When Selina woke up, Mater had already accepted more than ten bounties. Each of them scattered around Aeliz City.

She looked at the list of bounties and froze. Her mouth twitched gently.

"Can we really do them all?"

Mater waved at her dismissively. "With here, you have nothing to worry about."

Selina didn’t understand everything but she knew what he was trying to say. Mater was very reliable so the girl didn’t worry at all. She shrugged and walked away.

"I’m going to shower."

The cat threw the mouse away and jumped down from the computer. He owed loudly.

"I want to join!"

Selina slamd the door shut. "No way. You’re going to do weird things again."

"No! Nooooooooo! Let in!"

Mater owed and scratched at the door. The water was running and he could hear Selina taking off her clothes.

"Shit. I need to change my strategy."

Instead of growling, Mater began to ow softly and pitifully.

Selina opened the door. "What am I going to do with you..."

She saw the cat’s wide sparkling eyes and couldn’t help but let him in.

"Hehe! Shower ti, baby doll!" Mater jumped into the bath with her. "Nothing better than to shower with beauties!"

Mater purred the entire ti while being rubbed by Selina.

Today, Selina picked a new set of clothes to wear. She went with sothing a little more historical.

The top was an off-the-shoulder white blouse with fancy lace at the cuffs. Her pale skin lit up brightly under the sunlight.

A dark brown corset outside the blouse, forming Selina’s hourglass figure and emphasizing her bust and hips greatly. Mater couldn’t help but drooled looking at that curve.

Selina wore a lighter shade of brown skirt beneath with the front higher than the back. The front was cut provokingly high, reaching her thighs. It made people wonder what was hidden behind that fabric.

The goth girl paired the set with plain brown boots that reached her calves.

Mater clapped his paws in excitent. "Nicely chosen, servant."

The pair then left the house. They used the public bus this ti. Selina’s clothes were not designed for bicycling.

They ca to the cold storage first to retrieve Aurora.

On the bus, people kept darting their eyes toward Selina, both male and female. They were attracted by her looks and the smug cat that lay in her arms. That cat looked extrely content with her non-stop belly rubs.

They arrived at the cold storage shortly. Selina closed the door when they’re inside, avoiding any suspicious eyes from the outside world.

Mater owed at her. "Want to look at sothing cool?"

Selina followed Mater to the cold room. The door slowly opened, revealing a world of ice and snow inside.

The cold air swept through the hallway, making Selina shivered.

"How can she bear this cold..." Selina mumbled.

Mater jumped inside the cold room. The Master Signet appeared in his paw as he called forth Aurora.

Aurora erged from the Shrine, leaving an empty spot behind.

The Shrine was constructed similar to a throne made of ice with layers that would enveloped Aurora like a cocoon once she sat down and opened when she exited.

Aurora seed even more beautiful than last ti. Her skin was a flawless color of white with a godly smooth surface. The blue and white lines on her body only added to her ethereal beauty.

Aurora opened her eyes.

"Hello, Master. Hello, Selina." Her voice was as gentle and soft as a river in the winter.

"Hi, Aurora." Selina waved at her.

"How are you feeling?" Mater owed.

"Very good, Master. My Chaos is filled up to the max. Any remaining damage was healed also." Aurora answered with a smile.

The black cat nodded. "We’re going to bring you with us. You will have to stay in the page for a while."

"Of course, Master."

Selina took out the Dark Grimoire. The black hole opened and sucked in the ice wight with the pair of antlers.

"Alright! Ti to go hunt so ghosts!" Mater owed and pointed to the door.

Selina chuckled and picked Mater up. "Hehe. Let’s go."

Mater had accepted fifteen Iron Bounties. When Selina went to Bronze Rank, the reward for the Iron Bounties would be lowered. This was to prevent the higher ranks from sweeping all the bounties of lower ranks.

The ACPD also made sure it would be fair for investigators that just got ranked up. If they accepted a bounties before ranked up, they would still receive the full reward. The higher rank penalty would only apply for missions you accepted after the ranked up.

Mater and Selina had all the ti in the world to deal with these bounties.

They went to the nearest one from the cold storage. It was an abandoned warehouse with the possibility of an NCE.

Selina and Mater walked inside and looked around.

Mater used Chaos Eyes to scan the area but this place had a very thin layer of Chaos. The possibility of an NCE existed was very unlikely.

They didn’t find any trace of a wraith. But they did find so blunts and syringes left behind. This place was very likely to be used by addicts at night so the report must be about them.

Selina and Mater also asked the people in the surrounding neighborhood. When they saw Selina’s badge, everyone beca very cooperative. They soon confird that the abandoned warehouse was the gathering place for holess people and addicts.

Selina sent the pictures of the blunts and syringes along with testimonies from the witness to the ACPD. This way they could cross off the place from potentially having an NCE.

Solving a bounty this way didn’t provide much reward but still was a very reliable way of farming credits and tokens. It didn’t involve any danger at all.

Then they went on to the second place. This case was even weirder.

The location was a coffee shop. It was still in business. However, it had a special section at the back that people never went to, including the staff and owner. There were rumors that the ghost of the previous owner haunted that room as it was her favorite place when she was alive.

Aside from poor circulation and god awful structural design, Mater didn’t find anything too special about that room. The ugly picture of the previous owner was hung on the wall. That was probably what fueled this rumor a lot.

Selina took pictures of the place and also included so testimonies of the staff. She added her own ’assessnt’ that she didn’t feel the presence of any hostile NCE.

Psychics do have a way to locate and identify NCE. Selina couldn’t do it. But Mater could verify everything clearly with his Chaos Eyes.

Selina didn’t want to put in this assessnt as it wasn’t her who did it. She wanted to put Mater as the one who did it. Mater had to convince her otherwise. He was still a cat and she was a certified Institute-approved Psychic.

Selina couldn’t refute it and listened to him.

They went on to the third location of the third bounty. It was a small apartnt in an apartnt complex where a man had killed himself with a gun.

Mater imdiately saw the thick cloud of Chaos hovering above the building when he got there.
