Jane Sampson nodded unconsciously, but as she stood up, she suddenly saw Daniel Taylor’s body sway noticeably. He clutched his forehead, and the wine cup in his hand beca unsteady and fell onto the tabletop. In a few seconds, he collapsed to the ground level, unconscious.
The accident happened so fast that everyone at the table was shocked.
"Call an ambulance! Call an ambulance!" Jane Sampson’s hand holding the mobile phone was shaking, but fortunately, she quickly ca to her senses and imdiately dialed 120, then called Rock Bell in Capital Province.
People hurriedly moved the chairs out of the way, but since no one was a doctor, they dared not move Daniel Taylor for the ti being.
Fortunately, there was a hospital nearby. In less than five minutes, dical staff arrived. After asking the clueless crowd a few questions, they carried Daniel Taylor to the ambulance.
Jane Sampson and King directly followed the ambulance to the hospital, while the dinner party dispersed. The others drove or caught a cab to the hospital.
As soon as he arrived at the hospital, Daniel Taylor was rushed into the Ergency Room. Jane Sampson was anxiously pacing outside when Daniel Taylor inside suddenly regained consciousness, surprising not only himself but also startling the line of dical staff in front of him.
"Jane, what’s the situation with Director Taylor inside now?"
Matthew Chip and others arrived a bit later than the ambulance, and what they saw was Jane Sampson pacing anxiously outside the Ergency Room.
Jane Sampson was about to speak when a doctor, holding so stuff, hurried over and blurted out, "Are you Daniel Taylor’s relatives?"
"She is! She is!" Matthew Chip instinctively pushed Jane Sampson forward.
Jane Sampson was stunned for a mont, and King stepped forward, saying, "I am Director Taylor’s assistant."
"Daniel Taylor’s condition is neither good nor bad," said the doctor, shaking the stuff in his hand. "He ca for an examination last ti and left in the afternoon. I called him in the afternoon but he didn’t answer, and now he’s been brought to the hospital again this evening."
The doctor looked back at Jane Sampson while speaking and asked, "Are you Mrs. Taylor?"
Jane Sampson shook her head again and again. The doctor expressed his confusion with a puzzled sound, then looked at Matthew Chip, as he had just pointed at Jane Sampson as a relative when asked.
At this ti, the door to the Ergency Room opened, and two nurses ca out. Seeing the doctor at the doorway, one of the nurses shouted, "Doctor Taylor, the patient has awakened and is claiming to feel no discomfort."
"You two, co in with ," Doctor Taylor beckoned Jane Sampson and King and led the way inside.
Just as Jane Sampson entered, Rock Bell called. When she picked up, Rock Bell asked about Daniel Taylor’s condition, sounding very anxious and concerned.
"Director Taylor has awakened, but we still don’t know the full situation; the doctor just got here," Jane Sampson popped her head out from behind the doctor to glance at the person in the Bed and added, "Sister Tin, don’t worry, the director looks to be in quite good spirits."
"Okay, keep an eye on things for over there. I’m already at the high-speed train station waiting for the express train; I won’t be able to get on it for about half an hour later," Rock Bell said, not hanging up imdiately as if she was planning to listen to what the doctor had to say through Jane Sampson’s phone.
"I called you several tis this afternoon, and you didn’t answer. It seems you had to co here in person tonight," Doctor Taylor flicked the stuff in his hand, which contained the reports from Daniel Taylor’s last examination.
