"Dammit"
Alex cursed under his breath while looking out of the car window. The scenery outside looked especially beautiful this ti of the evening... But Alex couldn’t care less about the view. Instead, he was busy trying to figure out how he was supposed to complete the ridiculous mission given to him by that accursed little midget.

Alex subtly shifted his eyes and glanced at Nyx, who was completely engrossed in her phone. From the way her fingers moved across the screen, It looked like she was chatting with soone. Which he was fairly certain that it had sothing to do with work.
Just as she began to lift her head up, Alex quickly looked away, pretending to admire the passing scenery.
How the hell was he supposed to do this? He had already tried activating the aura of seduction, but the goddamn thing was taking forever to work. If he didn’t find a way to seduce and f*ck Nyx soon, then he could prepare to kiss the earth goodbye and get transported to so place called Hell Realm— a place he had absolutely no intention of ever visiting.
Like seriously who hears the word Hell Realm and thinks, yeah, that sounds like a nice place to go? Even thinking about it gave him the creeps. Alex squeezed his eyes shut and checked where the desire ter had reached.

Alex stared at the floating panel with a look of utter disbelief and scread internally.
What the hell! It’s been close to forty f*cking minutes since I activated the aura of seduction, and all it has managed to reach is a pitiful seven point ninety-one percent! You know what? I bla myself for not snapping that annoying midget’s neck when I had the chance.."
The thought lingered in his mind for a mont before he sighed and leaned his head against the seat. He knew complaining won’t help, what he really needed right now was a plan. Unfortunately, every idea that ca to his mind seed really stupid.
First, he considered flirting with her. But then rembered that he didn’t know how to flirt with a girl, even him being married to Emily in his past life was a miracle on its own.
Then he considered complinting her, but ruled it out. Soone like Nyx might kill him for even daring to complint her due to her suspicious nature... So what the hell could he do then?
Alex glanced sideways again and watched as Nyx remained focused on her screen with a calm and unreadable expression on her face. The faint glow from the screen illuminated her face, causing her to look almost unreal.
Watching her relaxed posture made Alex feel like a student who was trying to cheat during an exam while the teacher was staring straight at him.
Maybe he should just start a conversation naturally. The thought flashed through his head. ’Yeah. That sounds reasonable. People talk all the ti right? I’m pretty sure there’s nothing suspicious about that.’
But there was one quick problem with that...
’What the hell do I even say?’
Alex’s mind ran through several possible ways to start a conversation.
’Nice weather... No, that sounds stupid. What about, how was your day, huh? No, that was even worse.’
He groaned ntally.
’Argh.. Why was talking to one woman suddenly harder than beating the so-called gambling god or whatever?’
As if sensing his restless thoughts, Nyx suddenly stopped typing and lifted her head.
"Why have you been sneaking glances at for the past thirty seconds?" She questioned him with a raised eyebrow.
Alex froze in shock and cursed his luck. Then quickly gained his composure and ca up with an excuse.
"Uhmm... It’s nothing, I was just wondering where we’re even going? Cause it’s been a while since we’ve been on the road."
"Oh, we should be arriving there any mont from now. So calm yourself down and relax." She replied calmly and turned her gaze back to her phone.
Alex slowly nodded his head and tried to relax against the seat but the desire ter at the corner of his mind seed to mock him.
...Fifteen minutes later, the car gradually began to slow down. Nyx glanced out of the window briefly, before speaking.
"Good, we’re here."
Alex forced himself to smile, but it looked worse than crying. It was a good thing that the car interior was fairly dark, so Nyx did not manage to see his expression.
Soon the car ca to a halt in front of the imperial pavilion, one of the most popular and elite bars in the city, rumored to have a powerful and mysterious background.
As they stepped out, two fierce looking guards rushed toward Nyx, with heads bowed so low that their forehead nearly hit their knees and barked in unison.
"Welco, Boss."
Alex blinked and dropped his jaw in surprise. Since when did she command respect from mbers of one of the most powerful bar in the city.
Nyx glanced at him and flashed a smirk. "Surprised?"
"Of course I am. I Know you’re the underworld queen and all but this bar is very mysterious that even the other two syndicates don’t dare ss with it... Now I find them bowing to you like you own the place." Then his eyes shot up in realization.
"Wait! Don’t tell you are really the owner of this place?"
Nyx shrugged nonchalantly.
"Yes I am. Honestly it was just sothing I built on a whim. Though I prefer to keep the news of being the owner a secret."
"So you’re telling your secrets now?" Alex leaned in, as a spark of his usual bravado returned. "Is this a way to tell that you have a crush on ?"
Nyx’s expression didn’t change but the air around her suddenly turned ten degrees colder.
"Keep talking and I’ll make sure that you can never end up with any woman in your entire life again."
"... What a petty woman and I was just joking with her." Alex grumbled under his breath with a wronged expression.
"Did you just say sothing?"
Alex imdiately shook his head and denied saying anything, lest the wicked woman kills him. As they stepped inside, the bar looked lively with bright neon light reflecting across the floor as young people with net worths, enough to buy an island, danced crazily to the mixtapes played by a female DJ.
The manager imdiately inford of their arrival hurried over with a respectful face and bowed slightly.
"Boss! Welco back. Your private vip room is ready. I’ll take you there right away."
"Alright, lead the way."
The manager nodded and led them through a discreet corridor to a private area deep inside. The room looked luxurious, with a wide plush-looking leather couch at the center, facing a polished glass table that looked like it was made out of diamonds. And at the side of the room, a private mini bar counter stood against the wall, stocked with various expensive bottles of wine, ranging from 1957 Lafite Rothschild to Château Margaux.
As soon as they took their seat, a staff mber arrived and placed two empty glasses on the table.
"So what would you like to take? Think of this as a mini celebration for your victory, today." Nyx asked while crossing one leg over the other.
"Hmmm.... You know what? Surprise ." Alex replied, trying to sound smooth.
She nodded her head and gestured at the staff to bring a bottle of Romanée-Conti. After he brought it she dismissed the staff, and poured the rich red liquid into both glasses, and slid one toward him.
"Try not to get drunk. I’m not going to carry you ho."
Alex picked up the glass, took a sip, then raised his eyebrow in surprise before taking another one. He was expecting the wine to be strong, but instead it tasted surprisingly sweet.
"Wow, it’s really nice. I didn’t expect it to taste this good. Now I know the difference between expensive wines and cheap ones."
"Hmmm, it seems like it’s your first ti tasting Romanée-Conti. Did you expect it to taste like all those crappy cheap wines available in the market?"
"Yeah I guess I should probably rember that not all of us are a certain underworld queenpin, who can afford a bottle of expensive red wine every day." He said with a bit of sarcasm.
But Nyx didn’t seem bothered by his tone, instead she lifted her glass and lazily swirled the deep red liquid, giving her that air of elegance and superiority.
As Alex concentrated on his drink while observing Nyx from the side. A familiar voice imdiately spoke into his head.
[Hey! So how’s the mission I just wanted to check up on you... I know it wasn’t necessary since you’ve technically got this in the bag. But I just figured I’ll co watch]
Alex’s expression changed imdiately. Got this in the bag?! What the hell was this system talking about? Didn’t she see him struggle or was this tiny fool sleeping all this while.
