The black cat could see two hovering Chaos Singularities inside the fused wraith. But it wasn’t even a Rank-2 being. It was weaker than the Ascendant. Much weaker.
The spiky wolf growled at Mater. The flying knives in the air rushed at the black cat.
Mater waved the Fire Wand. More gold feathers appeared in the air and blocked the flying blades.
Then the black cat aid the wand at the spiky wolf. More gold feathers materialized and shot at the wolf.
The wolf dashed away. Crow appeared right next to it and bashed its head with a large war hamr. His weapons contained Nether so Crow deliberately used a blunted weapon to avoid reinforcing it.
The wolf was forced back to its previous location. The storm of gold feathers pierced through it, drilling countless holes on its body.
The knife on its head grew larger. It swung its head, sending the blade in a wide vertical strike. Most of the gold feathers were deflected away.
Crow jumped over the strike.
"Holy Fire!" The black cat growled.
A beam of orange fire shot at the wolf. Its feet slid on the ground for several ters before stopping. It took the entirety of the beam. Orange fire burned fiercely on its body.
Ordos and Naros rushed at it.
Naros reached its hand out to catch it.
The wolf responded with a slice at Naros’s hand then backed away.
"You have fallen into my Trap!" Sparrow grinned widely.
The ground where the wolf landed liquified. The soft mud reached up and pulled the wolf downward. With a single thought, Sparrow hardened the Trap Hole and restrained the wolf inside.
The wolf was strong. It resisted fiercely. The hardened mud cracked.
"Oh no, you don’t!" Sparrow raised his lute and played a different song. The energy of Gaia enveloped the hardened mud and prevented it from being destroyed.
The wolf growled loudly but was unable to break free.
"Well done, Sparrow." The black cat owed.
It floated to the wolf and aid the Fire Wand at the wolf’s head point blank.
The beam of Holy Fire shot out and disintegrated the wolf’s head.
"That was easy." Crow said.
The wolf exploded into a cloud of darkness. The cloud was not restrained by the Trap and moved away. It reanimated into the spiky wolf a few ters away.
"I spoke too soon." Crow said.
The storm of gold feathers rushed at the wolf again. It used the flying knives to block so of the feathers but was unable to cover itself entirely.
The wolf was barely surviving Mater’s attack.
If it was Mater in Rank-1. The wolf may have caused him so inconveniences. But he was a Rank-2 being now. He also had a very rare Demonic Item that could use the power of Fate. The wolf had no chances.
It teleported itself a few tis and was able to regenerate the damage it received. But each ti it did that, its Chaos ran out more and more.
It was purely a waiting ga.
The spiky wolf was only able to endure for a few more minutes before its Chaos Well ran dry.
"Co to daddy!"
The black cat opened its mouth and drained all the power within the spiky wolf. He got two Chaos Singularities and 26 Chaos Spheres from the fused wraith.
"Finally, so extra Chaos." The black cat licked its lips and patted its belly.
Mater used up all his reserved Chaos Spheres in the fight with the Ascendant. He was a poor cat for a little while.
For the Lock of Biochanism, each key required three Chaos Singularities to create. He had three keys when he ascended to Bio-Lock, enough to create the Key of Hunger.
The next Key was the Key of Thirst. This Key shall allow him to be free of water and Mater wouldn’t need to drink to preserve his survival.
He needed three more Singularities to make this.
"Only two..." Mater stroked his whiskers.
Two Chaos Singularities weren’t enough for the Key of Thirst or for Mater’s Servants. He needed at least three to raise the rank of Aurora or Crow to Rank-2.
"Well. I can’t be too greedy."
Selina deactivated the Dampening Static Field and revealed herself.
"That was a quick fight." The goth girl said. "Should I notice the ACPD?"
"Let’s look around for a little bit. This is an ancient ritual site. Maybe we can find sothing useful." The black cat owed.
The group split up to check the site and the platform.
The circular platform was made of bronze. It had value to it but wasn’t enough for Mater to snatch it away.
They spent half an hour looking around.
"Have you found anything?" The black cat owed.
Selina shook her head, "Aside from dust and bones, nothing much."
"I also found nothing, Master." Sparrow said.
Crow erged from under the platform, "I found sothing very particular, Master."
"Oh?"
Selina used Chaos Control to split open a path beneath the platform.
There was a hidden room underneath. From this location, they could see the other side of the large bronze disk.
"This is..."
The platform was a ritual site but from the top side, it looked nothing out of the ordinary. But on the other side, Mater could spot a complex conduit being engraved onto it.
It was a Magical Conduit similar to Mater’s Shifting Fire Wand. However, its purpose was different.
This Magical Conduit was able to channel the power from the hell of darkness, the Netherworld, to enhance whatever Chaos Ritual on the top side.
"You are very fortunate, Crow." Mater grinned widely.
Crow pointed at himself confusingly.
"This is a large Nether Conduit. With its power, even with two Chaos Singularities. You should be able to reach Rank-2 no problem." The black cat owed.
It floated up into the air and placed its paw on the bronze disk.
A large amount of Chaos leaked out and enveloped the disk entirely. Moving this piece of Nether Conduit would certainly draw unwanted attention. To move it stealthily, Mater used Chaos Control to shrink it into a palm-sized disk and threw it inside his Demonic Arsenal.
"Now you can contact the ACPD." The black cat turned to Selina.
The goth girl nodded and took out her phone.
"It’s , Cole. I just finished the Bounty on the A1 Highway."
On the other line, Cole blinked repeatedly.
