The purple beam shot through the ceiling and dug a way to the surface. Two bright purple beams continued to appear in the park above and shot upward. Luckily, it was night so there wasn’t anyone to witness it. The two beams continued to the sky until they disappeared.
Selina shut her eyes tight. The dark veins still lingered around the corners of her eyes for a while before disappearing.
The goth girl fell to the ground but Aurora was already there to catch her.
"Woah. Easy there." Aurora said.
"I’m alright. I just need to rest a little." Selina sat down.
"Huh... Because you already have Chaos Eyes, you can use my Octagram Chaos Eyes. Through them, you can channel the power of the Nether Beam." The black cat stroked his whiskers. "You can’t use it more than one though."
"I’m still too weak." Selina said.
"It’s a matter of ranks. You’re too low in rank. But a Rank-1 being able to use a Rank-2 Warlock Spell is very impressive. It can save you in a pinch."
"Unfortunately, I can only equip two of your spells at once." Selina said. "I can’t equip both the defensive Elental Shield and the offensive Nether Beam. And Octagram Chaos Eyes is a must."
"There is a way to circumvent that. You’re still very low in level. I can feel your Chaos through our link. You’re around level 5 right now. You would need to raise your level a bit higher to equip more of my spells."
The black cat opened its mouth and spat out 26 Chaos Spheres it stored.
"These should be more than enough for you to raise one or two levels. Then we can try equipping a third spell."
Selina nodded. She opened her mouth and pulled all of those Chaos Spheres inside. All the Chaos Sphere went inside her Psycho Force and began dissolving.
Selina had successfully devoured other beings before. So this ti, when the madness flooded at her, she showed no sign of discomfort. She had learned to live with it. Her Psycho Force slowly grew thanks to the Chaos Sphere.
"I will need a few days to absorb all of these Chaos. I have a feeling I will reach level 7 with this." Selina mumbled. A dark red aura floated around her.
"I still recomnd equipping the Elental Shield for now. Once you are able to equip the third spell, you can put Nether Beam in." The black cat owed.
"I also intend to do that." Selina nodded.
Mater let Selina continue absorbing the Chaos Sphere. He floated to a corner and spat out the Dark Grimoire.
"Alright! It’s ti to adjust these spells a little."
The fight with the Ascendant made him realize he needed to improve his spell list. So of the spells were really not that effective.

"My Rank-2 Spells are full so I’ll leave it at that. My Rank-1 Spells need adjustnt.
Glacial Imbuent is such a useless spell... Even if I power Selina’s gun, its use is still very limited. Let’s switch that for Death Plates."
Death Plates was a defensive spell that could damage enemies if they touched Mater. At first Mater didn’t like this spell because it would be difficult for him to use it effectively and other defensive spells were better.
But now he had the Demonic Transformation Watch.
"If I use Death Plates along with it. The damage Spike Ball can make would be even greater... Let’s get rid of that Glacial Imbuent."
Mater placed his paw on the page containing the painting for Glacial Imbuent. Its color retreated and the Chaos went back to Mater.
"Now. Let’s paint!"
Mater extended his claws and inscribed the new Death Plates spell.
The sketch for Death Plates was a thorny armor. Once he finished, colors flooded to the page. Faint blue on the edges with transparent clear ice as its material.

[Effect]: Summon a suit of armor around your body. The armor is made of Death Ice, the material found only in the hell of blizzard. Any being that touched it would be damaged by the power of Death Ice. You gain minor resistance to heat, Hellfire, and physical damage while wearing the armor.
[Cooldown]: 180 seconds
"From 30 minutes to 3 minutes. Very good. The perks of being a cat shine again." Mater grinned widely.
"Now I need another long range spell in case I’m out of Chaos to use Nether Beam... The three main powers from hell don’t have that many long range spells except for Nether Shot. But inscribing it again is too redundant. Maybe a normal spell would be sufficient."
Mater flipped the Dark Grimoire to an empty spell page and inscribed another spell. This one was made by the sa Warlock that made the Elental Shield.
The sketch for it was a beam with many different rays joined together. Once he finished, colors flooded to the page. It looked like a distorted rainbow once he finished.
[Alchemist’s Arrow]
[Effect]: Summon three arrows that contain one of the four elental powers: Air, Earth, Fire, Water. The arrows magically find their target and won’t stop until they hit the target or are destroyed.
[Cooldown]: 9 seconds
"Ggyatdamn! This is a good spell! I should have inscribed it sooner!" The black cat widened its eyes in surprise.
The cool down was reduced from 30 seconds to 9 seconds and it could shoot three arrows at a ti. The only problem was the spell had very low damage compared to hellish spells.
