He had a strong learning ability, she understood. So, really, there was no need to announce to the world on the spot that he had acquired so startling new skills.
The soup base arrived, a mushroom and beef bone broth, full of fungi that Jane Sampson couldn’t even pronounce. The dipping sauces here were all exclusively blended, so everyone got their own portion.
Watching the chili sauce that made a round in front of her and then all ended up in Jas Black’s bowl, Jane swallowed and was just about to speak when Mr. Black shot her a glance. She silently retracted the words she had nearly let slip out.
The exclusive secret chili sauce looked especially fragrant.
There was only one sentence in Jane’s heart.
I really want to taste it.
"The non-spicy dipping sauce to your right hand is enough for you," Jas pointed out, tapping his fingertip in front of that sauce. "Don’t look, it’s no use."
Jane pouted.
So annoying.
"Sister Shaw’s mother’s ho runs a livestock farm, so the beef and mutton used in the restaurant are all from cattle and sheep grazed on natural grasslands, freshly slaughtered every morning. These fungi are all grown by Brother Old Young’s family in the mountain village, and due to the climate and soil limitations, many are unique to King Town. Brother Old Young’s family has always taken good care of Sister Shaw, and they’ve been providing her shop with fungus."
Thinking about these King Town mountain products, they generally sold for high prices and were always in high demand.
However, Big Brother Young would wait until Sister Shaw’s supply was sufficient before selling the rest to other businessn.
Sister Shaw’s hot pot restaurant, located away from the business center and in her own renovated building, was always fully booked every day largely because—besides the unique charm of the courtyard environnt—the raw materials of the hot pot shop were incomparable to those of other hot pot restaurants.
After the broth boiled, Jas served Jane a bowl of soup first, "Try the original flavor of the soup base."
Jane humd in affirmation, cradling the bowl and took a sip, "So delicious!"
It was really so good she didn’t want to put down the bowl.
The lady from the kitchen arrived to serve the dishes just in ti to hear Jane’s comnt and smiled as she joined in, "Our house’s soup base is top-notch. For girls, drinking more of this soup in this weather is good for the body."
After saying that, the lady then asked Jas, "Mr. Black, the sa tea as usual, right? And for your wife?"
"Just a cup of jasmine tea for her," Jas replied.
After the lady left with a cheerful smile, Jane curiously glanced at Jas, and a while later, after the lady brought over two cups of tea for her and Jas, Jane couldn’t suppress her curiosity again. She peeked at Jas’s cup of tea, then lowered her head to sll her own, and let out a curious "huh."
"Isn’t mine jasmine tea? Why can I only sll the jasmine fragrance but don’t see any jasmine? What tea leaves are these in the cup?" Jane asked as she took a sip, surprised, "I can’t see the jasmine, but I can sll and taste it. How magical."
"This is a specialty souvenir from ’Min City,’ jasmine tea," Jas explained to Jane after she took several sips, realizing that she must have liked the taste.
After she had her fill, Jas’s voice slowly began to clarify for her.
