With the cleaning of a few feeble wraiths and the bird wraith, Mater gained a total of 12 Chaos Spheres.

He now had 23 Chaos Spheres inside him.

"This swamp is infested with NCEs." Selina clicked her tongue.

A wraith jumped down from the tree branch and lunged at Selina. Bash raised his big hand and grabbed the wraith, crushing it entirely.

Mater sucked all the Chaos out of its remains.

"24 Spheres. This place really is a wraith swamp." The black cat owed.

The more they went inside the more cramped the swamp beca. Trees were everywhere and their wet leaves blocked the sky above. It was up until a point where Selina couldn’t see the starry sky any more.

Crow returned after scouting the front and landed on Bash’s white skull.

"The next area is also weird, Master. I feel the presence of another wraith but can’t find it." Crow said.

"Another one? Let’s go collect Chaos then." The black cat pointed its paw forward and owed loudly.

Bash’s slow body marched forward.

After the muddy water area, they reached a drier area with very little water on the ground. There were a lot more trees around. Their trunks were covered in bright green moss.

Mater’s eyes flashed red and looked around. Crow’s instinct wasn’t wrong. He just didn’t have the right ability to spot the wraith.

Every single tree in this area was filled with Chaos. This was a wraith similar to that female wraith of the haunted apartnt. It transford its environnt to beco a part of it.

Mater jumped off Bash and called the others to follow him.

"We’re not riding Bash anymore?" Selina said.

The black cat nodded. "I want to test his strength.

Aurora, Bash. You are tasked with dealing with wraith.

Aurora. Your role is to locate the wraith and deal damage.

Bash. Your role is to protect Aurora and make sure nothing can harm her.

Crow. You stand aside. You can help if the situation becos dire."

Aurora bowed. Her soft voice echoed. "As you wish, Master."

Bash tapped his chest. His gruff voice spread. "I’ll fight it for you, Master."

Crow tipped his fedora lightly. His deep calm voice answered. "I’ll watch them closely, Master."

The black cat picked an empty spot on the ground to watch the show. It waved at Selina and called her over.

Crow transford into a crow and flew to the sky. He wouldn’t interfere unless it was needed.

Bash bashed his chest repeatedly then jumped inside the dry area. Aurora followed right behind.

The dry swamp area showed no reaction. All the trees were still exactly the sa. But Aurora knew better. She couldn’t detect the uniqueness of the trees but she felt their presence.

Aurora placed her hands on the ground and used Ice Spikes. Cold blue ice shot up from the ground and pierced a few tropical trees.

There was a scream that imdiately responded. Black blood seeped out of the spikes in the trees. Eyes appeared on the tree trunks, looking directly at Aurora.

"Go away!" A voice echoed through the forest. It was impossible to locate where it ca from.

Vines shot up from the tree branches and aid at Aurora.

Bash rushed over, standing in front of Aurora. The vines wrapped around Bash and restrained him. However, they were imdiately burned by hellfire.

The vines writhed on his skin like living worms and they were burned to ash. Hellfire continued climbing up the vines and reached the tree branches.

A small tree stood up, tore its roots from the ground. Its branches fused together and turned into a sharp wooden blade.

The wooden blade slashed over the burning vine, stopping the hellfire from reaching the tree branches.

"GO!" The tree shouted again.

Two more small trees stood up, transforming into tree warriors. They rushed at Bash and Aurora.

Bash roared and stood in between the tree warriors and Aurora. The tree warriors slashed their wooden blade at him.

Mater observed the blades with his Chaos Eyes. "Hmmm... It uses Chaos to change the structure of wood, making it as hard and sharp as iron. It’s very smart. But that is not enough to break through Bash’s exoskeleton."

The wooden blade slamd on Bash’s bone armor and instantly broke apart. The tree warriors threw their wooden blade away and charged at Bash. All three of them pushed Bash at the sa ti.

Bash pushed back. His feet planted on the dirt. He was immovable. Faces appeared on the tree warriors. They growled loudly. Their eyes were full of conviction.

But they weren’t able to budge Bash’s one bit.

"Keep them still, Bash."

Aurora placed her hands on the ground. Ice spikes shot up from the ground and pierced through the tree warriors. Ice also climbed upon their body and shot up from beneath their wooden skin.

Black blood flooded out from all the holes of a tree warrior. It fell to the ground and died.

Bash pushed the other tree warrior to the side then charged the last one forward. The huge body of the Infernal Demon picked up speed.

Bash slamd heavily on the tree warrior and picked it up on the way.

Aurora clasped her hands together and encased the other tree warrior in an ice pillar. She imdiately connected the spell with Ice Spikes. Walls within the pillars shot out spikes that penetrated the tree warrior. Black blood flooded out non-stop.

Bash ramd the last tree warrior into another tree, crushing its body. He then grabbed the tree warrior and jumped up. His large body shot up to the sky and he placed the tree warrior at the bottom.

The entire area shook as Bash landed on the ground, crushing the tree warrior into pieces beneath his feet.

All three of the tree warriors were dead. But they were only pawns. The real threat that controlling all of them hadn’t even shown up yet.

Mater flashed his eyes and saw a particular dark tree with a human face on it. It hid amongst the trees, limiting its presence to the maximum.

"That one." Mater hinted at the wraith telepathically to Aurora.

At this rate, the tree wraith couldn’t hurt Aurora or Bash. But they would have to waste quite a bit of ti to find out its location. Mater already understood Bash’s potential so he didn’t want them to waste their Chaos anymore.

Aurora climbed on Bash’s back and pointed. "Rush at that tree, Bash!"

Bash tapped its chest heavily. "Bash Kills!"

The Infernal Demon picked up speed and charged at the dark tree.
