"Sister Jane..." Watching Jane Sampson just a few steps away, Mona Calm bit her lips until they were bloodless.
She had never imagined the day she would be discovered, nor had she ever thought that when Jane Sampson beca cold and heartless, she would look like this.
Mona knew that even if she spoke, Jane might not let her off the hook.
But if she didn’t speak, Jane would definitely not forgive her.
However, Mona didn’t know what to say or what she could say.
Using Jane had been just one of the insignificant things she had done over the years; using her status as an actor, she had provided her boyfriend’s studio with lots of inside information.
Jane was no exception.
Back in the film crew, simply because Jane was popular and a newcor, she eagerly sent out the most attractive tidbits. Indeed, as she envisioned, drawing on Jane, her boyfriend’s studio made a considerable sum of money.
"Not speaking, huh?" Coco Edwards blocked the way between Mona and Jane. "Since you’re not talking, you might as well not stay here and waste everyone’s ti."
Coco gestured impatiently for Mona to leave, with both her tone and expression decidedly impolite.
Seeing Mona’s pitiful look, Coco felt disgust churn inside her.
"Whom are you putting on this poor little act for? Sister Jane and I must have been fools to have been deceived and used by you. Mona, considering how well we treated you, did you laugh at us in your heart?" Coco scoffed coldly.
"I..." The word revolved in Mona’s mouth, but she couldn’t bring herself to say it out loud.
Because she had indeed done so.
When she and her boyfriend were in high spirits, she had heard him mock these wealthy fools for lacking brains.
"Sister Jane, should we call the hotel security? It’s really sothing with the hotel staff—this isn’t soone from our film crew, and yet they let her in," said Director Chip’s assistant from over there.
"Thanks," Jane nodded and thanked him, then turned and went straight back to her room.
Director Chip’s assistant imdiately used his mobile phone to call the reception and summon security, causing Mona’s heart to sink with panic.
This ti, she had managed to sneak in with great difficulty. If she couldn’t earn Jane’s forgiveness, then perhaps she would never have the chance to see Jane again.
Mona’s tears fell anew in desperation.
She had struggled at the bottom for so many years, and it was only recently that things had begun to look up—only recently had she gained so popularity and seen so hope. She truly did not want to be knocked down again, truly did not want to return to the countryside and, like all the others there, get married and have children, living a life without hope for a lifeti.
"Sister Jane." Frustrated by Coco’s obstruction, Mona couldn’t catch up with Jane, who had already returned to her room. In desperation, she could only kneel and plead with Coco, "Sister Coco, please let talk to Sister Jane, I beg you."
"Say whatever it is you want to say before security arrives," Coco stated firmly, not budging an inch and looking down at Mona, who was again kneeling on the ground, Coco felt boundless contempt in her heart.
A person who was selfish, without humanity, and even willing to forsake their dignity—what on earth could such a person be longing for in life?
"Sister Jane." Seeing she couldn’t get through, Mona knelt there, looking utterly spiritless, as if soone had sucked out her very soul.
