Chapter 12
"Arghh!" Alex groaned in pain while clutching his injured arm. The pain was truly unbearable; it felt like his bone had just broken, but he forced himself to focus back on the fight. After all, it wasn’t over yet.
The burly man swung the crowbar again, this ti aiming for his head. Alex narrowly dodged it and drove his good arm with all the strength he could muster into the man’s stomach. The man imdiately folded and dropped the crowbar as he violently retched up what he had eaten earlier today.
The manager’s face imdiately turned pale, he stepped back stamring in disbelief.
"H-how? No! T-this is not possible... My n have always gotten the job done, so how could a pretty boy like you manage to beat them all?"
Alex almost laughed. pretty boy, really? Well... he did look handso but saying pretty boy, made him feel like so kind of gigolo. He turned back toward the manager, who was still standing there in disbelief, refusing to believe what had just happened, and said calmly.
"You know, you should really learn to stop judging people by their faces. I guess you thought I’d be easy, huh? That’s why you tried to cheat out of my winnings."
"No-no it is not like that. We only wanted to talk with you that’s all. It was going to be friendly... Before we give you your money."
The manager said hurriedly while waving his hands in the air. His eyes kept flicking toward the n on the ground as if hoping that at least one of them would suddenly stand up and save him but alas nothing happened.
Alex stared at him quietly then flashed an ominous smile that made the manager’s spine tingle. He bent down slowly and picked up the crowbar with his good hand, then he tested the weight of the crowbar lightly.
The manager’s pupils shrank and he asked with a cracking voice.
"W-what are you doing?"
Alex glanced at him and said nonchalantly while walking towards the clearly frightened man who looked like he was about to shit his pants.
"Relax, didn’t you say this was supposed to be a friendly talk. Well then how about we talk out here. ’friendly’."
The manager swallowed hard and took two steps backward.
"Y-yes, you know I think this has all been a misunderstanding, the casino was just being cautious after all you won a large amount of money. We just wanted to verify everything thoroughly."
"By dragging into a van to a place that I’m sure is going to be secluded. Do you take for a fool?"
"No-no, that was simply... All for formality sake."
Alex chuckled softly. Did this man really take him as so kind of fool. Sure he might look like a naive college kid, but that doesn’t an he hadn’t seen enough of the world in his past life.
He dropped the crowbar to the ground and leaned slightly on it.
"Listen carefully I don’t care about all that crap you just said. I ca here to gamble, ok and I won fair and square. So if you had just paid my money, I’m sure that none of this would have happened."
The manager’s lips trembled, but he forced himself to speak.
"Of course of course. And you will receive every cent of your money. I promise."
Alex tilted his head slightly as if considering sothing.
"You know what? I don’t think every cent is enough anymore. I want double of what I earned as a form of compensation. Yeah I think that should be okay, don’t you think?"
The manager’s knees almost buckled and he yelled out.
"Double?! That’s impossible!"
Alex lightly lifted the crowbar off the floor. The manager face twitched but he managed to say through gritted teeth.
"Fine, I will make sure you receive double of what you were supposed to earn."
Alex nodded his head to show he was okay with that. Suddenly the chibi who had been watching this whole while interjected.
[I kinda feel sorry for the poor manager. He doesn’t even know that you’re pretending to be so kind of macho man]
Alex eyelids twitched slightly. He kept his face calm but inside he was grinding his teeth.
"Can you not say that outside. And besides you didn’t even ask , how was your arm? is it okay? You know stuffs that show that you at least care." He muttered under his breath
The manager blinked
"What? Did you say sothing?"
Alex cleared his throat imdiately. As he was about to respond, he suddenly felt a sharp stabbing pain by his side.
"Ahh!"
Alex yelled in pain. His legs weakened as blood quickly soaked through his shirt, dying it red. One of the burly man who he thought had been out cold had stabbed him in the side.
The manager’s face quickly changed from the fearful and submissive expression to a smug and confident expression.
"You got what you deserve you bastard. Did you really think I was going to give you double of what you won. Hell no, I was just stalling you so that one of my n could deliver the finishing blow to you, while you left your guard down. Hahaha."
The manager shifted his gaze back to the man and made a throat cutting gesture, then turned and quickly walked away.
The man nodded then pulled out the knife, attempting to slice Alex throat this ti. But Alex gritted his teeth and forced his body to quickly grab the man’s hand and smashed his head into the man’s face. Then Alex stomped the man’s knee with all his strength, causing a sickening snap to ring out, as the man’s knee bent the other way. A loud pig like scream echoed through the air.
Not yet finished, Alex grabbed his wrist and quickly broke it. The man finally lost consciousness from the extre pain and collapsed to the ground.
Ignoring whether the man was dead or alive, Alex tried to chase after the manager but his legs suddenly weakened, making him drop to his knees. The world began to look increasingly blurry due to how much blood he was losing at the mont.
The tiny chibi’s face imdiately turned pale and she quickly rushed over to his injured side with concern.
[Doofus why did you let your guard down, now you are seriously injured. At this rate if you don’t treat it in ti you are going to pass out from shock]
[To treat this I suggest you apply pressure to the wound. It should be able to slow down the bleeding]
Agreeing with the tiny imp. Alex forced himself to stand up. Though after many failed attempts, he was finally able to succeed. Then he tore his shirt to use as a makeshift bandage, and used the piece to wrap around the wound.
"Hsss...." He winced in pain.
Clap! Clap! Clap!
All of a sudden, before he could barely finish tying the makeshift bandage, a slow deliberate clap rang out, as a calm, smooth woman’s voice suddenly ca from behind him.
