Soon, a middle-aged man with a long white beard reaching his belly button ca out. Noticing the spirit stones on top of the table, his eyes showed a fearful expression before he quickly approached the young man and slightly bowed.
"Young master, with all due respect, but anything above gold cannot be paid inside of an inn. Do you possibly have any other form of paynt?" The middle-aged man was polite, and although he was nervous inwardly, he still kept a smile on his face, albeit barely.
’Shit, what kind of thing is this?’ Darius cursed the lacking mories of this body a thousand tis in his head.
From his predecessors’ mories, he knew that spirit stones were a currency above gold, but he never knew that taking them out would warrant such a reaction.
He could tell from their reactions that spirit stones were sothing valuable.
Knowing he did sothing he shouldn’t have, he quickly waved his hands before he placed the spirit stones back in his pockets.
"I don’t have cash on right now, and my bank card is lost. May I pay later?"
Silence...
The atmosphere was so awkward that Darius wished nothing but to dig a hole and bury himself inside right now. Despite his bad situation, he never asked for free als in his past life, yet the first al in this life happened to be one!
He had money, mind you. Just not the kind easily accepted.
He suddenly felt regretful that he had handed all the gold to that rchant.
"Of course, young master, it’s just a night’s ti and a breakfast with a casual bath, the total doesn’t even reach thirty silver. You can co another ti to pay for it," The middle-aged man swiftly spoke in fear of things going south.
He had his fair share of awakeners playing such stupid cards, forcing them to show a bit of malicious intent or displeasure to flatten the entire place, or worse...he looked at the maiden covering her face with a veil and couldn’t help but pity her.
’Beauty is indeed a curse in most cases.’
Darius didn’t wait any further, gave a simple thanks, and walked out of the inn. By the ti all of this was done, the sun had already risen and hung high in the sky, casting golden, warm rays onto the city.
Several sounds of bickering, chattering, and horses filled the air as Darius took a mont to enjoy all of that before he headed towards his destination.
’That place should be suitable for the pavilion. As if it’s owned, well, the system would notify if that was the case!’
With determination to lay his hands on a building and start his journey, Darius quickly blended into the crowd before he soon reached the building as his target.

"Finally, I found a building suitable for the system," Darius deeply exhaled as he felt a feeling of accomplishnt from the amount of work he did to acquire this. Looking at the two-story building in front of him at the outskirts of the outer city, he couldn’t help but bitterly smile.
Three days had passed since Darius had been looking for a building. The first building he found turned out to be private property, although it was for sale, the amount was by no ans sothing he could ever afford in his lifeti.
The owner was asking for a hundred power stones, claiming that the outer city’s area close to the inner city gate is rather popular. Darius almost spat a mouthful of blood after hearing the price and kindly left.
These conversations with owners continued for three days till he finally had enough and decided to look for sothing at the outskirts of the outer city. Although the cri here was at an all-ti high, Darius had no choice but to grit his teeth and do it.
"System, although this place is semi-abandoned and I bought it with three power stones, there is no way I can protect it."

Sigh...
Darius felt a headache as he noticed how the system cleverly dodged his question by going straight to the point. Helpless, he could only go on with it, leaving such worries of protection for the future.

Darius was t with a Yes and No button in a blue panel. Without hesitation, he chose yes.

For a mont, nothing happened.
Then the ground beneath Darius’ feet gave a faint tremble.
Right after, a low rumble spread through the abandoned building as dust drifted down from the cracked ceiling. The broken beams creaked, as though a kind of worm was drifting through them.
Darius took a step back, seeing this scene, his body uncontrollably shivering.
He didn’t know whether it was his excitent or fear due to the system’s amazing prowess, but he was grinning from ear to ear watching this scene regardless.
Before his eyes, the collapsed wood slowly began to move. Splintered planks slid back into place, the jagged edges fitting together as though guided by invisible hands.
Dust rose into the air, swirling softly around the structure.
The crooked walls straightened little by little. Cracks along the stone sealed themselves, and the rotting wood regained its dark, polished color.
Within monts, the building that resembled a ruin a while ago that had stood there for years was gone.
In its place stood a quiet two-story pavilion, its wooden pillars straight and sturdy, its walls clean and unbroken. Above the entrance hung a freshly carved plaque, still blank, clearly ant for Darius to na it.
Darius stared at everything in silence, his heart throbbing with a surge of joy.
Just minutes ago, this place had been nothing more than a destroyed building, only to change this much in such a short amount of ti.
He suddenly didn’t feel so worried about the protection chanism.
