard ti; he felt as if his head was about to explode.
He fell back on the ground while clutching his head, his face contorted in agony as he started trembling.
About half an hour later, he stopped trembling and lay there on the ground like a dead body.
A mont later, he stirred and slowly sat back up again, rubbing his throbbing temples while also shaking his head.
"Damn, that was truly painful!" He groaned, but at the sa ti, a bitter smile appeared on his lips.
"What a plot twist! I didn’t expect this kind of thing to happen to . Really strange." He rubbed his chin, looked down at his body, and couldn’t help but shake his head.
He looked up at the sky and then smiled. "Well, I will take care of this body."
With that, he stood up with great difficulty, his body arching with great pains. He patted his butt and slowly made his way out of the alley.
As he neared the exit of the alley, he could faintly hear noises, which made him quicken his steps.
A mont later, his vision cleared up as he erged onto a broad street. A loud cacophony of noise imdiately hit him, and the glaring light of the sun also made him squint his eyes a little.
After getting used to the glaring light, he fully opened his eyes, and the scene that greeted him was quite spectacular and grand.
In front of him was a wide street as big as a four-lane asphalt road, but this wasn’t asphalt; it was a dieval, old cobblestone road.
People in garnts, robes, and armor were carrying weapons while carriages were being pulled by huge horses and strange creatures.
On both sides of the road were stalls, stores, and tall brick buildings; so were old and ugly, while others were tall and beautifully built.
The entire street was full of noise.
"Wow!" Sage’s eyes were wide open as he stood there glued to the scenery in front of him.
"This... looks like my transmigration is real! Finally, one of my lifelong wishes has finally co true!" Sage was shocked but excited at the sa ti.
He raised both hands to the sky, grinning like a fool.
"Thank you, mysterious stranger! I still hate you for killing before I even tasted true love, it’s okay! You did the job. And Truck-kun sorry man, you got replaced!"
He laughed out loud, earning a few weird stares.
Sowhere above, the blazing sun seed to flicker.
"Huh... that’s strange, did the sun just blink?" Sage was taken aback for a mont; he stared hard, blinking several tis, "Nah... what a ridiculous thought!" He smacked his cheeks lightly," I’m already losing it".
He stepped completely out of the alley and walked along the road, admiring the scene as he walked.
He was totally fascinated by all the things he was seeing; he kept turning around, looking here and there like a country bumpkin.
"Hey, watch where you are stepping!"
A loud voice rumbled near his ears, which made the inside of his ears ring.
"Sorry... sorry..." Sage quickly turned around to apologize, but his words were caught in his throat.
Standing in front of him was a seven-foot monstrosity with bulging muscles, wearing a beast skin wrapped around his waist and holding a tal club as thick as his thigh, with tusks protruding from his mouth.
"O... or... orc!" Sage stamred with wide eyes; he took a few steps back in fear and put on a ridiculous battle stance.
The orc scratched its head and looked down at the tiny and scrawny human in front of it in confusion.
"Watch where you are going next ti!" the orc’s loud voice rumbled again as he strode away.
"Huh! That’s it" Sage was stunned, still in his so-called battle stance, with confusion in his eyes.
"That’s odd; aren’t orcs hot-tempered and easy to provoke? Why is this one calm and sounding kind of nice?" He looked around and found that nobody was paying him any attention at all.
He scratched his head and continued walking forward. With his hand on his chin, he fell into deep thoughts.
"At least this proves that I have really transmigrated into a new world. That’s quite good news, and the old news is..."
He looked at the body he was currently in and shook his head. "...Is that I’m the body of a thief." He smiled bitterly. This was just the lowest starting point of transmigration.
"Fortunately, this guy has the sa na as , one of the standard packages of any transmigrator: having the sa na as your predecessor," Sage thought with a smile.
"But to be honest, this guy is really sothing else; daring to steal from a noble, no wonder why he got beaten to death!" Sage’s smiling face turned bitter when he thought of this.
