Now reading: Chapter 14: Pavilion Inside of an Alley?! from Building the Strongest Pavilion in Another World, a Fantasy novel by Patience021.

"Although you explained that much, you still haven’t explained how you gained an entire small realm within a single week." Shen’s face turned serious. He feared that his little sister might have practiced so unorthodox thod to gain power so quickly, and that thought deeply terrified him.

Any secretly leaned toward Shen’s ear with an extrely serious expression.

Shen trembled slightly in surprise. ’It looks like this secret might truly be sothing important. Maybe I really am overthinking things and she didn’t practice such thods?’ Thinking about his little sister’s playful nature around him and how serious she was acting right now, that possibility grew even stronger in his mind.

"Elder brother! The secret behind my breakthrough... is actually because of... a cultivation room!"

"So it’s because of a cultivation— Eh?! Huh? A cultivation room?!"

Shen’s face froze before instantly turning bright red with anger. ’This brat, how dare she make fun of her elder brother!’

Unwilling to hurt her in any way, he could only bring out his secret weapon.

"I won’t force you to reveal what thod you used to advance an entire small realm in such a short ti. However, father and your master would surely be interested."

Any’s face darkened after hearing those words.

Besides her brother, the two people she cared about most were her father and her master. To make matters worse, she understood exactly why Shen was acting this way. He clearly believed she had practiced so evil technique.

No matter how kind a person was, power could corrupt them, and even geniuses were no exception. Previous examples had already proven this countless tis. If Any had rely improved her spell proficiency, her brother would probably just call her crazy and lock her inside the manor.

However, breaking through an entire small realm was completely different.

If Shen truly went to tell her father and master that she had practiced sothing sinister, the consequences would be unimaginable. Not because they would harm her, but because even seeing the look on her father’s face before the misunderstanding was cleared up was sothing she absolutely did not want to experience.

"Lying to your elder brother and practicing evil arts... truly, you’ve beco soone I can barely recognize anymore," Shen muttered as he stood up to leave the room.

Any felt as though an invisible arrow had pierced her heart upon hearing those words. Hastily, she grabbed her brother’s legs and looked at him with watery eyes.

"Sheno, I’ll explain everything, I swear."

Hearing his little sister call him that while staring at him with large puppy-like eyes, Shen’s heart imdiately softened. His tone beca far gentler as he replied.

"Explain everything and don’t leave out a single detail."

Delighted, Any nodded repeatedly before explaining how she had been fleeing from Luke’s subordinates when she stumbled upon that small store—or pavilion, to be more accurate. She then recounted her encounter with the young man and everything that happened afterward.

Shen’s expression constantly shifted between surprise, fear, and deep suspicion.

"So you’re telling that you spent a spirit stone and so gold coins just to cultivate for one hour in a cultivation room that anyone can enter with a re gold coin?!"

Shen glared at his younger sister, who still wore a triumphant expression on her face. At that mont, he suddenly had the urge to twist the ear of this little wastrel.

"Elder brother! If you don’t believe , then I’ll take you to that little stor— pavilion tomorrow. You’ll definitely be shocked. That place was practically a cultivation heaven! Can you imagine obtaining enlightennt for rely one spirit stone? Even my master would kill for such an opportunity, much less people like us."

Any’s eyes filled with fascination every ti she recalled that experience and the enormous gains she had obtained from it. Her desire to return tomorrow burned so strongly that she doubted she would even be able to sleep peacefully tonight.

However, Shen remained deeply unconvinced after hearing everything.

’If such a cultivation room truly existed, it would belong to the holy guilds of the human race—or perhaps the demon and alien races. How could sothing like that possibly appear in the outer city?’

Yet looking at his excited little sister, he eventually relented.

"Hmph! We shall see tomorrow. But if what you said turns out to be false, or if that person gave you sothing forbidden, then don’t bla your elder brother for the consequences..."

Snorting coldly, Shen hurriedly left the room.

He knew that if he stayed any longer, his little sister might actually convince him to abandon the idea of reporting the matter to their father and master if she turned out to be lying.

anwhile, as the night deepened and most people drifted into their seventh dream, a young man with dark hair and a black cape stared toward the city gate with a serious expression.

’As expected, the most important areas of a city are always the best places to uncover hidden rats.’

The young man was delighted by his own clever thinking as he quickly approached the wall beside the third alley to the right of the city gate, his heartbeat growing faster and faster.

This young man was naturally Darius, and this entire operation existed for one purpose alone: obtaining a quest for his pavilion.

After enduring the system’s endless nagging throughout the previous night, he had no choice but to promise that he would wake up before dawn and personally search for missions.

Originally, he had believed he had outsmarted the system. His plan was to wake up late and simply bla it on oversleeping, delaying the process of finding quests while hoping that custors would conveniently bring missions to him instead.

Unfortunately, the system had been fully prepared.

The mont dawn arrived, a terrifying alarm exploded inside his mind, nearly causing his eyes to bulge out of their sockets.

Shaking away that horrifying mory, Darius glanced once more at the target he had designated as his pavilion’s very first mission.

[Demon Tiger: Feasts upon humans, engages in human trafficking, and forces innocents to consu human elixirs while abandoning their humanity to serve the demon race. A demon disguised as a human!]

[Reward upon death: Three years of accumulated power.]

’A demon pretending to be human... truly disgusting tactics.’ A cold glint flashed across Darius’s eyes as he quickly withdrew from the narrow alley and returned toward his pavilion.
